I'm finally 21 after my epic time in Vegas. Now that I'm back home in Jersey, I'm looking to come down to Borgata on Monday for 1/2 NL Hold'em. Has a schedule been released for the WPT Borgata Open yet?

Stan, question about the monthly 50+hour freeroll. When will the one in July be held? How many people usually play it on average? Do people with 75hours of play get more starting chips? I'm just wondering if it'll be worth my time, as a borgata 2/5 reg, to play the tourney. Answers to these questions would make me make my decision easier. Thanks Stan. I also met you the other day, and it was a pleasure meeting you.

We got 4-8 HORSE going last night after we played short handed PLO for a while and only solid players remained . We got through a full orbit of games and only attracted one player. It was a pretty fun and relaxing. Hopefully, this can be more regular of an occurence.

Just came back to from Borgata. 1-2 PLO was great, then it turned into good 4-8HORSE. Lots of fun explaining dealers the rules of razz.

Played in a pretty live 2-5 game earlier Sunday afternoon... Highlight of the day was when an older lady announced she had broadway on an 3-4-j-2-k board as she turns over A5!! This is after she check called $90 into a $110 pot on the flop.. Anyone who says action at Borgata is slowing down is out of their minds!!

Had a great experience the past 2 weekends at Borgata. The 1/2NL, 2/5NL, and 20 stud games are all great action. I especially enjoyed the 2/5NL games. Sat at 5 different 2/5 tables in 5 sessions and while the table dynamics were different at each table, I feel that the vast player pool is a great asset to the room.

Playing with 5/10NL players waiting for a seat and the 2/5 regulars are just fantastic for the game. Luckily I ran well and had a number of players willing to call off 3/4 pot and full pot sized bets on turn and river b/c their egos wouldn't let them fold 2nd pair/top pair/two pair hands on ugly boards to a recreational player who they felt was trying to push them off pots.

The 20 stud game is sometimes solid, other times passive, but always friendly (obv since I was the fish that made the game). When playing with the 20 regs, I was lucky enough to run them down in a few pots and win a bit. Two Fridays ago, I couldn't miss. Made plenty of draws and was able to bet some stronger hands out of pots. Last Friday, I played well and was able to catch some free cards on 6th and 7th to beat some 20 regs who probably didn't bet me off my hands b/c I had the image of a player who didn't mind paying another big bet to make a hand. Last Saturday, sitting with some 75 regs waiting for a seat, my mistakes and lack of card-catching were greatly exploited, prompting me to rack up and go sit at a better NL game.

As an aside, I used the poker room bathroom numerous times during busy hours and not once noticed any kind of smoke issue. The 2/5 games saw maybe 1 or 2 short buyers who burnt through their $100s (I played about 30 hours of the game and the short buyers maybe accounted for 1-2 hours of those sessions), but their play never botched the game's "flow" at all.

The standard King non-smoking room was fantastic. Room service was great. The only complaint I could have about the entire experience is having to pay $12 each time I wanted to work out. The fitness center is light years better than any other hotel has to offer, but I can't justify that kind of cost for a 90 minute workout. Given that I really enjoy playing stud, along with the bigger game selection @ 2/5, Borgata is hands down the best room in the entire city for my entertainment.

Planning on stopping in today for a little bit. Also checked my offers today and saw my birthday had the hook up on a water club room. Very nice surprise.

Stan,

Just wanted to commend one of your dealers... David (don't know his last name) got us out 30+ hands in one push at the $10/20 game on Saturday! He broke his personal record! Plus he was hand shuffling on a few of them since the auto-shuffler was having some problems. As a former dealer, I can appreciate the effort. Great job David!

Am happy that someone here gave Borgata the credit it's due. My experiences there have been overwhelmingly positive but this thread is filled with one-off complaints of isolated dealer mistakes, etc. I guess that comes with the territory when dealing with poker players who as a group are pretty crabby & miserable people in general. But IMO the Borgata has great facilities, a professional and organized operation, great action & winnable games, and not ONCE in the 50+ times I've been there has there been smoke in the bathroom!!

The mistakes I've seen have always been far from isolated. Quite repetitive actually and they're year over year by the same dealers. But glad the smoking issue has been extinguished. Looking forward to a smoke free bathroom when I return from Vegas in a couple weeks!

lol @ no smoking in the bathroom. Ive been here 2 weeks and have encountered it half a dozen times. In addition, people leave their half-smoked cigarettes on the top of the granite walls so they can come back for them later. If you haven't smelled smoke in there, you're either running good or not very sensitive to it at all.

I agree With matty, the $12 for daily use of the gym is ridiculous. It should be free for black card holders imo. Just like the pool is free, the gym should be free. It would make guests alot happier. It sucks that I have to play six hours of 2/5 nl in order to pay for my 60 minute workout.

I encourage anyone who has not done so to check out the My Borgata Rewards website when wanting to book a room @ Borgata. I just used it for the first time and it was incredibly user-friendly. I also was surprised at how many comped days were available to me.
