I like 2+way games and am disappointed. Hopefully though this will lead to more PCG - like HOE and HOSE

Hi Stan,
I had a quick question for you. I am coming in this weekend to Borgata for the first time and was wondering if it is at all possible to start a game such as a 20/40-40/80 mix or a 5/5 or 5/10 PLO game. I havent seen any of these games offered in your status updates and was wondering if the Borgata would even allow trying to start a game/what the success rate would be. Thank you for your time and see you soon!

Obv I'm not Stan but....

The rough motto of the card room is "if you start a list....and that list fills up....and the game is legal...we'll spread it".

I don't want to burst your bubble but there is about a .001% chance of getting a 20-40 or 40-80 Mix game going. It's not that they won't spead a HOSE or whatever, it that the interest isn't there.

When you show up, ask to get it on the board though.

20 - 40 HOSE (list of interest)
finest

hope 5, 6, 7 people see it and a game pops up.

PLO is a diff story. It goes most (if not all) weekends these days. You SHOULD have luck getting a 2-5 game going (prob not 5-5) and much like the mix game, just start a list for 5-10 and see what happens.

The 2-5 game is basically 5-5 so you should be fine there. Blinds are 2-5 but the SB is counted as 5 when potting....ex: first pot raise (with no limps) is to $20 total

good luck at the tables

It's bad enough that it doesn't update until 2:30pm.. when just about anyone who is playing is already there... but when the data is incomplete it makes the room look dead...

AS OF 2:30 PM ON 03/24/10
10 TOTAL LIVE GAMES

(1) $2 - $4 Limit Hold'em
(1) $20 - $40 Limit Hold'em

(5) $1 - $2 No Limit Hold'em
(3) $2 - $5 No Limit Hold'em

No way in heck this is accurate... I hope they fix the bugs.. and also update starting at noon, and each 2 hrs.. 3 hrs is too dated.

I have to agree. I'm sure a significant amount of resources and time went to link data to the website in a semi-live way. Just needs some more work to make the information relevant.

There really shouldnt be this much trouble. One guy knowing what he is doing should be able set this whole thing up in a couple days.
And, if it is automated, it should have been (and could be) set up to update much more frequently, like every ten minutes. Could do it even more frequently of course, but there's no need for that.
If this whole thing is automated, that would indicate the waitlist system ('queue' or whatever its called) has an output feed. ship that output to a database, webpage updates from database. simple.

I love the change to make it a straight O8 game. Loved it enough to finally sit in it on (after staying away for so long) Monday til it broke. It really sort of boggled me that there wasn't a straight O8 option. Especially when there was so much explicit and implicit discontent with the stud portion of the game. It really looked like a way to appease the few over the many.

Now if we can just get a smaller O8 game to get more people playing. I feel bad for the people who have to sit at 10/20 and thinking they have 2 pair with KTT8 on a K9J board.

We may have a 60-100 H.O game on the weekend but that is usually the smallest game. We spread 5-10 pot limit Omaha on occassion but we do not spread 5-5 of anything.

Great idea Stan. I think there's a niche for a smaller O8 game.

Now, if a stud 8-only game could develop, that would be awesome.
Maybe $6/12 ($1 ante/$2 BI) ?
I could get at least 4 players on a weekend to start a list.

Any ideas/suggestions ?

I could be around this weekend, and I'd play if there was a list or a game.

It's sad for me because I considered myself a "stud 8 specialist" in that a lot of people know how to play O8 well but not very many in that 2way game knew anything about stud 8.

So I don't know if it will ever go again. Maybe a 2-way stud hi/8 game?

I dont know about the mixed games, but I do know that higher PLO is difficult to run, you will have a fairly big gap of the list of interest, 1/2 and 2/5 are lower limit, 10/25 and 25/50 PLO for higher limit, with 5/10 running very rarely.

If you know people well enough you can poll the 5/10 NL and 10/25 NL tables, and usually can get some PLO degens to put a list of interest for a bigger game.

Imo, not very many in that game have a clue about omaha either, so it shouldnt be a problem.

Played "E" for the first time ever in a casino in the 10/20 O.E game a month ago, i'll put it to you this way, I made a lot of mistakes and I still walked up 300 after a 5-6 hour session, not bad, granted I'm decent at O8 and yes I wheeled those biatches several times but to say that game is soft would be fair I thibk
