Just in time. There are too many variable sized racks in the room. Last time I went to the cage and asked for 5 racks and the cashier, who had a whole pile of empty racks next to her, said she could only give me 3. Okay. Anyway, all 3 were different sizes and I couldn't stack them on top of each other. So I guess the point of this post is just to brag that I needed 5 racks.

Banonlinepoker.....Just want to let you know that I agree with you completely and have also met with incredible resistance to my own complaints about the Borgata poker room. I too have spent time in multiple cardrooms including Vegas (where I just spent 5 weeks) and CT and as a whole, the player's in Jersey must not understand what a well run cardroom is. They accept substandard service in many areas, including the one's you have already mentioned, day after day and I think don't they even realize it.

Borgata just happened to open during the start of the "poker boom" so the their timing was perfect and as a result they gained the lion share of the market. Players wanted to play in the hippest and newest and freshest casino in town. There are a few exceptional shift managers and a couple good floor people and dealers but I know exactly where you are coming from.

In AC...because of their game selection there really is no other option right now....

Unfortunately in AC for years Borgata has a stranglehold on the market so there has been little motivation for them to correct these issues. With the opening up of the PA casinos we've seen an influx of "promotions" to keep and regain some of their lost players but the root of the problem really is customer service and a quality product.

Vegas kills you with kindness. And I'm not talking about with free rooms and comp dollars. I'm talking about that they really make you feel welcome and they are happy to see you!

Could not agree more with your last line.
Thanks for sharing.

-Great but I was in the main room and they never charge, you tip them.

-About the only thing Borgata does right is hire the hottest chicks but they are far from professional, most had attitudes and though they did their job well their outbursts were abominable in fact I have visted probably a hundred casinos in Conn, NJ, CA and NV in the last 10 years. Logged probably hundreds of hours in each and never have seen a cocktail waitress behave in that manner.

-The management doesn't care for it's customers, if the did they wouldn't have employees that acted that way. They seem to run their floor like a factory, and it shows.

bwahahaha I love when people make irresponsible statements like this and hope people consider it a fact. I can only assume that this was based on the market study you commissioned? The statement has no basis whatsoever.

I absolutely go to Borgata less ever since the Sands opened but only because its much closer to NYC. Anyone that's been there knows its a 2nd rate poker room but you can't beat the proximity.

Truthfully, the Sands is about on par to MS. Very nice rooms, but no Borgata.

I am unfamiliar with the Sands.

However....Everything I say based on is 7 years of personal experience playing at Borgata and is 100% truth so there is plenty of basis. I can back it up with pictures and could post examples of poor customer service and mistakes by dealers/floor people for every session I play. I assure you...it's not irresponsible. To say nothing would be irresponsible.

This is getting out of hand.

Like I said before, some of the criticisms are valid, while some are just nit-picky at best. I do think that noting some of the short-comings of the Borgata in this thread is beneficial, because Stan and his crew have demonstrated that they will address and fix any valid complaints. I see no other poker room that takes customer input like this.

Because of this interaction, I think it's irresponsible to bring up petty remarks that don't need fixing. Obviously the room has things it should address, but if you bring up a one-time "argument" between two waitresses (one of whom, I will add my name to the list in saying she's the best in the room), then it invalidates all your other potential valid notes.

Otherwise, your constructive criticisms come off as mad rant.

You continually say this makes no sense but never give a reason WHY it makes no sense. It makes sense because it avoids the entire ordeal of having to get up and get chips after you get your seat.

Now, how DOESN'T it make sense?

People are gonna complain I guess. As for the Sands, I've waited 45 minutes for a $1/$2 game over there. I was never seated, I just left.

If hasn't started then, so long as my best friend and I aren't too trashed at the Amphora Lounge, I'll be at the tables after 9 or 10 to help out.

If you don't want to sit with a rack of chips, buy big chips and just color down at the table. Problem solved. I honestly don't know what more borgata can do for poker players. I get free rooms on the weekend, free drinks free parking soft games and the floors/dealers rarely effect the action. The room is nice and spread out with tvs everywhere, if you want to watch something different the floors are very accomodating. Could Borgata be better? Of course. I can't really say anything bad about the place I've never made it out west but most of the people I talk to say the Poker rooms aren't really any better than Borgata.

When I walked in today all of the cashier cages in the poker room were open for business and there was no line to speak of to buy chips, games were opened promptly, and I got the drink I wanted, when I wanted it...

It was my pleasure, you made some very good points as well. I think people that frequent that card room for the most part don't get out to the west very often.

What's your real agenda
I don't have one. Merely stating the obvious.

Hell the card rooms in San Diego county are better run than the Borgata.

Having an absolutely rude person being the first person a patron see and interacts with is not a rant. It's totally unacceptable. When you feel like you are pulling teeth to get your fricken name on a wait list you have an issue.

Quote:
Now, how DOESN'T it make sense?
It doesn't make any. I don't want to have to carry around a rack of chips while I wait. That is what the casino staff is for. Seat me and get me checks.

This guy is dead on. Free rooms, free drinks, free parking, soft games, no wait time, dealers/floor rarely effect action. If you dont like borgata, then dont come. The room will go on without you, quite happily actually

Roughly how much play at what stakes do you have to put in before you start seeing free weekend rooms?
