Borgata Pro Tip #282: When using the bathroom in the back of the poker room, always walk to the right (counter-clockwise) around the barrier in the entrance. If you turn left you will bump into someone exiting, and chances are he did not wash his hands.

Seems like common sense to me but unfortunately some people enter/exit left. They must be British.

Anyone ever notice that there's at least one custodian in the men's room who's a little too friendly and talkative? He never overtly asks for tips but clearly, he's hoping he can make a few bucks. He'll say stuff like, "There you go sir, nice and clean for you."

I tend to use the bathroom by B&B just because poker players seem to be slobs.

Borgata Pro Tip #283: Be careful when using the Cafeteria bathroom. Those sinks have vicious splash-back.

I use the below link for inexpensive motels, ten minutes from Borgata, in a safe area. Use Absecon NJ with the dates of your stay:

I have a nitpicky question--why do the high def TV's in the poker room never have true high def going on? It's always standard def stretched out. I can tell because the crawler on ESPN would say ESPNHD if it were the HD channel.

Splash-backs are no big deal, as long as you only use the sinks for washing your hands.

To all of you talking about the BB jackpot:

Don't evaluate it in a vacuum. Obviously a solid winner would PREFER to not have a BBJP in a perfect world, but consider other variables rather than just how much goes into it every hour.

Many bad players flock to rooms with BBJPs. The people who believe in them and desire them are generally terrible and many people will make a decision on which room to play in based on the existence or non-existence of a BBJP. In AC they seem to be pretty common, at least at the primary rooms, so the Borgata institutes them to compete. In a way, you too, as a Borgata regular, are competing with other rooms. You want the fish at the Borg, not at the Taj.

In addition, many players are going for the "big score" and will play any hand that even has a remote possibility of creating a bad beat. Gutshot straight flush draw on a paired board? He might have quads! Suited connectors preflop? We might make two straight flushses!

You underestimate quite how dumb some of the fish are. I've seen plenty of times in games guys calling down, then showing some absurd hand at SD and saying, "I was looking for the bad beat."

Other guys will make a hand like quads and will STOP BETTING, because they want someone else to make quads too. They miss value all over the place and check down on any board where another quad situation is possible.

Yes, it sucks, but don't underestimate some of the value it gives back in how fish react to it.

if i wasn't incompetent at 3 of the 4 games, I would definitely join you. I'm decent at E and can nit my way through O but I barely have any H and S experience and need to improve before I put up 300+ on a HOSE tourney. GL tomorrow and maybe I'll see you there.
