In any case, discussion of these actions should probably go in the Moderation Discussion Thread stickied at the top of the main B&M forum.

How did you do last night? I only played cash. Tourney looked like lots of runners for both 11am & 7pm. I'm thinking of heading back either tonight or friday.

It was kind of weird but the 11AM and 7PM both had 285 players.

Does anyone have experience with a floor manager named Bob? Old surly guy with a droopy face and a miserable attitude.

Came to the room in the early morning, only two 1/2 tables running. My friend is playing at one of the two and I don't want to sit with him. I look around for a floor, don't see one, walk up to an empty seat at the other table and ask the dealer if it's open. He says yes, I go and get chips and sit down.

Big Bob comes lumbering over and chastises me for not asking him first for a seat. I tell him I know the policy of asking the floor and I apologize. He ignores this and tells me if I want to play that my seat is over there (at my friend's table that is playing 7 handed). I tell him I'd rather not play and he says "well thats your choice."

So I sit to the side waiting for Big Bob to generously bestow me with a seat. Eventually another floor staff/dealer tells me to sit and I do.

Big Bob would rather have me not play and be raked than to have me defy his authority and sit at the 8 handed table instead of the 7 handed. He also went around ruthlessly IDing everyone and cutting a few people off from cocktail service.

Stan, is this why you have him working the graveyard shift?

Perhaps his attitide was not correct but the ruling was. Regardless the reason for not wanting to play at a certain table, we must make sure to keep the tables balanced.

All pokerrooms are very regulatory when it comes to players being sat at a specific table by the floor. I have been in the pokerroom during the day and when a player sat himself at the table the floorperson chastised the offendor also, so I don't think you where being singled out its just standard policy and balancing tables. As far as iding people thats pretty much self explanatory. Player at my table had to provide id and had to use foriegn passport as id he was of age to gamble . Dealer explained she could get fired if he was allowed to gamble and was underage. Don't know if casino can be held responsible if someone gets served too much and gets into an accident but I have seen other people in this thread complaining about the loud drunks so good job in cutting people off that had too much.

+1 to both of these. It is important to make sure that rules and laws be upheld, but the aforementioned floorman is sometimes a little over the top. He kicked out an only moderately loud drunk who was creating fun and action at the table. Maybe he can loosen up a bit .

Was hoping to make my Borgata return on Saturday, but don't want to risk getting caught up in the hurricane so perhaps a later date .

The rule is players must ask the floor for a seat so tables are balanced. You didn't follow the rules. You got chastised. That's life.

However, I do agree that he can be a little uptight at times.

Also, inb4 2+2 warning for violating privacy T&C.

Maybe a clean professional environment is desired at Borgata, by its management, instead of a loud and drunk atmosphere which some people consider to be "fun."

Come on people. You all are acting like the world is going to end, just because a cat 2hurricane will hit. Grow a pair. People in the south would laugh at your crying posts. If you are scared, get a dog. ffs.

Yes - just be sure to ask for a high floor to avoid the crashing waves from the pool!!

And, if the hotel gets blown over, you'll have an exciting fall from the high floor!

I'd rather be in Borgata during a hurricane than anywhere. Of course it's safe.

NJ has declared a state of emergency and Gov C. is asking people to stay away from the shore this weekend.

Stan: Please to be postponing the Deep Stack Bounty Sunday and reschedule on a day that the world is not going to end.

DJ I was not there and have no specific knowledge of what transpired in this particular case but in my experience these folks are very often good for your wallet and worth tolerating a (small) amount of shenanigans because of it.

Is the hotel even going to be operational? There's already an optional evacuation for the jersey shore and possibility of mandatory evacuation. Is borgata going to force their employees to come to work?

Guaranteed the Borgata forces their employees to come to work given the dealers aren't unionized.

I've heard more complaints from dealers this past weekend than any other weekend in the past btw. These complaints irk me because the dealers seem miserable as anything. The complaints revolved around having to sit at a "dead game" that had no chance of players coming to it. Let the dealers go home imo.

And that was my random rant of the day.
