I disagree about Forneletto. Pretty mediocre and everything I order there makes me feel like I'm getting ripped off - more so than the other gourmet places at Borgata.

IMO Old Homestead is still the best restaurant in the Borgata. 4 of us ate in Flay's last year. We all said that it was the worst meal we ever had at a casino. Maybe it was just a bad day in the kitchen, but won't go back.

I like Puck's. I also think the prices are fairly reasonable. Yeah, Old Homestead is delicious, but I'm not gonna spend the money on it every time. I also like Forneletto's.

Some people...

i'll be the first to acknowledge the 3/8 seat issue. And in this case I aplogized for not really hearing the first warnings and made good effort to alleviate the issue (along w my neighbors) .

The issue is the unnessarily nasty and unending tirade from the dealer on an issue that I made no defense on. The "OK, I'm sorry and will do better" only seemed to inflame her.

why do people read only what they want to read?

Forneletto's is good, and the anti pasta with fresh mozzarella cheese is to die for. They also have this tuscany Fried chicken thats great. Bobby Flay's I was dissappointed with and I too can say it was the worse gourmet meal I have had. Old Homestead is out of this world!!! First class food all the way there, definitely cant go wrong with that!!!

I've been to flays, Sea Blue, and Izakaya of the premium restaurants there, I'd say Izakaya is the best hands down, but I'm a sucker for good sushi / specialty rolls.

I didn't think the Sushi at Izakaya was that great. I mean, it was fine, but not amazing. Everything else was quite good.

Also, I can't believe people advocate Old Homestead over Bobby Flay's. Homestead has much larger portions, but Bobby Flay's food is about 7000 times better imo.

Forneletto is quite expensive and the food is mediocre.

Sea Blue is pretty expensive, but worth it imo. One of the best meals I've ever had.

So, Bobby Flay if you want steak (stay away from Homestead; you'll be disappointed), Izakaya if you want Japanese (or sushi, which is really fine) or Sea Blue if you want seafood obv

Last edited by ashiXIII; 07-16-2010 at 07:56 PM. Reason: also, Sea Blue has mini lobster corndogs

Never been to Homestead, but Bobby's steak was indeed pretty good, I have no complaints. Been to a lot of steak houses, and while Bobby's isn't in my top 5, it's still a good steak house.

Perhaps taking a cue from Bally's, the Borgata's been trying to inaugurate a 1/1 NL Holdem game today. It didn't quite go the first time it was called, but they just tried again. And it doesn't look like it'll go now either. But the list keeps building up.

should be an interesting game. If it ever goes.

min 40/max 100.

To Stan,

If that is accurate, what is the rake and comp rates on this game? Thanks!

I assume it is, it seems to be Caesars and Plaza affected now.

Haven't seen any confirmed reports of it elsewhere. I assume that since the Borgata is off the Boardwalk that it probably cools differently.

The Italian at Borgata has always been overpriced and mediocre. Il Mulino at Taj is much better.

Bobby Flay is good but Puck's bread makes Flay's bread look like something out of a basket at Denny's.

Japanese joint is colossal rip off. Half a dime = half full.

For the money, Puck's or Sea Blue.

The A/C issues are only affecting Trump Plaza, Caesars, Boardwalk Hall, and the Pier at Ceasars. Every other place is operating normal.

I am a LHE player, but I would play in this game for ships and giggles. Count me in if I am there and they are trying to get it running.

I like Wolfgang Puck. I am alone when I travel, so I just do The Tavern. I have not eaten in the Main Dining Room, but I am sure the food is just as good with more options. I do not see how you could go wrong there. I believe the menu has the greatest variety of food of all the fine dining resturants in Borgata. I have heard good things about Fornelletto, but I have yet to eat there. It does not seem like the resturant you want to eat alone at.

I believe all the fine dining restaurants at Borgata have menus on the website. Check them out and see what makes you and your wife's taste buds water. If all else fails, Fatburger is down in the basement.

Oh, and good choice on the Water Club room. I stayed there comped a year ago, and now every time I visit, I stay at the Water Club. I am spoiled.

Fornelleto is excellent. Ice always gone with the woman, but they have a bar area you'd be fine in. I work in an Italian restaurant myself and the food here is quality.

Borgata has an amazing all around selection of restaurants. I think bobby flay is probably the best overall, but homestead is very good as well. Wolfgangs is also very good and perfectly located imo. I love Noodles of the world as well and probably eat there more than anywhere.
