If your playing in the high limit area (this is non applicable for the tourney areas) generally speaking we will plug our phones in the back wall past the fake rail in front of the fake italien mural...

Never heard of anyones phone being taken from there... But most of us regs all know eachother

For us mortals that play $1/$2NL all day (not meant to be mean!), even though I might be a 'regular' and know a lot of people, that doesn't eliminate the risk of my phone being stolen. Though I guess I could use those outlets since the high-limit area isn't prone to much spectator traffic. Maybe I'm just paranoid... but a secure charging station at Borgata would still be hip.

I will assume you are asking about 5/10 NL? Min Max is $500-$2000. Mid week 5/10 will be significantly rockier than weekends (though main exception is Wed Afternoons)

Look at Stans game reports, but generally will be one solid 5/10 game midweek with occassionally two.

Weekend 5/10 will easily have 2-4 tables consistently.

During WPT time in Sept, this will go up to 6-10 tables consistently on the weekends, with some overflow during the week as well.

Borgata Comps? Not sure what you are asking, but USING Borg comps at non Borgata related stores (IE food Court, Starbucks) are 2 comp dollars to one purchase dollar. All other Borgata related stores are 1:1.
Thanks, I appreciate it.

While charging stations during major tournaments or for high stakes games could be a great idea, I would personally hope that 1/2 and 2/5 players do not have the privilege to use this. I can only imagine sitting at a 2/5 table and every hand whoever is UTG and UTG +1 gets up and walks away for a hand to check their phone. Stan and other poker room managers already cater to the poker players so much and I could see why it could be a good idea for major tournaments. But to allow low stakes players to use these would cause the tables to be short which hurts both the players and the house.

After abusing the MS regs this past weekend, can't wait to come down next week for some of that sweet sweet Borgata action.

Rather elitist no? And how would that be enforced?

To counter this point, how many people do you think get up all the time to use the bathroom, bs with others, get food, go smoke, etc?

Nevertheless, I agree with dela about the elitist tone... a poker player is a poker player. In reality, the high limit players already have places to charge their phones that are 'safe' from the general public. Stan and Tab go a great job of treating all poker players equally, so I do not think they would share your opinion of the castes that exist in the poker room.

If they only offered it during tournaments, it would be a step in the right direction.

People can't charge their phones before coming to the poker room? I don't understand why this is a big issue.

That said, I saw someone crawl underneath the table last time I was there to plus his phone into the socket where the shuffler plugs in.

I generally just bring an extra charged battery. If your phone can't replace the battery, then an external battery pack is probably a better answer. There are several available that are pretty compact, and you can usually charge those packs separately in the wall.

the only thing I dont like about charging stations is you can miss calls and messages
Save 29%. This item is about $20 less expensive at Amazon:

But really... I just don't understand how some people need electronic plugged into each of their orifices at all times.

There currently is no comps for tournies. Stan's response implies that he is considering the idea, but I could be wrong.

I said myself that I don't play high limits so I didn't mean to sound elitiist. My argument is that I don't feel like sitting at a table in which 2 players per hand are dealt out and I feel as though this charging station could lead to that occurring.

I know this wasn't directed towards me, but I thought I'd address your concerns. I've only seen the charging station in use during a handful of tournaments (not cash games), but I don't think this will be the case. Most people come up and put their phone in the charging station and then come back in a half hour to an hour to get their phone. Only a couple people have actually come up to check their messages and leave their phone there. I don't think it would interfere with a cash game. It's as disruptive as players going to the bathroom... in that it really isn't disruptive at all.

My bad bro, no hard feelings. Your point is valid. But I don't think that many people will be away from the table as you think. I know I would only get up to get my phone back and wouldn't want to walk back and forth habitually.

Charging stations for phones and any other electronic device increase the potential unnecessary distractions and for immature and irresponsible behavior, IMO.

I'm only saying that I agree with DCJ001 in that it could have very negative effects on the games.

If you are at the table and your devices begin to run low, then simply turn them off for a while. Or text/call whoever you are with or may need to contact and let them know where you are if needed and then turn off your phone. I just think that people will constantly get up to check their phone if it isn't on them which will unnecessarily short the game for a period of time.

However, if you are in a tournament that could last 12-13 hours with built-in breaks, this could be very convenient and wouldn't disturb the game at all.

Oh boy. Plus, you and Stan should have a "management is not responsible" fine-print ready. There are lawyers who love nothing but to bust a suit. (sic)

As you see in veerob's picture, the station is placed near the board wher im assuming there are employees. You could place it behind one of the desks or an area where there are employees. Ideally each person would have a ticket for their phone so people wouldn't physically touch the phones.

Nothing prevents theft; you are correct. We make sure it's clear to players that charging their phone is at their own risk, as far as theft AND as far as their phones breaking from a bad charger, for example. I looked into locker-type solutions, but it was too cost prohibitive. Then again, we've only been using the charging station for a couple of weeks, so I'm sure a theft may eventually come up.

I do put the station on the wall in plain site so a player can keep their eye on their phone, and I try to put it near the tournament desk so it has a better "image" of safety.

I see a problem because the concierge desk does this but they charge for it. Maybe they can move the chargers & system from the concierge to poker room for the event. maybe where they register.

Well, since you're an English teacher, you should know that "whomever" should have been used instead of "whoever" because the word acts as an object in the sentence.

I'd hate for you to use the wrong word with your students in the future.
