My friend is coming down now for 1/2 PLO so I'd imagine the game will be running within 2 hours. I'm going to the Phillies game and might come down afterwards depending on how I feel.

Hey, just a quick update for any who may have been wanting to know how my situation was resolved. I talked at considerable length with Stan's boss, and he offered me $5500 and I accepted. While I would have liked and think I deserved the full $9k, I understand where he's coming from and am of the opinion that he's a decent and fair guy. Ditto for Stan who, as I said previously, has handled the whole situation very professionally. For whatever it may be worth, I'm content that Borgata's management team does its honest best to do right by its players. If some were moved to question the integrity of the card room or the casino, I hope that they'll be, as I've been, satisfied with the answer.

FWIW, there was a game of 5/10 HOSE last Saturday. It was full when I got there though, so I just took an empty seat at 1/2 while waiting for a 2/5 game.

Thanks for the update, I'm glad you got some of the money back. How did they arrive at 5500? I believe the pot was 6000 when you went all in for 3000. I'm assuming 2500 of that 6000 was your money since it would make sense that would return the exact amount of money you had invested.

PLO ran today full force and I only played a couple orbits since the game wasn't great. Were you there Dima? I was the Asian kid in the white polo in the 5 seat briefly and stopped by a couple times to look in. I was at a crazy 1/2 NL game where I saw a 1k pot shipped to a maniac and I managed to turn my 100 bi into 368 in about 45 minutes.

Nah, I'm off PLO for now. All too often I find myself to be one of the weaker players at the table, so I'm sticking to 2/5 NLHE for now.

Yesterday while cashing out my massive $368, a guy from the 300/600 6 game mix got in line behind me when what had to have been 60k. We talked for a bit and I started saying that it is odd that he has to cash out 60k in the middle of the poker room in front of everyone. He eventually went back to the high limit area and went to his safety deposit box. If the room has chip runners, surely they can also cash them out for the large amounts of money involved.
Chip runners are not allowed to buy chips (sell only).

I hope you have not opened pandoras box...now everyone who thinks they had a bad decision is going to post or go running to you asking for compensation. I hope for your sake I am wrong.

That being said it seems as if a really bad floor decision (based on what I have read) has been rectified to everyones satisfaction.

We have to make decissions everyday. With the amount of games and limits we deal with on a daily basis, stuff happens. For the most part we do a really good job. Every now and then something happens that i feel that we should go the extra mile to fix. This is one of those situations. Doesn't mean we will do this every time. After 15 years of doing this, i know when to say when.

Good for you. No offense pokerski but the debating world, politics, etc. would all be much better off if nobody used the "slippery slope" argument ever again. Few things are more annoying than "If you let Bob get away with this, then we're all going to die!"

Stan,

Don't sell yourself short. You do an excellent job - the standard by which other rooms should measure themselves.

I do not believe any other room would have addressed this type of issue beyond, "We discussed it. It is what it is. There is no instant replay in gambling. Maybe the call was wrong; maybe it was correct. Either way, it doesn't matter. That was the call. It's over and done with. Now go away."

Very impressive, my friend. Very impressive.
