Hey guys, 2 questions haven't seen discussed here...

1) How many tables of 1/2 or 2/5 do you like to see before you know the games are softening up? I'm assuming 2 or 3 tables (mornings, weekdays) means it's mostly regs and fairly tough, but it starts to loosen up once you see X number of tables.

2) If you don't like your table, how do you request a change? Talk to the floor - or the dealer?

Thanks!

Hey -

I've tried searching the forums and the borgata blog and website, but can't find the info for Tournament Leaderboard points. 2 questions:

#1 - Anybody know the formula?

#2 - regarding the Sep 6 freeroll - it says "the top 250 on leaderboard will be invited" but it does not say if it's for 10k 12.5k or 15k starting stack. Which one is it?

Thanks!

1) I think you are really overestimating the "toughness" of these games. Obviously the absolute softest action will be at night on weekends, but at no point will the games be "fairly tough".

2) Floor.

I guess 'toughness' is all relative anyway thx for the feedback

Having played semi-regularly at the Borg since 2007, I sum up my impressions of the 2/5 games this way:

There is money to be made at the Borgata.

The only thing you have to fear are bad LAG Russians from NYC sucking out on you. The 2/5 NL action there is routinely great, with plenty of people seemingly eager to give their money away.

Case in point--a couple Tuesdays ago I was there. I had TT in one of the blinds and called a $25 raise. Three people to flop which was T93 with two diamonds. I lead out for $100 to push out draws. Got re-raised all in for ~ $400 total and I snap-called of course. The other guy jammed with J9dd. Turn was a 3 and that was that.

There are plenty of other times I can remember people calling my large bets with naked draws. Once I had 78, flopped the nut straight (two hearts on board) and someone jammed with KQhh for a decent amount of money, maybe $200 or so.

I'm by no means a great player but I've walked out of there many times up $1,000+ for a session just playing ABC. So I'll say it again, there is absolutely money to be made there.

lol your example of great action is people going all in with a set vs pair and flush draw lmao, or putting in 40 hole blinds with 2 overs and a flush draw
wow what action

I have a great one actually. I won a ~$700 hand with 84o on a board something like 83556 that had a busted flush draw. I flopped top pair and a reg there who has a reputation for being one of the loosest players in the room kept calling my bets. I think the majority of the regs there are mediocre to bad players. I hear some people say they can't win any money there, the games are tough. That couldn't be farther from the truth for my 2/5 NL experience there.

These are pretty standard getting your money in situations. Nothing like a player going nuts on like top pair bad kicker type of stuff. That being said the 2/5 action there is very good and ripe for the taking

Not to bust anyones bubble....games at Borgata and everywhere are much tougher now than a couple of years back. My assumption is that all the players who are saying 2/5 is soft, an ATM...are long term winners year over year at 500 plus hours a year minimum and winning at least $30 per hr, which is what a good to very good player will be winning at minimum IMO.

I will go all in and say that is not case

I've been playing 1/2 since about 1 am yesterday and would love to play any 4/8 or 5/10 mixed game. Is there any realistic chance of one of those games going off?
