Stan: Only events 8, 14, and 24 are re-entry events, but the details for events 7 and 11 also say a person can re enter once is busting (before level 4). I assume this is a mistake?

tks.

If you cash it's good for 5-7 hrs. But they are not running till Feb 6th due to the WPT event. It's all 3pm, $200+ survivor and 7pm, $150+ cash events:

Who knows how long those will run..

Is the Borgata Winter Open a WPT event? I thought the Borg's only WPT event was the Borgata Summer Open.

I'm pretty sure the summer open has never been a WPT event.

FWIW Foxwoods always has had a 2/4, 4/8, and 5/10 kill game, which seemed like a natural progression (basically doubling stakes). I just never understood the 2/4, 3/6, 10/20 jump. 6/12 was cool back in the day.
I'm a low limit live grinder and I would love to see the 2/4 eliminated for the 3/6 ---> 6/12 progression. Most of the players at 2/4 would still play 3/6 if they did that, and the rake is so much less oppressive at 3/6.

Similar situation in Las Vegas. There is a lot of 2/4 on the strip, but Mirage starts at 3/6 and those games are just as soft - and overall are softer due to lower rake impact.

You have to register in person at this stage. We now have well over 300 registered as of 8pm tonight. Registration will end at 10pm and reopen at 8am in the morning upstairs. We should register well over 400 by the end of the night. This one is gonna be big. If you do not register tonight you might find yourself in a long line in the morning. So, if you are here right now please register.

When you first enter the poker room, there is a desk on the right hand side with a couple TVs above with the lists of games. Talk to the person sitting at the left side of the desk (toward the poker room). They will take your initials and put you on the list for whatever game you want to play. If there is an open seat, they will direct you to a floor person that will seat you.

Initial buy-in is at the cage. For the high-limit room, they will occasionally have chip runners. If you need to buy more while you are playing, you can get more chips from the dealer. Remember that the cage will only sell chips in stacks of 20, so you can't buy $115 in chips. Also, make sure you get the same denomination chips as everyone else at the table. If you are playing 2/4 or 3/6, you will probably want to use white chips so you aren't constantly needing change. However, you probably don't want all white for a NL game as that takes a long time to count out your bets. The floor person who is seating you can help if you just ask what size chips you should buy.

Yes. I haven't seen or heard of an instance where somebody's chips were taken while they were gone (except if you are gone for an hour or more, the floor may "pick you up" so that your seat can be given to somebody else). If you are playing limit where cash on the table plays, then I would take the cash with you if you leave the table, but make sure you put it back when you get back.

If you miss your blinds, the dealer will give you a Big Blind button. When you come back, you have the option of posting your missed blinds (post a big blind and your small blind goes into the pot) or you can wait until the blinds come around and you are the big blind again. The dealers will be more than happy to help you out with that.

Normal tournaments, yes. The big tournaments that are going on for the next couple weeks will be held in the Event Center. Somebody at the poker desk can help you out.

PC stands for Pink Chip. The most common PC game is $7.50/$15 lmit hold'em ($5 small blind/$7.50 big blind). In the last couple days, people have been talking about trying to get a $5/$10 limit game going using pink chips.

Enjoy your time at the Borgata. It takes a lot of effort to not have any fun.

1. best bet is to sign up at front desk, but you can sign up at the podium where the computers are if a floor person is there.
2. first buy in at cage.
3. yes, you can leave table at borgata and not worrry about your chips.
4. daily tourneys are held in same room.
5. PC game is limit poker. chips are pink (hence the name) and are valued at $2.50 Blinds are $5.00 and $7.50 (two chips, three chips)

PS, great choice to make Borgata your first casino, you may never play in a better card room. Good Luck!

DO NOT FORGET TO GET A PLAYERS CARD!!!

Make sure you get one when you arrive, and have a floor person swipe your card in when you are called to your game. When you leave, stop by the front desk to clock out. If you forget to clock out, your play is not recorded.

You earn comps for your play, with the possibility depending on how much you play of receiving offers such a future free parking, comped/special rate rooms, etc.
