I don't think so. I signed up for the waiting list the past few times I was there, but there were never more than 4 or so on the list.

It appears to me that you want to skip the arraignment process and go directly to trial. Skip that and get a dismissal. Well, I am not about to revamp the entire judicial process just because to find yourself in the unique position of (I need to know the outcome).

Seriously, please let the system work and let us figure out the right outcome. So what if it takes a few more days. The right decission is more important than a hasty one.

Well said, Stan. I for one applaud you for wanting to get it right, as opposed to getting it "right now".

Assuming blind structure is similar to past deep stack events, you're really going to enjoy this. So much play for your $. Good luck to you. I'll be there as well!

Would've been funny to see Stan go on tilt and quote from "Raging Bull" -

Stan gave me a call the other day and we're doing some work towards resolving this. To the extent that he's able to help, I'm satisfied that he's made his best effort to do so thusfar. It seems like he may be working with some constraints from higher up the chain of command, and I intend to present my case to his boss in a firm but respectful way in the near future.

What Stan said about respecting me is certainly reciprocated; he's a good manager doing his best to make things right in a messy situation. I've always found him to be professional and accomodating of his players' concerns, and the past week has reinforced that view. As much as I'd like a resolution to my particular situation, of equal concern to me and greater concern, I suspect, to most of you, is how the room intends to handle such issues in the future. So what I'd like is a clarification of the rules going forward on a few points.

In the future, I think (and you've told me) the process for the clock being called should look something like this. A player calls the clock and the floorperson comes over. She examines the context of the situation (how big the decision is, how much time has elapsed so far) and determines whether to begin a countdown. As she begins, she tells the customer "Now I'm going to count down a minute. At the end of the minute I'll count down from 10 seconds to zero. At the end of that time, your hand will be mucked." She then counts down exactly as described and kills the hand at the end of that period, with NO discretion on her part to give additional time or allow a call to be made after that point.

That part should be easy, and I'm assuming you'll agree with me. The second part is where I really need some clarification, and where your other customers might appreciate it as well.

Let's say hypothetically that your floor botches the ruling and allows a customer to make a call well after time has expired, and that your shift supervisor upholds her mistaken ruling. How are we, as your customers, supposed to react? I'm assuming that you'll want us to do exactly what I did: put the money in the pot and give it to the opponent as instructed, and then complain up the chain of command to you at the nearest possible time. In that case, if it can be clearly established that the facts of the case are substantially as we describe them to you through the testimony of other players at the table and/or video tape, how are we going to be protected? Are we still in a position where we're going to lose thousands of dollars if your staff makes a bad decision, or are you and your superiors willing to give us an assurance that if mistakes are made in the future we'll be fully compensated for them?

I'd like to be clear that I don't think that this is a question about Stan's ability as a person or a manager; I'm convinced that he's a genuinely good guy and a competent manager. My question's really directed at the corporate people higher up the latter, and I'm hopeful that we can get an answer from them through Stan. I guess the question really boils down to what sort of a company this is and what sort of people are running it.

Hey,

I got a question that hopefully someone can answer. I'm coming up to the Borgata on Friday night for some poker. I don't want to pay the $300+ for a room nor to I want to leave the casino to stay somewhere else. Does the Borgata have any rules about taking a nap in your car for a few hours in the parking garage. I looked on their site and couldn't find an answer.

I know some casino encourage it to get you to come back in and play more. Others send security guards out to your car. Does anyone know for sure what Borgata's policy is?

Thanks for the help!

If history is any guide, during the Summer Open, the last Deep Stacks Turbo held on Thursday, 6/17 had 363 runners at a slightly lower buy-in ($200+$30). First place paid just over 20k.

I have both seen people sleeping in their cars and heard of people doing the same thing. I do not think security will come out and tap on your window, but I would exercise extreme caution: you never know who lurks around those garages. Just because the doors are locked doesn't mean your safe.

GL

ps~ win enough money and buy the room for the night!

if you sleep in your car don't do it with your cash on your person. at least lock it in the glove box if you can't keep it elsewhere.

common practice imo. at the borgata, i think the surface lot is your best bet. not too many people lurking around out there but more than enough foot traffic and the jitney roaming around. ive done it on a few occasions and have never had an issue with it. make sure you get out there semi-early though...once the sun comes up, it's brutal out there.
