I guess people have finally realized that, even with a bbj of $500,000 the odds are crazy long to hit it and so don't make a special trip over it.

But when you're 1 out away 1 card to come 4 times....~8% equity! Should have sold my pieces if I acted quickly. Lol

We chopped it 4 way 7k a piece and I got the ME seat without playing for it. Some will say it wasn't a good chop deal but I think it was. 4th money was $3200 1st was 12k and 2nd place money was around 7k, so I got 2nd place money and the ME seat.
Chips were appox.
Me 750k
360k
220k
210k

Now I can ship the Main! lol

I had just got 185k and guy raised and I 3bet KK and he shipped and had me covered. I called and it was AQ and I actually held as 70%. lol
I ran super hot, One hand at final table was AI 88 vs AJ, blank flop, Ace on turn then I hit 8 on river. Then I called down with 99 on Q875A when guy 3 bet me and bet all streets and he had air.

You are my hero. Good luck in main.

Are all 300+ tournaments giving away a seat?

Even the turbos, all of them. It comes out of the prize pool of course.

Congrats man, solid score with the seat! Not sure how the negotiations went and the situation but I definitely go for more in that chop though imp. People often give up massive amounts of equity at the end of tourneys at the hard rock with well above average stacks. Don't let the norm at the hard rock stop you from claiming the equity you deserve.

I did ICM calculation after the fact and my end was $8600 incl ME seat and ICM would have been $9786, so if I knew the numbers better maybe I could have done better, in the moment getting $7k cash and ME seat sounded like a good deal.

$7K is definitely a solid score and sometimes the variance can be so high at the end I definitely understand, congrats again. The Tourneys just always have guys pressuring to chop and it shouldn't be the norm, but is at the tampa hard rock. If you're gonna put yourself at risk with KK vs AQ then at least get rewarded for it when you chop, either that or let a couple of the shorties consolidate and just play small ball and then chop. There's massive incentive for the shorties to chop so they'll give some up usually pretty quickly most of the time.

Anyone know what the cut off time for the 20 hours gas card promo is? Is it midnight Thursday? I wanted to come do a 20 hour session next week, but if I get there Thursday at 8am I'd miss out if midnight cut-off. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I was wrong, they do not take the main event seats out of the prize pool.

Signs posted tonight saying that comps will now expire 180 days after earned.

Interesting. I wonder if that means that you only have to play within that period to keep all comps alive.

Ex: Jan 1, earn $10 in comps.

Mar. 1, earn $15 in comps.

Did the play on Mar. 1 eliminate the Jan. 1 date? i..e., does that mean that to keep the full $25 I need to play within 6 months of Mar. 1, or that 6 months after Jan. 1 I am down to $15 in comps because I lost the Jan.1 dollars?

In that example, if you never used any comps from Jan. 1st on then 180 days after Jan. 1st the $10 you earned that day will go away and the $15 earned on Mar. 1st will remain until 180 days from that date.

For those of you asking about recent posts in this thread which were deleted, here's a link to the B&M Forum guidelines:

If you have any specific questions after rereading them, feel free to let me know via PM.

EDIT to add: After some discussion with EddieOB, I restored a couple of the posts because they were specific to chops at Hard Rock as opposed to general chop equity theory / ICM calcs, etc. Thanks Eddie for setting me straight on the content of those first couple of posts and apologies to the readership for any inconvenience caused by my mistake.

Does playing on mar. 1 give me 6 months from then on the comps from Jan. 1?

From what ParisRon has said, any poker room comp dollar earned expires 180 days after the day it is earned. Comps earned on a later date don't extend the expiration for earlier comps. Every comp dollar earned expires 180 days after it is earned independent of any other comp dollar earned.
