Nice to meet you too Rusty, where were you sitting at the beginning of day 2?

I'll be back next month for the summer main event

Table 3, seat nine, right in front of day 1 chip leader. That was bad. A lot of hands I tried to limp with interesting if not spectacular cards, and he would just grab a handful of chips, and I would have to fold.

Is it just me and my unlucky table selection, or did the general level of douchiness pick up as of late? The last time I played 1/2 at Borgata, there were no less than three intentional slowrolls during the session, by two different players. There were also the usual hostilities by the regs towards fishes who got lucky (with me being one of those on the receiving end).

People need the lighten up, although I can understand why someone who's a 1/2 or 2/5 reg would be in a perpetually sour mood.

last time i went there on my last day of the trip i got a seat in 2/5 around 2 on a friday
my table consistated of 1 crazy asian, 7 old nits who all knew eachother

early on some nit with like 225 and ak raised to like 30 pre, asian calls with 52 off
flop
a4k asian c/c 60 hits a 3 on the turn and literly everyone at the table goes off on him
i was honestly read to leave due to the combination of nittiness and beratement but after me and the asian kept reraising eachother pre and playing big pots heads up they started complaining
finally i limp raised qq to 125 with about 700 behind, the asian called
flop ak3 i bet 200 he shoves i call he has 77

the funny part was a little earlier one of the old nits was a nice guy and were were bsing the hole time about baseball
the asian makes it 10 gets a claler i make it 50 with jj, the nit looks at his cards and a;; of the sudden shuts up
im like fml he has aa or kk
he pops it to 200 straight and everyone folds and he shows aces shockingly and i told him i had a pair
after my qq hand he punches the table and says " hwo can you fold a pair when i have aces but call an all in with queens with an ace and king on the board" lmao
they started telling us that we're "ruining the game" and within a half an hour all had left, and were replaced by a lot of bad players
within an hour almost every pot was 6 to the flop for b/w 50 and 200 dollars

$100-$500 and $500-$2,000. The min. for 5/10 may be $400, iirc.

You need to beat him." which I, probably much to his chagrin, took as a compliment. It also cost his buddy a huge pot as he tried to FPS me and got taken to value town.
Two weeks ago some guy in the 10/20 told me at least twice how raising AK in the blinds was one of the biggest mistakes I could make in poker. A few hands later he cold called my raise with J3o and lost a big pot, but I guess that was a smaller mistake.

He wanted to play a hand in position against an obvious donkey that would idiotically raise AK out of the blinds. That his iso-cold call didn't work this time doesn't mean it is a bad strategy. He obviously is playing way above your head if you don't understand what he did and why he did it. Also, he is balancing his cold calling range so you can't play perfectly against him.

lol it's probably the same guy. you gunna be in town at all in the next week? im thinking of coming in. we need to get a few 2p2ers together and get a pink chip game running again. that was awesome last time. i love being 9 jack-and-cokes deep and still being mega +EV in a game (obv not against the 2p2ers, but the rando donks who start playing). it's fun times all around.

Hey Stan.

I looked over the page for the Borgata Summer Open at:

http://www.theborgata.com/Main.cfm?C...D971525B6E06FE

But I noticed that the "Details" links on the right side of the page don't work. I'm under the impression that the page is either new, and the links will be updated soon. Or, maybe, something wasn't done correctly and the links need to be fixed.

Either way, I thought that I'd let you know.

also: my favorite response when someone unreasonably berates me (meaning more than just a comment or two and just wont shut the **** up) is to ask them their coaching rates and inquire on whether i can set up a group of 10 sessions. ill string the conversation along as long as i can before they pick up my dripping sarcasm (usually takes the type of person who would berate someone like this at live poker a while to pick up on the sarcasm).

any tourny ive ever played in (1 lol) or railed at the borg has looked like a super soft donk fest to me, but i dont have a very large sample size. i'd assume it would be super soft. if the sunday mil (215) field on stars is soft, then a live 250 donkament would have to be i think.

Hey.

I'm planning on going down to AC this weekend. I've never played in a real casino before (that had more than 1 poker table).

I booked a room at the Sheraton (cheapest option b/c of points), and a bus to Bally's (since it seems to be a close walk to my hotel).

Should I be walking from Bally's to Sheraton? How should I make my way from the Sheraton to Borgata?

Thanks.

Sheraton to Bally's is a safe walk. It's through "The Walk" where all the outlet stores are. Sheraton to Borgata sounds like a good opportunity for a cab ride, or walk to a jitney stop.

It's tempting but I probably won't make it this weekend. :/

It's safe, but ONLY during the day. At night the walk is going to be VERY deserted, and very dark. Done that once, scared the **** out of me, even though nothing actually happened.
