Yessss Bobby Flay or Wolfgang are both awesome, I take Mrs. PardoG to either when I'm stuck with her for the weekend down at the B.....I haven't been down in awhile, how has the room been? is PARX hurting the biz? Trying desperately to get down in March as it's been way too long, work has been the worst beat of all....if not for my birthday at the beginning of April

The funny thing is, on weekends you have 1 or 2 security guards who camp out right on that aisle near the bathroom, and they don't care about it. Even worse, the bathroom USUALLY has an attendant cleaning or just standing in there, and he doesn't care about the smoking either.

Simple solution -- put a sensitive smoke detector in there that beeps at a jillion decibels whenever anyone smokes. Guarantee that will solve your problem. Otherwise, please have the security guards along the aisle or the bathroom attendant in the bathroom actually enforce it.
I've been away from Borgata for a while. But I hope that this issue is resolved before I get back.

1. I don't expect the bathroom attendant to do anything about it.

2. I don't expect the security guards to do anything about it unless they are instructed to do so. Even then, they might just give informative briefings with the offenders after the fact.

3. It's up to Stan to get the job done by putting someone in the bathrooms to monitor the situation, and to tell people who light up to put it out and don't do it again or they'll need to leave the premises.

I realize that Stan wants everyone's business at Borgata, and he probably doesn't want to ban anyone from the room. But smoking in the bathrooms is a real problem that could get out of hand and it could escalate into a violent problem if it is not controlled.

I mean obviously PARX and the other philly casinos have certainly put a dent in the room, but it's still fine, hasn't really changed that much.

This was definitely due to the President's Day Weekend. Usually, Sundays have the same volume as weekdays, maybe a little more. I wasn't in town this weekend but I noticed the same thing in Las Vegas(sick brag) and asked and got the same response.

How many players did the PLO MTT get?

I've never understood why anyone would want to smoke in the bathroom. I'm a smoker, and when I want a butt, the last place I want to smoke it is in a stinky bathroom. It's literally a 10 second walk to the race book.

When I go to the bathroom off the poker room often DO smell smoke, just not cigarette smoke.

food at Old Homestead isn't nearly as good as Wolfgang Puck's, Bobby Flay's, Seablue, NOW, Izakaya or even Fornelletto.

Not a Homestead fan either, I have been there too many times and never really loved my steak, BUT the cold seafood towers are fantastic, however for steak, I'm going to Bobby Flays. For a burger, it's definitely Wolfgang's, one of, if not the best burgers ever.

Seablue sucks overpriced, Fornelletto nothing special, Izakaya no big whoop, Bobby Flays my fav, must give props to Homesteads Rib Eye and sides. It is very popular and the spot has a very loyal following.

Seablue is pretty reasonable actually. I like getting the Grilled Salmon -- $28, comes with some kind of vegetable or potato (although they change the garnish every month or so), and you get a full order of their naan bread which is really good. They also have a bar menu for half price during happy hour.

i was told that Razz was approved at the Borgata and the dealers had training in it? That would mean entire city correct? Can I get an official word on this?

I may be wrong about this, but I think in NJ each casino has to petition to tha gaming commision to add a new game to the poker mix.

Stan, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Also Stan, if you guys are petitioning for razz you may as well try for some other up-and-coming games from Vegas.

2-7 triple draw, A-5 draw, and Badugi (and its variants: Baducey and Badacey). They're all fun action-filled games that can drive you a little crazy!

If you really want to get crazy, add Crazy Pineapple and Crazy Pineapple Hi-Lo!

Just noticed that The Borgata will have a $300+$40 NLHE tourney on 3/12/11. Hopefully this will get some overflow from the WSOPCE @ Caesar's. The info on it is here.

Stan or Tab, how many runners do you expect to have in this tournament? Is the one re-entry good at any time? Anyways, I am looking forward to it and the WSOPCE is having a turbo that day and hopefully everyone who gets knocked out of the ME (which starts the day before) will come and play this at the Borg.

Yeah, those games are not going to happen for some time.

Stan's previous post on the subject was on Dec. 1, stating that it was getting closer. Obviously it hasn't arrived yet. (It was initially promised by late November)

In September Stan posted the following:

2. The DGE asked the CCC council for approval last month. (DONE)

3. We are waiting for the final approval from the state. (Rules and Regulation)

4. Once we get approval, there will be a 6 month testing phaze. During this testing phase, each time the game is dealt, the casino will have to note any poblems at that table. It does't matter how trivial. There could be a problem with who didn't ante and that will have to be noted. After 6 months, the notes will be sent to the state. The good news is that we will dealing the game.

Stan
Stan also previously stated that a HORSE tourney would probably not take place until the testing period is over.

Wondering if Stan will respond to the smoking issue??? I have launched several complaints to security over the years but nothing ever changes.

Not for nothing but I have witnessed Stan policing the bathroom IMO that is really sad as it is a shame he has to waste his time babysitting the jackasses who cause this. I have not seen it happen in the woman's room in the poker room. Start banning them AND make sure everyone knows about it.

It's good to see that there are other people who have also taken notice of the smoking abomination; now there seems to be a real chance that management will address the issue seriously.

Incidentally, I have in the past used the women's bathroom because the men's was too putrid too step into. I wonder what the penalty is (if any) for someone who uses the opposite sex's bathroom? And, very noticeably, the female restroom was infinitely nicer and cleaner, but more importantly, it was much larger; counterintuitive, because the male to female ratio in the poker room is probably ~10/1.

I personally have never seen him policing the bathrooms. Even if he does from time to time obviously more needs to be done. I have told floor people and most seem to shrug it off or have basically stated it's not their responsibility. It's so nasty having to breath in the smokey air and then smell like you're a smoker the rest of the day/night.

How about we just use a fire extinguisher every time we see smoke in the bathroom, the wet offender may learn a lesson!
