Well I am supposed to go down there Tomorrow through Monday, but am considering canceling due to the weather. Do you think they will waive the $50 fee for late canceling considering the forecast?

I've never seen that fee actually applied, even if you no-showed for the reservation.

Well that's a good sign. Guess I will see in the morning, I really want to go but need to be back in DC on Monday and it looks like a nightmare travel day, with Sunday not much better. Sigh.

It happened to me once. I got my dates mixed up and arrived on the second day for a two night comped stay. They charged me $50 for the first night.

It happened to me once too. Got sick and couldn't go down. Called on day of and asked to get it waived and they did. Took a while and they said it was one time only but they did waive.

Better idea, you can also call them today and ask them if you can cancel late if the weathers real bad. I'd think they might be accommodating.

They let me cancel with no fee, said it was a one time courtesy but were nice about it. Seems like the drive back to DC on Monday would be difficult or impossible and Sunday night with freezing rain would be no bargain. Oh well, will get back to Borg soon hopefully.

Glad to hear. That was my experience too. They are pretty reasonable and customer friendly in my experience.

Thank you Mr. obvious. very helpful response. I am at Borgata twice a month...I know 'why' they give out comped rooms.. thanks for the help.

Well you didn't know that you couldn't do that, so maybe you didn't understand the reason behind why you can't. Jesus no need to be so snarky.

I cancelled late due to weather once last weekend and they didn't give me any trouble, just said change it to a different date rather than cancelling it altogether. I think I may even have needed to do it twice.

During most of the "opens" you can catch a 2-5 with a 1000 max. Called 2-5 deep. And every once in a while on a weekend.

Get the Bravo App.

In my experience, this has been their policy even if you don't have a weather or emergency-related reason to cancel. If you reschedule the dates, there's never been a charge for me. I've had to cancel before because stuff came up for work and just pushed the dates back.

I did know that 'ordinarily' it can't be done, but wanted to ask the wise community if they knew of a 'way' that it can be accomplished...

Well they give you ample time to cancel, 9PM the night before, across the street has a 2 day cancel policy.

Since you were asking your original question, I assumed you might now know why they give out the comped rooms.

I do not know if they would have applied it, but I asked them not to and they graciously aceded once in the past for the same reason.

One player -- supposedly some doctor asshat -- goes, "Annnd, hook, line and sinker." I hear another player outright refer to me as a fish.

Now, first off, is that situation not relatively standard? Dude slow-plays AA and traps me perfectly. Lucky for him, I had a huge hand where that would work. So good job, villain.

What ticked me off was the commentary. I'm not the best player in the world, but far from a fish. But if I was a fish, why would you make such a comment? That certainly would make me leave, which I strongly considered.

Thoughts?
""Long story short, all the money is in""

Not quite sure how All the money got in????

$ 90 +/- pot pre.... you get all money in after is very ????? and somewhat fishy so this may have prompted the comments..

all money gets in pre flop -is standard play!!

Point is, even if you consider my play fishy, don't broadcast it. Rude and drives fish away.
5/10 at the Borgata is the worst game in the East Coast, why people play it I do not know, stick to 2/5, people are a lot more friendly and more action and fishes

i have never seen behavior like that at 5/T and i see it a lot time at 2/5. also if you said the guy was a doctor he probably wasn't a reg. 5/T players often tend to be more deferential to fish because the game will break if they leave. this isn't a concern at 1/2-2/5.

at 1/2 people are the worst with table talk/berating fish. when i want to get drunk and **** around/gamble i play 1/2 and people will berate me for 3betting constantly/raising to $20 every time i'm in late position. i am usually drinking heavily while doing this. in other words, they will get annoyed at me for playing like a massive fish and will usually chase me off when i sit down not caring if i lose the buyin. fwiw have only had two losing drunk 1/2 sessions even though i play like 60vpip/40pfr/25% 3bet. generally this is because i rack after someone asks to see my cards the 3rd time i've shoved them into the muck.

I think we have all encountered that type of behavior from time to time.

And no exaggeration, EVERY SINGLE TIME I think to myself..."wtf is wrong with this guy"(person commenting on bad play from perceived fish). To this day, I still can NOT get used to it.

If someone makes a bad play, you want them to continue making bad plays. How ANYONE can think otherwise is absolutely beyond me.

My best guess is people's horrific lack of self-awareness + massive ego's. Which pretty much = asshat.
