So I played in the 1/1nl game last night for about 4 hours. No one was really raising pre flop but players had no problem calling a 10 dollar flop bet into a 4 dollar pot. There was a 600 dollar pot between the two big stacks. I doubled through the guy who had 600 dollars and he left shortly after. Two guys on my side of the table had been playing all day and dropped 5 100 buy ins each. Def felt like more fish playing 1/1 then 1/2. This young kid who just turned 21 a few weeks back was flipping straights all the time. I've never seen a player shake so much when he had a big hand. He always showed when he had a good hand but his tell saved me a lot of money. I would def go play 1/1 again. Only disappointment was I didn't see stan come by to check on his new game but with 400/800 running 1/1 looked pathetic.

Standing in line to reg for the turbo and rumor has it they're talking about closing registration... I drove from DC for this and will not be pleased if I don't even get a seat after a 3.5 hr drive and almost an hour of waiting in line...

Still registering for the Deep Stack turbo. Just talked to Tab. He said there were 520 registered and still had a line. Everyone will get in. All 85 tables are in action. Don't listen to the rumor.

From Matt's twitter: Borgata: Thursday 4pm. We will be running 300-600 6 game mix; HOSE nlh plo, both with 6k cap. Game will be running through the weekend.

This is pretty sick, does Borgata run these 6 game mixed games frequently or is this a new thing. Also, what are blinds for the NL/PLO, 75/150? Usually blinds for big bet games are 4x smaller than the limit and that would make the cap 40bbs which is a standard cap.

Although my live game reports say 400-800 H.O.S.E., it is normally a 6 way game that includes the PLO and NL game. It's just easier to post HOSE instead.

50-100 PLO and 100-200 NL.

From the relatively recent discussion regarding the comp rates for 1/2 PLO, I spoke to Stan yesterday about the higher buyins and variance at 1/2 PLO compared 1/2 NL should reap higher rates. He said while this is true, the game is much slower, and the casino makes less money. At 1/2 NL, almost every pot is $40, which is needed for max rake and while 1/2 PLO definitely plays bigger, the casino won't be making more money because of this. Thanks Stan for being so helpful as always.

Stan,

I have a request, played the deep stack turbo today but no one had any idea how many players are in and how many players left at any point of time, so many of them keep asking how much left and one of the floor guy replied around 6pm - "i dont know, but i see a lot of y'all" - i remember harrahs use to have a counter on the screen that says entrants/players remaining - this will be really helpful to plan your game if you are close to bubble

Thanks.

Thanks for the feed back. I will look into what happened today. I would guess that the staff was stretched to the max because of the size of the field. Probably short a couple of tournament floors today. Not an excuse of course.

It was always going to a marginal decision for Borgata. The only "positive" aspect was to help promote the game - which would be of questionable effect anyway. Our last resort now is to push for a Omaha-only day @ Borgata!.

btw, this weekend has been really bad for the small stakes PLO game. Just an empty list of interest after the deep stack turbo.

You might find it helpful to leave your card out and swipe in again once or twice during your session when you take a bathroom break or something. When the floor isn't so busy. Lock in your hours, so the hit isn't so bad when you forget again.

or play until 6AM every time so you get swept up in the rollover. That's kind of what I end up doing.

Stan,

I am a n00bie to the forum and I am unable to send out private messages due to safety precautions 2+2 takes against any new users. I have sent 2 or 3 Emails to 2+2 over the past few days to allow me to send pm's, but haven't yet received a response back.

Is there another way I can get you my info so you can throw me the poker rate on the nights I decide to make the drive down there to play. Or if I call the front desk to make reservations, can they give me the rate? The $189 a night I got under "My Offers" just doesn't make the cut.

Also, are there any qualifications to getting these rates? I have probably logged around 35 hours there since I turned 21 about 1 week ago and I plan on playing much more in the future.

Thanks for any help.

Stan was not kidding --I saw at least one floor person dealing to get as many active tables as possible.

On the nagative side for me, the huge crowd for the turbo apparently had an impact on the field for the 11am survivor I came up from DC for (only 37 runners). Somehow I missed word of the turbo on the web site.

I'm wondering if something like a poker room specific Facebook page would help. Stan does a great job on this board & I'm sure he doesn't need any more work, but it seems somethiong like that would better publicize big events. They could also send invitations to interested players which might help them better prepare for big crowds like yesterday's.

I played four different sessions/tables on a recent Wed night, Thursday day/night and Friday day - there was always at least a few loose players at my table.

Sorry if this has been answered before but I couldn't find it anywhere. How much play is needed to get a room discount? Staying 1 night on 9/9 for my brother's 21st birthday.

Our major and specialty tournaments are located on the tournament circuit forum. Tab does a good job on that forum to keep players informed of upcoming events.

Look for my earlier post with my e-mail address, If you need a poker rate room i will need your Borgata card number. If you have never played at the Borgata before and would like to try it, go online and get a card number. If the date is available i will do my best to get you the poker rate. E-mail me your dates and card number. This goes for everyone.

Never played 2/5 but there generally always seem to be good action to be found on weekdays. You have to start your session a little later ideally and not as juicy as a weekend obviously but Borgata attracts enough people to be profitable all week imo.

Edit: Can I pester for my daily game report too?
