LOL - that was the one. We sent someone from our table over to investigate, but never quite got the full story.

Which reminds me of my one complaint about the Borgata poker room (which is otherwise AWESOME). It is very loud in there. Sometimes I couldn't even hear the dealer. I understand the loudspeaker calling for players has to be loud enough to be heard at every table, but between that and the other ambient noise of the room, it is hard to talk to the person next to you.

Anyone have any ideas how that could be fixed? Partitions between the different the groups of tables would certainly cut down on echos and noise spreading across the huge room, but would look ugly, waste space, and destroy the view across the room. Any other ideas?

Quick question. I couldn't find the answer through the forum searches.

Could a MyBorgata card-holder, if eligible, book a room with a floor manager while playing?

This past early Friday morning around the 6-7 AM hour, I (probably the only Filipino guy under-30 that time frame) was playing $2-5 NLHE with some cool guy who had a New York-accent, wore glasses and looked like NBC-Universal exec's Jeff Zucker. He attempted to book through a female floor manager for the $125 Friday rate. (I forgot her name. She looks Russian and I probably think she's working working early morning regularly.) For some reason, she and another floor manager were unable to book it for him and told him to talk to Customer Care.

(Personally, I've booked poker rate rooms in advance with Customer Care. $59 for a Classic Room on some days are AWESOME!)

Sorry, but the floor people are not allowed to book rooms. Please see a Shift Manager for help.

I brought this up at the beginning of August, don't know if it got overlooked or there's just nothing that can be done. But the situation with the 7 tables in front of the cashier is as bad as ever, there was another argument when somebody got tired of people just ramming their way through the seats and spinning the guys chair half way around. I really hope there is some way to alleviate this problem, because it is 100% guaranteed going to be the direct cause of a fist fight some day.

I totally agree. Its gotten to the point that when I play 1/2, I go straight to the podium in the back and ask for a seat back there. Those tables near the cage are the worst. People are constantly banging into the back of your chair the the noise level is too much to concentrate. Not to mention it gets even worse when the tournament goes on break and you have 100-200 people charging past those tables. I pity the poor fools that sit there with their backs directly facing the cashier. And......when the dealers are on line to cash out thier tips, the dealers facing the cage are shouting out to them and not paying attention to the game.

I've played at those tables 3 times. I didn't have a lot of problems with people hitting me (a couple times out of a hours of play) but I definitely saw this happen with the tables closest to the cashier.

The corner seats are the worst, seats 2,3,7 and 8 are just brutal. People are just too lazy. To take an extra 5 seconds and walk around, they just bulldoze right through when the seats are touching each other. And out of every 10 that ram into you, you're lucky if even 1 has the courtesy to say sorry or excuse me.

I have 2 busted ribs, and every time someone slams into my seat, its like getting stabbed with a knife. Its almost impossible to not get super aggravated in 1 of those seats. Its to the point where I'm spending more and more time at other casinos, just because of this problem. (Well, that, and the fact that I come here for a month or 2 at a time, and I get more comped rooms at other properties, so I kinda have to play at least some time at them to avoid living in my truck.) It sucks, because the Borgata is so much nicer then everywhere else, from the room, to the dealers, to the entire staff. But the other rooms aren't the equivelant of a mosh pit. I'm convinced I've quadrupled the healing time for my ribs by getting spun around 10 times an hour here, lol.

My complaint:

The draught beer tastes too metallic, no matter which type is served in the poker room. Tastes like its out of a can but a more pronounced mistaste.

Any consensus here?

I noticed when I switched to bottled, that was quality, so I am not totally losing my mind, I think...

we had a pretty big discrepancy at my table that i thought id share.

guy shoves all in (with one big stack) on the flop with aces after a guy with kq bets. all rags. KQ says how much and dealer says 163. KQ says ok ill call. dealer runs the turn and river and aces hold. KQ gives in 63 and dealer says 100 more sir. KQ starts to get angry and says i asked how much and you said 63. at this point a couple people stood up for dealer and said they had heard 163 (it was fairly obvious since the stack was over 100 and over the betting line). KQ puts up a fight and the floor is called over. after some explaining from both sides, floor rules that he only has to call 63, but he didnt seem too sure as to what to do. about 5 people at the table started arguing about the ruling and eventually second floor was called over and ruled correctly, that he had to call the 100. it appeared for a second the guy was going to grab his chips and leave without paying up, but he eventually did. im just glad that first floor, even though he was wrong and made a terrible ruling, was willing to call another floor over and get a correct ruling. it was quite interesting though for about 10 mins.

Wow, amazing coincedence. Perfect example of the seat problem. UTG lagtard raises, tight player 3bets, I wake up with AA on button. I'm taking a minute to think how I want to play it, while I'm rolling over a stack of chips in my left hand. While I'm doing this, kid in his 20s decides he HAS to rush to the cashier, before the line goes from 1 person, to maybe a whole 3. So he throws a Darius Kasparitis in his prime hip check into my seat, causing me to drop a couple of chips over the lines, which means I call. Thankfully, I held up, because that seriously might have been the final straw.

Amazing it happened right after I posted about the issue, lol.

Big ups to The Borgata. Scored my first 5 figure win when I chopped up 1st and 2nd in the Labor Day tourney. Enjoyed myself thoroughly and the staff managed everything very well.

That dealer should have gotten a floor warning to always "Make the pot right" & pull the correct bets into the main pot, before dealing out the next card(s).
If done this way, these type problems simply don't arise, & the game runs smoother & quicker.
I hate when I hear some loudmouth player (usually not even in the hand, usually drunk), blert out, "Just run the cards & figure it out later".
No...., shut up, & let the dealer do his/her job & make the main pot right, & create a side pot as nessessary.
Running the next board cards without taking correct bets first, opens up situations where the loser could claim he "thought he was only calling" some smaller amount, or he actually had folded, ect ..& that's exactly what happened here.

When the poker room was designed, the front tables were all stud tables. We quickly had to replace them with hold'em tables and that is why they are very tight. Because the wiring for the tables is directly under them we can not move them. I did however, put up more stantions by the cage to keep people from bumping into the players on those tables.

By the way Stan, good job on Satruday calling the pink game as open seating. That definitely got it started, whereas nothing was happening if you didn't.

Now if you can only get the floor people to take some intiative in this direction.

This will free you up for more important things, like finding out who supplies the beer taps. Call me nuts, but the taps either have to be cleaned or replaced. The draught is definitely picking up some weird metallic aftertaste...

Make up something that I can see from far away, from the other side of the room. This way I can avoid meeting you completely.

Sometimes, things like meeting me are best left to the imagination...
