New Jersey is pretty strict on rules, so, because RIT wasn't around when the rules were made, it's pretty difficult to add them. Perhaps since the gaming regulation has been reformed, it may be easier to change the rule if there is demand.

For example, you can see the different proposed and newly enacted, and temporary New Jersey casino rules here:

http://www.nj.gov/casinos/actreg/reg/proposed.html
http://www.nj.gov/casinos/actreg/reg/temp.html

Razz was submitted before September 27, 2010, and it took at least 9 months before the first game was spread. Unless there is substantial demand for new procedures, it's unlikely that future changes will take place, though there were recent changes to accommodate Harrah's "Multi-Casino Bad Beat Payout System" , and the Borgata's "secondary bad beat payout that is awarded to a lesser qualifying bad beat hand". Presumably it's somewhat costly to make even a trivial change in the rules of any game, so if you want these changes, the best thing to do would be to request them, though I wouldn't expect them to take place right away.

However, I heard that other casinos in AC break ties in cash games by position rather than by suit/rank. Is this true? If so, would the Borgata consider changing this rule? This rule causes more confusion to the players and dealers than any other, it seems.

What a great idea!!

I'm sure that once smokers begin setting off the smoke alarm poker players will stop their illegal smoking in the bathroom.

Hope that Borgata Management considers this.

When and illegal activity infringes upon the rights of other players lives....in this case short and long term health, something really should be done about it. It is the offenders that should be stopped from participating in their illegal smoking in an enclosed area. Especially when their are things that can seemingly be done to prevent them from doing so or at least make it much less convenient.

Players not wanting to breath in second hand smoke should not have to seek out another bathoom that may or may not be smokey or play in another casino. The onus should be on management and the offenders to eliminate the issue, not the victims.

Look, for whatever reason, we know management is aware of this, and they have not eradicated this ILLEGAL activity. There are also plenty of people who possess ILLEGAL drugs in the poker room and who make ILLEGAL sports bets in the poker room and nothing is done about this either. Believe it or not management cannot assure adherence to every single law by every single one of the people in the room. They are not cops. Its a casino. People smoke in places where they should not. If you simply cannot get over this, lucky for you there are 8 or so other poker rooms where you can play.

As logical as this may sound in your own head, you need to consider the facts: Stan reads this everyday. There has been at least a post a week about this for MONTHS, and nothing is being done about. Your posts have changed nothing about the situation. The only thing the continual complaining has done is clutter up this thread. Finally, how big of a deal could this be if everyone complaining about it keeps returning to the Borgata? It just sounds like a bunch of people with nothing better to do than bitch.

How do you know nothing has changed by players posting about how annoyed they are about people smoking in the bathroom?

Of course there is no way to prove it but I'd be willing to bet that less cigarettes of have been lit up as a result of some of these posts. And since Management has not taken responded to the matter to my knowledge this is one of the forums to discuss the situation and try to do something about it. Maybe one day Management will read something that will motivate them to make an effort to rectify the situation.

And fyi....I really don't think it's discussed all that often relative to the seriousness of the problem and the frequency with which it occurrs. I've stopped posting about it for the most part, in my own head.

I know because I play there a LOT and the bathroom smells just as much of smoke as it has at any time in 2011.

I think it has actually gotten worse lately; when people first started mentioning it here I wondered what they were talking about, but I have noticed it twice in the last few weeks. I really can't understand smokers going there when there is a smoking section so close by. I really wish something could be done about it.

Fwiw, I'd rather people smoke in the bathroom than **** by the craps tables.

Yeah, the Poker room restroom was a mess the last time I was there. Kind of surprised as it usually is, well, at least decent. It has and always will be the worst rest room in the hotel, but there was piss on floor and on the walls. The sink area was a disaster too.
