NOt sure about other places but pretty sure 95% of Borgata tournaments offer rebuy

Hey all. Can someone tell me how often or how consistently the $60 and $100 single table tournaments run? Unlike MD Live, I don't see them listed at all on Bravo. Thnx.

I was just about to ask the same question, after hearing the answer to my MTT question above. With no SNG's running, and only rebuy MTT's, it seems as if AC is doing its best to drive recreational players out of the tournament picture. I'll be heading down to Borgata in a few days, and was looking forward to spending a couple of hours one night playing a tournament for $100-$200, but I have no interest in playing in a rebuy tournament where I have to be prepared to buy in multiple times just to have a decent shot.

There is a difference between a rebuy and a reentry. The person has to get up, go to the cage, and re enter, as if they were a new player. It's not like they can bust and just yell for chips.

They're re entries, not rebuys.

There really is a big difference between the two in how the game plays.

Edit: already answered, but what prototype said also.

Rec players love rebuys and dont really play in SNG's, not sure what youre talking about

As a recreational player I'd love to have the option to play maybe 3 or 4 $100 sit-n-gos in an evening rather than play 1/2.

This recreational player has dropped $400 on a single hand more than once at 1/2 and sometimes I just want the relaxed certainty of only being in for $100 with the ability to still play somewhat recklessly.

I'm surprised to hear these never go off at the Borg. Were they ever popular?

Your best bet is to get a list started and ask the floor to announce that you have started a list. Maybe then on a Friday or Saturday you can get one ran.

And as a person who plays for part of my income I hate tournaments because of the re buy. Always liked the fact if your out you are out. Which is probably why I do not play many tournaments. Then again I understand that the re buy allows them to hit more guarantees than they normally would.

I feel just the opposite. If someone is so bad that their strategy is to try to double-up early or rebuy, then I want that person paying 2 or 3 times as much as me to play for the same prize pool.

To each their own, but it would seem to me that on a consumer level it would be wise to offer both types of tournaments, with at least one single entry tournament somewhere on the weekly schedule.

The Casino is going to do whatever makes it the most money, they have clearly seen that rebuys are the most profitable, so thats what they do, cant blame them

Events 12 and 15 during the Summer Open are not reentries.

I wish there were more non-reentry tournaments as well though. Casino might benefit from those as well in the form of more cash game play.

So, I was looking at the marshy water area near the boat slips outside the hotels and I always see people with small boats and jet skis in the serpentine waterway. Would any of you know if it's possible to rent a boat or a jet ski around there? That looks like a nice way to blow some poker winnings.

They have jet ski and wave runner rentals in Brigantine, (which is like a stones throw away) if that's what you're referring to. They're right on the main strip(Brigantine Blvd.) when you cross the bridge.

Thanks, man. Would you happen to if they did small boats too?

I've seen boat rentals advertised in AC. Do you have a valid Boating Safety Certificate? Its required. Info on boat rentals and the certificate are easy to find with Google.

I think that all the time. I've been at 2-5 the past 3 or 4 weekends for 10 hrs a day minimum and I try to match people to 2+2 users but I really have no clue.

so back in march i get my black card after putting in a bunch of volume at 10/25. then in the past week i played 50hrs of 5/10 NLHE (wednesday-saturday). back when i was red card holder i would still get 2 nights a week and sometimes weekends. now i'm only getting one night a week and no weekends.

i was also getting all weekends too after i moved up to 5/10 but no longer bla.

hella strange. wish i were still 2/5 red card player.

I was with you at the 5/10 for sure at one point. Specially since only 1 table going on Wednesday I was there for a brief bit.

Best way is to just say hello, I have meet a few people from the boards there and talk to them ever since. I make it easy to find me and say hello. I always have a backpack and it is dark blue and says Meridian Health on it.
