Small TR, more of an accolade:

Came down with wife July 5-7. Played 1/2 (unsuccessfully, but lots of fun as always), but wife was upset that most table games had $15 minimum so I agreed to go to the boardwalk to check out some other places.

It's insane how much better Borgata's poker room is compared to the others I went to this trip AINEC.

Sat at Showboat at the only 1/2 table (other running table was 2/4 limit), everyone had $50-$100 in front of them. Felt kind of silly sitting with $300 before checking the stacks first. I was in seat 8 and with my eyesight I prefer seat 1, 5, 6 or 10. Asked for a seat change button, dealer had no clue what I was talking about. Same dealer couldn't count the cash handed to him correctly, he was given 3 $20s and 4 $10s and tried giving the player $80 in chips and was confused when everyone tried to correct him. Within 15 minutes people had busted and gotten up and it was 4 handed. I scrammed to play some table games with the wife.

At Caesar's was first on waitlist for the one table running. When a seat opened, the floor was on the phone on what sounded like a personal phone call so I sat myself. When he finally got off the phone I went over to have my card swiped and told him to take my name off the list as I was the next name. The waitlist grew to about 4 more names so they opened a second table, including calling my name (and I repeatedly told them I was already seated, but they continued to call my name). So the other table started short and a few people at my full table picked up and moved to which several players protested. They pointed out the people who moved and the floor went over and told them they couldn't move and instructed them to come back. Only one did and there was no follow up. I don't know the rule, but the fact that players were ignoring the floor's instructions without consequence didn't speak well of the management.

Ended up playing let it ride at Bally's the rest of the day, still had fun, but just reinforced how well run Borgata is. Next time any of you feel there are issues at Borgata, just remind yourself how much worse it is elsewhere.

I'll be back first or second week in August if anyone wants to sit with this fish and get some easy money, see you then.

Matt

One more thing, don't mean to be crude, but it goes without saying there's no comparing Borgata waitresses to any other casino in terms of eye-candy appeal.

Wait there was only 1 table of 1/2 running at Caesars? That seems odd, even if it was a weekday, every time I'm there (never play poker, but I always pass by the room) it seems like there's at least 5-10 tables of action.

Played at the Borgata the past couple days. Logged about 25 hours in 1/2. Granted is it normal for games in the AM to be that much better then day time games? Cause I played from 9pm to 10am in what was playing like a 5/10 game considering the action. It was a utopia. People were calling off 4-500 with top pair ridiculous kicker. Calling flop bets of a 100 with gutshots. It was absurd. The days games were no were near as loose or profitable. It made me sad. Otherwise it was good fun. Great action and good games. Even made friends with a waitress which was odd considering I used to log a ton of hours years back and they never really talked to me then. I must have improved in the looks department with age. Ha. Great time though.

Thanks Stan. Did not come on the site during my visit. It is no big deal, super nitty of me to even bring it up. I just go every first week of July and every first week of September and the same thing happens to me. I don't understand why they don't mail them the week BEFORE so that us players that go that first week of the two month cycle don't miss out on the freebee. Like I said, no biggee.

Had a great time as always. Love your room and your hotel. Will be back for event one of the WPT.

Sometimes the card shufflers are hard on the cards. I have never had a problem getting a card replaced if it might compromise the integrity of the game. There is really nothing to worry about here as the floor and dealers are attentive and sensitive to replace any cards that need to be changed.
YES! I had many cards that had a vertical crease in them. Most where hard to see with the eye but I made them remove one 10 of hearts that was so blatant, I knew who had it. I am almost positive it is the shuffle machines because of the consistency of the mark/crease and the randomness of which cards had them.

One bad beat note from me. Thursday's 7pm, about 5 minutes into level three.

Player three bets to 600, I three bet him to 1800 with my K/K. Four callers (player to my left says under his breath "you have not played a hand yet, what are they calling with?).

J/J/2 rainbow flop. Check, I check, check, check, check position guy bets 3000. Everyone folds but me.

Turn a 7. I check position guy goes all in (has me covered). A little over 20K in pot. I tank. I think out loud. "Did you not re-raise aces pre? Did you call with A/J suited? No, you did not. Do you have J/J? Only A/A or J/J has me behind I think. I call". He says "You have kings, eh?" I show him. He shows Q/Q. Can anyone guess what the river was?

He then precedes to do a victory lap around the table yelliing "Did you see that? That was an ESPN moment. What a play!" Uh, yeah. You got your money all in with one card to come and hit your 2 outer. Nice 5% play dip ****.

I saw the free parking offer in my account online but didn't get the actual pass in the mail yet. I just gave my Borgata card to the parking cashier when I left last Thursday and they swiped it and all was good.

Yea I've taken to just asking the attendant to swipe my pass. Worked on the fourth when I hadn't got my pass yet. I also saw $5-$10 min tables being spread. Really depends on the day/crowd.

Yeah, we saw and played, but later in the evening they went up to $15. Wanted to start somewhere we knew it wouldn't change too much. Knowing the house odds for those games my wife and I would rather lose our money slowly. Of course I'd rather be in the poker room, but it's fun to sit next to the wife as well.

Odd thing is for this trip I made back my poker losses at the table games, usually the other way around for my trips.

On Friday morning when I was there, there was a $5 table across from the big wheel (nearby Mixx and Amphora Lounge entrance.)

(FYI: That famous table used to be near the Gypsy Bar before the whole area turned into a whole complete Asian game area.)

I did not know that the offer was on the Borgata card. Thanks.

I still do not understand why they just don't send out the mailer a week before the offer starts, not after.
