Just came home. Had another fun afternoon and evening playing $25 blackjack and 1-2 PLO with $5 bring-in at table 51, and chillin at the Amphora Lounge. After nearly four hours of play of poker, I made my 11th consecutive bust-out. The hand...I flop set of kings with a K-high flush re-draw vs. opponent's flopped low pair and A-high flush draw. Non-pair flush card came on the river. Done. I was always first to act and bet pot on all streets to knock him out. And despite having 2:1 pot odds, he called everytime and got paid on the river.

Other interesting stuff:
- When I first came to the poker room to sign up, there were over 20 names on the 1-2 PLO list. When the game got called to start, roughly 10 minutes after I signed up, 7 showed up.

- If you look at the PLO placard next to the dealer, you would see a handwritten addition that says "Omaha Hi." Per the dealer, the reason for the add was because many players earlier today asked if it were 1-2 Hi/Lo or Hi.

- Based on the huge high-fives and cheers made by the players from some table near the cashier and many people looking at the scene, the Bad Beat Jackpot probably got hit.

- Kudos to the floor who instantly caught a person lighting up a cig near the tourney table area.

Will be back this Friday Night for an all-nighter! :-)

The PLO list was long all day and they waited forever to call it. I wasn't planning on playing, but if I had been, I wouldve definitely been annoyed about 15+ players on the list for hours before it went.

The bad beat did get hit, but it was the small one.

Two questions for people who know more than I....

If you are offered a regular room, a water club, or a fiore all comped, does taking the "more expensive" rooms negatively affect you in anyway?

If it says "you need 1,000 points by June 1st 2012 to maintain your black label" and you earn those 1,000 points by January 2012. Do you then need to earn another 1,000 by January 2013 or do you have till June 2013?

Not a fan of this double entry trend.

reminds me of 2003 and 2004 when I first started playing and everything was a rebuy. Doesnt help you find your game for higher level tournaments.

So at like 12:30 in the morning I win like a $500 pot. 10 minutes later I tell the table it's now my birthday, and someone mentions how the pot was a gift for me. The guy who lost the most in that pot then goes" what's sad is yesterday was my birthday...."

Was playing most of the night behind the PLO game, man saw some deep stacks. Seat 1 had like what, 4k or more towards the end? Also props to seat 10 in the PLO game if you are a 2+2er for multitabling with us and providing entertainment (was in seat 10 for the NLH game).

Hey Stan and Tab, thanks again for running another terrific Saturday series tournament yesterday (the $350+50 100K guarenteed). Any chance you guys will post the final results for this event?

Missed the big bad beat by one card with KK on KKJ flop vs JJ. Kept both players in till the river but wasn't meant to be . I'll take the double up. Debating heading up for a short session today. Trying to get some hours in so I may play the freeroll.

rofl that was hilarious. I was in the 9 seat next to him in the PLO and just laughing my head off. It was a sick sick game. Somehow the open became 15 and pots would be 4-5 ways to flop for 15-30, and huge pots were played. I was lucky to double up + change my first 2 hands then i saw the flop 3-4 times and missed and left lol.

What's the rake for the 2/5 NLHE games? I was playing yesterday and was charged $10/hr for what I assume was the BBJ.

No rake. They take $5 per half hour instead. $1 per pot (if the pot is $50 or more) is taken out for the bbj

Is the difference in play between 1/2 and 2/5 great? I'm thinking about taking a shot this week when I go.

Not really. You get less people spazzing out and calling it off with Q4 on a q-high board, but thats about it

The new $140 bounty tournament on Mondays looks very appealing. I see the one on the 11th had 138 total players. Anyone have any idea how long into the night that tournament lasted?

It doesn't negatively affect you in any way to take the water club room or the fiore suite over the classic room. Also, your black label card would then be good until June 2013.

Also there was some discussion a couple weeks back about the availability of the Borgata Poker Rule Book. I got one from the staff this weekend and had to laugh a little bit: For some reason I expected a leather-bound, legal document written in outline form. Instead it was a pamphlet that looked more like a take-out menu, brighly colored with a variety of fonts

Still had some fun with it though. Was reading some parts out loud to the table, learning what the "stub" is, and an interesting section on table etiquette (which were not rules but just recommendations).
