Heard from a pretty reliable source that next month's promo is both $3/hr WPT tourney comps, plus an additional $3/hr (regular comps) for any limit games 4/8 or higher. I think it's interesting.

Do you mean 4/8 limit and then the no limit, or only the 4/8 limit and up? If it's the latter, then the promo is $3/hr for a game that never runs?

Maybe we can get 4/8+ O/8 going regularly.

Every time I think the promos can't possibly get any worse, they manage to surprise me. Well played, Hard Rock!

Well it was suppose to be nothing but tournament ticket drawings..$3/hr for wpt and comps is better than nothing, still not fantastic though.

This is a good promo, lol. Encouraging games that don't run to run is the best thing they can do.

Yes, limit games only, 4/8 and higher. Obviously it's an attempt to get some higher and/or different limit games going in the room. Personally, I give them credit for trying something new.

Actually, I think using players money to attract players of a different game sucks. There's no reward at all for the NL players paying the drop if the comp is for people who play higher limit limit games. And the money doesn't even attract more people into the NL games for the regs to play against.

The THR will run any game people care about. Why take our jackpot drop money to try and force it?

I think it is clear that their intent with players’ promotional money is not to: (a) attract more players or (b) entice regular players to play more hours or (c) return player generated promotional money to the broad player base. Instead their priority seems to be: (a) subsidize tournaments and (b) minimize staff time spent administering promotional payouts. Player friendly, industry-standard type promotions just don’t seem to be in the works. Ironically the lame promotions mean fewer players and less rake in their coffers so none of it makes sense.

Must move games can be pretty stupid. Especially if the main table loses just one player and is 8 handed and the must move only has 6.

Please use some common sense and wait for 10-20 to see if more players will come before basically breaking the must move.

Scott, what are all the possible games that Tampa Hard Rock is allowed to spread? They have to be approved my headquarters or something, right? I know everything on the list on the counter, but I know you'll also do Razz, and it's not on that list. Limit or NL triple draw? A mixed game like HORSE? Badugi?

I would play ofc sometime as long as it wasn't crazy expensive per point.

Also, I saw on the placard at the desk today that only limit hold 'em qualified for the extra $3/hr. Is it too much to ask that the promo apply to all limit games? I'd love to see a regular 4/8 LO/8 game spread. Maybe with a half kill to offer a sense of familiarity to the existing players.

Just the games that are listed. Razz falls under 7-card stud for these purposes. We offer mixed games already.

Ok, so anything that mixes those games is fine, but no types of 5 card draw games.

Scott,

could you please clarify what the promo(s) will be for August. I understand the $3 per hour for limit 4/8 and up,however i have also been told that there will also be $3 WPT hours or high hands for the 10 Million Guarantee? If you are doing all 3,you will be my hero.

If you are going to get $3 per hour plus 3 WPT$'s per hour next month,4/8 limit will run for August. In keeping it running longer term there will need to be a continued incentive over a longer period of time to allow it to fully take hold.

Well that's my point. 4/8 limit players could play anytime they want to right now, but they don't want to. So some may play when paid $3/hr by the NL players. And once that stops, we're right back to where we started.

If they want to build interest in other games, then do what other casinos have done and offer it at no rake or reduced rake during the intro period. But they won't do that. They're willing to give nl players money to limit players to attract more business, but not willing to spend their own money on it.

All they are doing with this sort of promo is using promo money for what should be coming put of their marketing budget, and screwing all the nl players in the process.

Making it for limit hold em only is beyond ridiculous.
