This approach obviously helps subsidize tournament expenses but at the cost of reducing the number of cash players who generate the rake. I bet your statistics would show fewer cash players this year than last. Have the decision makers in Tampa considered studying the promotional offerings at other casinos such as Hollywood Hard Rock? There must be some credible justification for the elimination of the kind of promotions most players want in favor of the bias towards tournament incentives. Would you care to share what that thinking is? Do you expect to offer non-tournament related promotions in the future on a regular basis (not counting bad beats) such as high hands or Visa or gas cards or is the intention to continue to focus primarily on tournament players? What is the long range plan?

Oh dear. Is the website's tournament schedule correct? Same rinky dink crap as last month other than the series? Guess I'll be needing to look at the other rooms to get my tourney fix.

Poor turnout for previous mt satellites. Some didn't even run.

You'll probably get a better turnout if you run them just a day or two before the ME instead of before the start of the whole series.

Scott,

i take issue with this statement. The only WPT main event scheduled satellites i can recall are the 2 you have run on the Thursday before event #1 and have not seen 1 of these not run.If you are referencing the Hollywood 10 Million week day Turbo satellites with no seat guaranty, you are correct. You would been better off scheduling a rock, paper, scissors tournament for $575.If you have the courage to schedule one the night before the main you will get a great turnout.Post it on here, put a sign on the counter and you will get 5 tables minimum.

Bigger tournaments. Or at least more $200+ tournaments. A regular black chip bounty would be awesome. I understand the need to pull back when you're not making your guarantees, but there are better ways than simply axing everything. There's obviously something very wrong with what you're doing if Derby and Silks run bigger tourneys

Also, fix the blind structure so it's like the one used for the 5k satellites for the first 8 levels. That got to the same level 8 without the super steep jump and level off that makes the regular structure so bad.

It would be nice (a dream really) if someone from THR actually flew to another casino, like for instance the Borgata, that has been running quality tournaments for a long time. Take notes on everything, MTT's, structure, feedback from more experienced TD's, etc.

It would be well worth the investment.

Just a note in reference to MTT's running before event 1 and not a day or two before the ME. Yea, that just doesn't make sense at all. The biggest turnouts are ALWAYS right before the ME.

if you're describing the nightly turbo 575s you were offering for a 5k at a different location, you're not comparing apples to apples.

Thanks. I smell an overlay, which would not be a surprise. I did not notice any signage for the event and the booklets were not even out when i came in on Friday, last week. There may have been some signage somewhere, but nothing that caught my attention.

Hi Everyone,

I may be making my first trip to the Hard Rock to play cash games this coming Wednesday night. Does the poker room offer table-side dining?

Thanks in advance.

We do not offer table side dining. We do have several restaurants on property and a food court just outside the poker room.
