Pretty crazy if true that a 20 yr old is playing 5/10.

Anyone else hear about this?
How do you know that he's 20? Maybe he's 19 or 18 or younger.

Why would it be crazy that a young guy is playing 5/10?

Its a capped buy in game, seen plenty of guys playing uncapped online games for a lot more than buying in for $2k and a lot younger than 20...

There are uncapped games online? But yea, there are definitely under 21 year olds crushing mid-high stakes online, even guys like jungleman and deldar are under 21 who play REALLY high.

Haven't played much recently with the start of the school year (gg kids) but I am planning to play in the first 11:30pm this Friday and *maybe* the Sat 11am if I'm not up all night and too tired.....

I need a live poker fix!

A recent thread here has me a bit concerned. Generally when one leaves the table, they leave their chips at the table, sometimes for over an hour. I have not heard of any issue with incorrect stack size after returning. If i come back from a break and im short 50,, what happens after they review the tape and find a culprit? Am i out of luck if they left the casino until they possibly return. Are players compensated? Do we have to count our stacks or bring our money at the table everytime we leave to receive it? I had not previously thought of this due to the fact i have faith in the floor dealers and other players to prevent this.

which is why if you leave for a while, stack your chips in even stacks.. and top each stack with a white or something. Then the camera can see you left with an exact amount and even easier to see if the stack changed and who did it.

Personally, I find it rude to leave your chips at the table for over an hour. Pick them up and get on the dinner list. I hate when people walk when there is a list. But since that is not going to happen I hope they get you for more than 50. In no way should the casino be responsible or the dealers.

Wow. It's rude and I'd never do it but I don't endorse people getting robbed if they get held up somewhere.

At Caesar's in Atlantic City they'll put a box around your chips if you ask for one. This is the only casino I know of that does that though.

Borgata does this all the time in the high limit games. I've never seen it asked for in the big room but I can't imagine they would refuse if you had some crazy stack.

Rules question: must-move gets shorthanded and a player says they wont play short. The game continues shorthanded for awhile and eventually the player sitting out is moved. Do they need to post to get into the main game?

Probably. If the player sitting out gets a missed big blind button, then the button would be moved to the main game.

I agree, however the argument is that they're not forced to play short, therefore they shouldn't be penalized.

OK, never been to Borgata b4.
I'm carless, and the tour bus from Scranton can drop me off @ either Caesar's or the Trop.

Doing my due dilligence on this:
http://forum.dahon.com/index.php?showtopic=9464

In the meantime [b4 I get a folding bike that they'll let me take on the bus],
I know that there's jitney buses that go from near Caesar's/Trop to Borgata.

Any info regarding the jitneys would be useful, as the staffs @ Caesar's and
Trop have feigned cluelessness when I've asked.
[becuz Harrah's told them to, obv. ]

Also... does Borgata spread 1-5 stud?
If so, is it
new style [0.50 ante, 1.00 bring-in] i likez this kind
-or-
old style [0 ante, 1.00 bring-in]

thx in advance [i hope]
$pike

no Borgata doesn't spread stud under 30/60 except in rare occasions. During Labor day they had 5/10 and 10/20 but they do not have it other wise. Taj has 1/5. Are you 50+? I played it once as a joke and everyone had like 16 dollars and it was the nittiest thing i'd ever seen.

The Jitneys are easy to use. To get to Borgata, just find a stop on the south side of Pacific Ave and take the #2. It costs $2.25. The signs at the stops make it easy to figure out which jitney to take.

I've seen and heard 5/10 and 10/20 HOSE called occasionally recently.

Yea that would be me, I always start a 5/10 and 10/20 HOSE list and ask the floor o announce it on the Loud speaker. I'm yet to get a game off

They also aren't forced to leave their chips on the table. This doesn't exactly answer your question, but if the player doesn't want to receive a missed blind button when he stops playing, he should just pick up his chips.
They will still call him to the main game when it is his turn.

Anytime a player misses their blind and sits out of an active game shorthanded or not they must leave their chips at the table, receive a BB button, and post when they are moved to the main game.

However, if at any point during the shorthanded game the must move breaks, the player missing the BB is entitled to free hands behind the button when they are moved to the main game.

The player that sits out of the must move is not being penalized. Rather the players that are actively involved in continuing the must move are extended the courtesy, by the house, of free hands behind the button. Essentially because they never actually missed the BB.
