I get what you're saying, and maybe they should offer it for a limited period or something, like 30 minutes a day, but they don't want to have people sitting in their rooms on the computer - they want you down on the casino floor gambling... So they don't want to give you too much in-room entertainment. That's why you don't see HBO on the TVs there, for example.

Cheap corporate greed and the reason I stay at my place in Mays Landing rather than get a room for the weekend. We need to get a petition for free wifi for poker players. It is amazing I can stay at the Quality Inn and Courtyard in Bensalem where wifi is free, but since my rooms are comped at Borgata they'll bang ya for 15+ tax.

6MaxLHE I agreed with you on this totally. Considering how the internet and mobile broadband and the access of it has become integrated into today society and become the norms everywhere we go. The Borgata by single this out and making it as an extra option that you the patron of their hotel will have to paid more for is showing that the management is falling behind on the current trend of what is and isn't standard in the industry of high end resort and luxury hotel. The argument that this will hurt their bottom line is weak. A man wearing golf shoes, golf clothes, carrying a club stepping on a golf course will swing. Peoples who visit casino will gamble regardless of free wifi or not. This is just blatantly greed, pure and simple.

I understand that the poker room and wpt series event has nothing to do with the hotel side of their business. I will play in April, but don't expect me to sleep in their hotel unless it's on comp. Why sleep there when any other property in AC will no doubt save me 4-500 dollars. I'm not a high-stakes player. I'm a budget player, and when you are on a budget you sleep where your money get you the best bed and play where the action is.

Do sit n' go's ever run on the weekends anymore?

If so, what buy-in is the most often one run?

Thanks in advance.

Been a while for me but the 100+20 & 250+30 ran all the time, maybe every 2 hrs? Right after the bust outs in the daily tourney s. During the opens you'd see even the 1000 run like 8 or 9, p.m.

I think the B would be better off starting them like every 90 min. Start at say 12 and next would be at 1:30 etc. You want to play one just show up 10 min before and sign in or swipe your card. Pay at the start of the game. Better than putting your name on a list then waiting to see if 9 other players show up...

You want to play... There it is, no waiting.

This. Even if we play online and gamble in our rooms, we're not contributing to tips, servers, food, drinks, or whatever impulse we decide to indulge. The casino wants people on the floor.

I use my phone as a wifi hotspot in the room and lets me do what I need to do.

I don't know about comps for player, but I just saw on the WPT site that there's a discount price.

Hotel Information

Sunday-Thursday: $89.00*
Friday: $159.00*
Saturday: $209.00*

Borgata Hotel & Casino
Phone: (609) 317-1000

Ask for Spring Poker Open rate (must present tournament receipt upon check-out to receive rates quoted at time of reservation).

*Based on availability at Borgata (+ taxes/fees)

I'm trying to decide if the price is cheap enough to for me to stay.

I've been playing off and on at Borgata for a long time (10 years), just your average 1-2 NL player (did manage to be at a BBJ table in 2010 and take home 12K as part of the split, I was not one of the two players in the hand). I live in Philly so the past year or two I've played mostly at Parx or Harrahs, but I do go down to Borgata to try and satellite my way into a WPT main event twice a year. I also have played in Seniors tournament and made two final tables. Anyway, I notice people asking about rooms. I still seem to get lots of comps, even with my red card and limited playing time (last visit I played 6-7 hours cash after getting knocked out of the Winter Open satellite).

Last fall, my wife and I got a comp room for a night at Bobbys Steak and today I went to check and in May alone 20 comp rooms available. I even booked one for April 21, no charge, in case I somehow manage to advance to the WPT main even via the Two Step satellite (a real long shot, but why not?).

Not sure what the criteria is for comp rooms, but using my time at the tables, it's a pretty low bar.

Again, I used to play there every 3 weeks for 7-8 years, for a day (10 hours or so, plus tournaments). Last two years, 4-5 times a year, max.

Got this thing in the mail about a bad beat jackpot frenzy. Can someone explain exactly how that works or relates to the main bad beat jackpot?

Is the BBJ Frenzy just the smaller BBJ?

I heard the dealers talk about the bad beat jackpot being changed to lowering every 4 hours so at some point would get all the way down to full house. I do not like the change and hope they are wrong.

Bad beat hit the same table as the one is December, I think I heard the flop was 234 something and guy had 23, if he would have bet the 78 would have folded, such a shame.

Sounds like it's something in the April mailer. Hasn't gotten here yet, and April promotions aren't on the site yet.

I'd say it's what happened when it hit, but on a Monday morning it was probably a pretty small frenzy.

I understand it now. Once the low BBJ hits $50,000 this is what happens:
AAAKK Noon
AAAQQ 4 PM
AAAJJ 8 PM
AAA10 Next day noon
AAA99 Next day 4 PM
AAA88 Next day 8 PM
77
66
55
44
33
22
So if the low one does not hit for 4 days, it lowers to KKKQQ. I like it, so people will start calling with Ace rag to try to hit the low bad beat, and then after 4 days KQ to KT and so on, after 8 days it is QQQAA, they are making sure the big one does not get high again though.

The mailer said AAA88 was the lowest it will go. Not as good as getting rid of the BBJ but this helps to pay it out more frequently.
