Let's say a new game is called. If someone says, let's play OE and everyone agrees to play OE, then it's OE.

If someone says, "I don't want to play E" then there's usually no E.

That's it for the most part.

Sometimes an existing OE might drop the E if it will get some more players to sit.

i'm old for this forum. been playing pretty seriously since like 2001 and professionally from 2003-2006 before joining the working world. the borgata is by far my favorite place to play out east. it isn't even close. they have basically won my business entirely and others who live 1.5-2hrs from fw.

further, the responsiveness of stan here appears to be pretty top notch. there are problems w/ the borg, but c'mon...it's a freaking poker room. i've NEVER seen a perfectly well run poker room.

there's a reason: it's not ****ing easy!!

poker rooms never get the fund allocation that bigger profit centers in casinos get. but the best run rooms do get the highest proportion of the market. and on that measure, the borg is clearly up there if not #1 (i think maybe fw makes more b/c it's the only room really around for farther CT/NY and the more northern states...so it has a monopoly for big games and the MS just blows at running a poker room).

i mean c'mon. stan lists the games, gives reports, and does appear to be attentive to the best of his ability.

in terms of the smoking, i'm not sure how i'd handle that as a floor. i think there should be repercussions but it's hard to monitor the bathroom since you have to catch them in the act. i agree w/ some sort of strike policy.

overall, again, borg is a great room and it has successfully won my business. i'll be there this weekend w/ my gf staying at the water club courtesy of the AWESOME comp structure there. i'll be playing poker and we'll be playing black jack as well. we may see whatever show is there too and will obv be eating there.

great work stan!
+1... Borgata is the ONLY place to play in AC and even on the East coast... and Stan and Tab do an incredibly admirable job every day... Although players should continue to discuss any MAJOR deficiency or problem they see, the nit-picking and stop posting stupid stuff like: 'Stan, someone just bumped my chair while walking behind me, so please remodel the entire freakin poker room' .... Act like men and women, not babies....getting tired of so many players acting like children at the tables and in forums.

Anyone here get semi deep in the 11am MTT today? I played with a couple of people who I thought might have been 2+2ers late in the event.

I always wonder how u would know. Whenever I sit down, I look at the most valid candidate and I give him a "Wassup bro". Only once (at Sands, pa) did a player respond that was a 2+2er!

Stan does better than merely 'appear to be attentive' - like Joe 'En Barranquilla me Quedo' Arroyo ( 1955 – Barranquilla, 26 July 2011) , Stan never misses.

Same here... Congrats! You had the black hat on. I was in the 6 seat with the black t-shirt and earbuds. Pushed my A7 and the monster chipleader had AJ in the BB.

So how would people here assess the borgata's game? I have played their occasionally and the dealers and staff are top notch, but I have found that the game isn't as soft as it is at other casinos. Of course this is based off of a relatively small sample size so i was hoping someone here could give me more feedback. How does it stack up, playerbase wise, to other casinos during different times of day/different days of the week?

The Borgata doesn't necessarily have the worst players. There may be worse players at other poker rooms. The Borgata will have more tables, so you can be table selective if your first table isn't to your liking. This may not be possible at other places. This is especially true for both weekday games (where there may only be 1 table going at other rooms of a certain game) and weekend games (where Borg has a whole lot more tables than anywhere else).

Table selection is a very big part of my game, this is very good to know, thanks. I would guess there is still an adequate amount of fish to pad the BR anyways, yes? Also, do you recognize a big difference in play between the 1/2 and 2/5 at borgata?

For the millionth time, the general consensus (and my personal experience as well) is that there is NOT a big difference at all, and in fact the 2/5 may be better at certain times.

1/2 ATM that dispenses coins only

2/5 ATM that dispenses paper money in small to mid sized denominations

No reason to be rude like that. I understand that this is the norm but as Bogata usually attracts more of the 2+2 type crowd (as well as a 5/10 game) there is the possibility that it can deviate from said norm, which is why i asked.

how can people say that the players at 1/2 are not significantly worse than the players at 2/5?

sure there's heaps of bad people at 2/5, but you will find absolute droolers at 1/2, just like any other casino.

I was not trying to be rude, sorry if it came off that way. I do think that there should be a sticky or something though, especially for the Borgata, as many questions in this thread are repeated endlessly. Also, as someone who has played hundreds of hours at many different limits (1/2nl, 2/5nl, 20/40, 40/80) I can say with confidence that if the Borgata really does "attract more of the 2+2 crowd", it is pretty tough to notice judging by the caliber of play in any of these games.
