I found some old threads from 2009-2010 about the subject, but they may be outdated now. I wanted to see what it takes to now get a black a card through poker. I know its 1000 points in a calendar year, but fast do they build up by stakes?

Also, what does it entitle you? I know about free parking, access to the lounge etc, but specifically around weekend rooms. Does having a black card guarantee you free weekend rooms, or would it still go to table/slot players?

It won't get you free weekend rooms. It does get you the ability to get the buffet for only 10 comp dollars instead of however any comp dollars the regular price is.

I believe the 1/2 nl is $1.50 hr and 2/5 nl is $2/hr. I'm not sure about the other stakes.

The Borgata Black Card is one of the most overrated poker cards of all time. I just have a normal borgata card, I still get free rooms, if you ask a host for a buffet comp they will most liekly give you one if its not on the weekend. Theres a reason why a lot of players have it. Its a freakin joke

why does everybody care so much about free parking? It is 5 DOLLARS, if that is the only reason to accrue 1000 comp points, that just seems wrong.

Does the 5/10 O8 game look like it has a chance of being spread (semi)regularly ?
Thinking about giving it a shot next Saturday.

I think its more of a thing that should be free...You don't pay for parking at most casinos in the country. And regardless of it being only $5, it just sucks paying it after a losing session. It does add up.

I pay for parking at almost all AC casinos, speaking as someone whose cards are always going to be the lowest tier available. What places are free in AC for us low level out-of-town grinders?

That's what I was referring to. Paying for parking is standard at most, if not all, casinos in AC. The casinos I've been to in Vegas, FL, and PA have all been free parking.

As I thought, in AC it ain't standard. And I doubt it will change any time soon. No need to sweat it.

BBJP is -EV. When it's very high in any given room it probably does bring in a few extra players to the low limit games but it's difficult to measure how that equates to $ in the pockets of reg players. What's not is this:

1) A huge chunk of the $ that's won by the lucky few that hit the BBJP goes to taxes. So.... the $1 we are contributing is never fully reimbursed.

2) Very few players ever get even a portion of the $ they sunk into the BBJP because it's so hard to it. That $ is generally gone forever on an individual basis.

It is 0 EV for the regulars in the long run on the face of the bet.

But it's definitely +EV for regular players because it attracts looser players to the room and furthermore, attracts looser action in the games. Nothing like three-betting your kings at 10-20 and the SB calls with deuces because heaven forbid he fold his BBJP eligible hand pre flop.

It's kind of pointless to discuss getting rid of the big BBJP. To compete in AC, they have to have a BBJP that's consistently in the 200,000s. If Borgata lowered its BBJP it would lose players.

$5 for someone that comes only once a month or two. It means $100 a month to those that play five days a week. No one wants to give up $100 a month from their bank roll every month just to park.

AC club must be paying for it then(which is nice I guess)

The $5 parking fee goes to the city not to the borgata. Any extra you pay(say at caesar's on saturday night) I guess goes to them but i'm not sure.

The Borgata gave me free parking and I have no idea why. I can only use it once per day, but it is free. It is nice.

I think the black card is great. As someone who only plays poker, the free parking adds up, but the $10 buffett pretty much can't be beat since I don't have a host to hive me one. Oh, and I get free rooms on the weekend! If you play table games and lose money I am sure they will give you a free buffett but I do not.

As for hourly:
1/2nl=1.5hr
2/5-10/20nl=2hr
10/25nl=3 hr
20/40-40/80limit=3 hr

Not sure what other games are.

BTW Stan, what should I do about a dealer/floor who consistently makes bad rulings? I asked a couple other floors and they acknowledge he was pretty bad and mentioned something about him being dual rate but I don't really know what that has to do about anything.

I would like to first Thank Stan for helping me out with rooms this week, it was very generous of him with the tournamant series going on, and me not playing much prior in the Borgota. Thank you Stan. The room was run great and there was a ton of action.

The second part of my post is to the 2 plus 2 commuinty and doesnt really have any negativity towards the poker room at all. What happened was that I had a 1 night stay in the Borgota hotle and decided to extended my stay and play.(Stan also helped out in this) SO I went to the front desk got new key cards and extended my stay before 11am that day. I then left the room around 2pm and return around 6pm only to find the room totally cleaned and everything I had in room gone! (tooth brush, luggage clothes ipod ect ect) House keeping had cleaned the room and cleared out all my stuff thinking I had only a 1 day stay, which was not the case. It then took nearly 2 hours to finally get ahold of security and speak with a supervisor and finally get ahold of someone who might beable to help. They could pretty much careless and were clueless. They were unable to help me locate my stuff when it was clear it was the fault of the Borgota. The only thing that I personally was able to locate was on my own through calling lost found and it was my oakley sun glasses which are custom made for me and quite expensive. Nothing eles was located and security was borderline rude to me and made me feel like it was my fault. I had to ask to have Ac police dispacted about halfway through as the Borgota security was being so unhelpful with me. They basically told me I had to wait 5 days for the investion to complete and then call back. The police said it was internal matter lol ( since when is theft not a crime lol) So here I am with only the clothes on my back and not even a tooth brush for the night and my bus ticket home gone as well. So what did the borgota do for me...? Nothing absoultely nothing, I never even got an apology from anyone. The matter is still pending, I was just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone eles?
