If you're tipping them they're already in your room cleaning it...

You just have to be super vigilant and tell them not to clean your room in strong, clear language and they will leave you alone most of the time.

And it goes without saying--don't leave anything of value in your room ever, even for a short period of time.
So if I'm staying in a casino's hotel, I have an iPod with me, and I don't feel like having it in my jeans pocket during a session.. I should still just suck it up and take it with me?

It's really not safe to leave it in my room, let's say from 8pm to 4am unattended?

What about people who bring a laptop with them, they shouldn't leave it in the room unattended as well, ever?

(Serious inquiry, I'm not being sarcastic)

The Ipod will fit in the room safe, will it not? If you are that concerned put it there.

There are also 2 door locks. If both are on they can't enter your room while you are inside.

This is all good to hear as I will be down the end of this week. I will make sure the phone is unplugged and the doors are properly locked so that I will not be disturbed while sleeping during the day.

Sorry about your stuff, it's very odd it's disappeared.
I always leave my iPad in my room. (doesn't fit in pocket). I have find my iPad app. So if it's stolen I can track it down. Booya

I got nothing from the Trop. And I knew I wouldn't. I just filed a report with security in the hopes that a pattern would develop, ultimately leading to the firing of the lowlife scumbag illegal alien housekeeper who stole my money.

Really not an issue. They have never entered my room once with the DND sign on the door. And I have been going every week since November. And I have left my laptop right on the table each and every time. I do of course put my wallet, car keys, radar detector, and bankroll in the safe however.

If it's from 8pm - 4am you shouldn't have as much of an issue because the cleaning people are usually done by then. I'd still put as much as you can in the safe or suck it up and take it with you. You can also put your backpack with laptop on your chair in the poker room and it's not a big deal.

Probably just run good. It's happened to me at least 4 or 5 times with me in the room and another 5 times or so when I've been downstairs.

I've left my glasses in the buffett area before. came back 3 days later when I realized. got sent to a security desk where they asked what they asked for a description of what I had lost (glasses, brown rims) and where I ahd lost it (buffett).

They radioed it in and to my relief they actually had been turned in by someone and that they would bring them down to the desk I was at.

Finally after (literally) 34 minutes of me standing at this security desk my glasses were brought to me by security personnel.

Cliffs:
lost glasses
retrieved them at security desk days later
took FOREVER

A tip for tipping in a hotel. If your staying a few nights and are plan on tipping.
Do the tip on your first night not when you leave.Once tipped you will be surprised on the promptness of service.
This is also good practice drinking in new bars.Tip on your first drink.
It's sort of like creating a loose table image which can benefit you later.

I usually leave 2-3 bucks a day and keep it that way unless they go a very good/bad job. In the past, I'd leave it at the end, until during a business trip, a colleague told me that the housekeeping people likely change every day, so thus the change. I do admit that i occasionally forget/don't tip for staying one night.

Another good way to keep trip costs under control is to not use housekeeping. Then you only have to tip once, when you leave. I usually tip $5 for one housekeeping event.

Anyone who says they stay at the borgata often and have never been harrassed are either boldfaced lying or have never been in the room between 11 and 2.

Not a single day goes by that I do not get at least one call.

Well this explains why ive had then open my door and close it again. Presumably the number of doors they open is tracked, so they open the door and close it again so they can say they "cleaned" my room.

Not good enough. Like I say, ive left a sign, told them NO on the phone when they have called, and yet a few hours later someone opened my door and came in and I had to kick them out.

Stan, you should understand that at least for me, the issue with the cleaning people create a 3 hour timeframe every day that I am unwilling to go downstairs and gamble, and it seems like Im not the only one.

I am bad when it comes to losing things and have had to go to security or call housekeeping quite a few times in order to get lost items. Usually they are pretty good about looking to see if they have it and retrieving it, or just being honest telling me they can't find it in their system. It does usually take some time for items to be retrieved if they are actually in lost and found and not at the security podium. As to the person who had their room cleaned out, it clearly was just a timing issue for when you extended stay and when they cleaned room, the notification to the main didn't get there in time. I hope they can find everything for you.

The maids I thought get paid like $5-$10 per room they clean, but maybe there is a minimum as stated. That is why they knock on your door and come in the room even if you have the sign on the door. They need to use your phone to log that they cleaned their room. If you want them to stop bothering you, just tell them I don't need service but you may come in and use the phone. That is all they want and the reason they ignore your do not disturb sign. With regards to checking out and being told to leave, a trick I have heard is when the cleaning lady comes to your door, give her $5 or $10 and tell her make my room the last one you clean. This will usually give you until at least 2pm or 3pm before they bother you again.

The bad beat jackpot is bad for poker because it takes money out of the poker players pockets and makes the fish go broke slightly faster. Stan knows this and agrees with this. But he is in business and needs to compete to stay on top in this area, so he does what is necessary to be the best. All the talk in this thread about certain things borgata does or doesn't do, like paying for parking or wifi, should all be nothing to poker players who go to borgata a lot. Borgata poker players get the best comps and perks of any poker room in the country, especially anyone who is a reg in the high limit rooms. The black card is not a joke, its part of the reason borgata poker room dominates this part of the country. The free rooms, cheap food, free parking, and everything else adds up to an experience everyone wants to be apart of.

I was gone from Borgata for 6 months for a mistake I made, and now that I have had time to be back and experience it again, I am so happy. Borgata is the best. They do things right, and when a mistake is made I find a large percentage of the time they are honest and own up to it. Thank you Stan for allowing me the opportunity to experience Borgata again, and for making it the best.

No reason to lie, I maybe got called one time in the 25 or so times i've been there this year. I am usually in the room 11-2pm. Maybe i'm lucky? Maybe I don't hear them knock?

Been called once but that one time was ****ing terrible. Called twice starting at 8:40 and then at 10:30 ish. Several times I've had maids barge in on me in the morning. It's really obnoxious and quite shocking tbh. I latch the door now but they are still quite loud. I once left some imax tickets in my room post check out. I caught them within 20 minutes of me leaving. Front desk, sent to security, security makes me wait about 40 minutes while they track it down. Got my tickets. Oddly enough they were in a tiffany bag so it I was amazed they didn't vanish.

Hey so I need honest feedback on this....

I went down to the Borgata to play some qualifiers for the Championship event last Saturday.... Well I didn't make it.. but I ended up playing Roulette and some Cash games of Poker etc.... Well to my surprise I logged into my Borgata account and I saw I had Comp'd rooms for the next few months (only during the week)

So I came down here the past couple of days using the comps. I ended up playing a lot of Roulette.. I ended up winning a few hundred bucks and leaving..... I just logged into My Borgata account and I see that the comp rooms have now been taken away...

Is this right??? Should I contact Borgata or is it because I won money....????

One of the first things I do after a stay is book compt rooms. I have seen in the past if I wait a few days they start taking fridays away first.
