Why is that confusing? Both hole cards must play, and for quads those hole cards must be a pocket pair. Sounds pretty clear to me. This is also standard for most rooms' BBJs.

I put in a twelve hour session on Tuesday and was already seated when the BBJ Frenzy started at noon. During the course of the day there were multiple instances of floor people giving contradictory answers to questions about qualifiers, dealers who didn't even know what the BBJ Frenzy was, the overhead TV screens were still stating that the minimum qualifying hand was quad deuces, dealers and floorpeople who knew the Frenzy was starting that day but who thought it was starting at 8:00PM, only a single poster sign in the entire very large room that displayed notice of the Frenzy, etc.

Well done Borgata poker management. I don't know why people think your communications have gone down the toilet since Stan left.

If you play AK. Board is AAK QX vs AQ what would be the ruling, for the small BB frenzy?

You are both using both hole cards. You both have aces full...

IF the qualifier has dropped to As full of Qs or lower, then that's a jackpot.

Agreed the communication is a disaster, they need to inform every dealer exactly the rules, have everybody on the same page, as well when you walk up to the front desk have a detailed explanation of the rules so people know what they should expect.

Are bookbags/backpacks allowed to be brought into the Borgata poker room?

Not arguing with you, but from Borgata's perspective what's the logic?

AK vs AQ counts on AAKQ2 but not AK vs KK on AAA23. Mathematically it's tougher to make quads over the boat, but that one doesn't count. I always assumed the logic in requiring the pocket pair for quads was to make it hit less often...

That's correct. Casinos do want to make it difficult to hit, but Borgata wants to make it easier once it reaches 50k. Why? I dunno. I'm often baffled by the marketing "geniuses" that casinos employ.

Most places where the qualifier is Aces full require pocket Aces for the full house, don't they? Perhaps someone at Borgata's had a very bad week for having forgotten to put that bit in.

I suspect it's an attempt to even out the BBJ-chasing traffic. Instead of only coming when there's a long shot at a big payoff, there's now a frequent, better shot at a small payoff, without completely eliminating the big. If you're a local reg who might otherwise spend your Tuesday afternoon at a CET property hoping to get your AA cracked or a high hand of the hour or whatever, you might now play instead at Borgata where you now have a shot at $2500 just for someone else's good/bad luck. It's less likely the big will top $500k (or even get close) again, but all those people who only come when it's big will be looking at their new chance at a smaller payday.

My best buds cousin is married to one of the high ranking execs at the Borgata and he was told they are doing this to increase traffic every day of the week rather then having days that are normally dead like a Tuesday or Wednesday only be busy when the bad beat is over 300k. They are hoping this gets in more foot traffic on those days. Plain and simple.

This is why, if you say you just have to use both cards on quads, then say a AAA22 board, somebody has A3+, somebody has 22, bad beat, it opens up a lot more possibility and makes it a lot easier.

Yes but they have to be put on the back of your chair, I hate the idiots who put it under the table and block your leg room, reason Borgata has the rule to put it on the back of the chair.

And for the bad beat, yes the whole reason of lowering the standards is to get the poker room full when the qualifier is Aces full of eights and it is a lot easier to hit. When the bad beat hit $500,000 you still had people asking, so does this place have a bad beat? So it did not draw in any people, now the locals know of the $50K and I bet you will flock to the casino after and before work every day.

Is it possible to get a box in the poker room to store cash/chips? I have been playing 2/5 there 6 - 8 days per month and a box would make my life easier...

How many 2-5 tables are running on average Monday and Tuesday nights? I might be changing up my schedule but won't do it if the games are no good Mon and Ties.

Monday and Tuesday are the worst nights of the week, I do not have the exact numbers, you should check Bravo, but I would say 3-4 2/5 games going on.
