in response to: "After about an hour and half, I'm still 6th on the list, and the list has only grown to 7 people long. I don't think there is a good chance of a 3rd game starting, and I don't see an opportunity opening up for a seat in the 2 10-20 games, so I decide to leave. I drove 1:30 there, waited for 1:30, and then drove 1:30 home. Total cost = $20 tolls and parking + $20 gas. The good news is that I only lost $40 on the day since I didn't get to play. I'll try again in about a year to get a seat. Although, I do recommend they get Card Player or something for the people waiting like the Vegas casinos have... "

If there were 7 fresh names on the list then the floor should be within 30-45 minutes of starting a new game.

There are often magazines in the room and there are other free publications at the Concierge desk in the main lobby. Newspapers are available in the gift shops at the Water Tower or across from Starbucks.

There are always seats at the lower limits and no-limit and an hour in those games can be a fun way to pass the time while you wait for 10-20.

Don't be afraid of the Taj especially since the 10-20 games there can easily be more profitable. It's also less than a 4-hour plane ride from the Borgata.

If IWTSTH can be revoked due to abuse, the floor's answer shouldnt have been "he can do it forever" and then showing the rule book after back to back requests. Back to back is practically abusing it already.
Maybe the floor people need some training or something in this area.

I would just like to report that the 10-20 OE (no two way) game Sunday afternoon/night /Monday morning was the loosest and most fun I've ever seen it. Piles of chips going into the pot... capped 4 or 5 way in half kill pots on the river with non-nut hands. It was awesome.

Well, I'm not sure how much sense it makes. Like, If my guess is correct, then what would the two way be listed as in his mind?

Little off topic but....I never saw so many smokin hot girls at the B than I did on Sat night. I was at the tables near the front so I had a great view, holy ****. Had em all, smokin hot classy ones, smokin hot slutty ones, smokin hot young ones, sorta hot ones that hit the wall a few years ago but still dressin like their in their prime.

Unfortunatly for me, that was my highlight sat. Pot odds destoyed me and every river crushed me. The worst drunk player I ever saw was to my left and saw his chip stack drain from about 600 to nil without me ever getting my beak wet on his bloodletting. Boo.

I am going to the Borg tomorrow. Interested in the Tuesday night 7 PM $100+20 tourney. How many players does this tourney get? Good structure? Quality players?

Any info would be appreciated.

These tend to attract of lot of novice players due to the low buy in. A lot of people figure hey I'm here to gamble and it's only a hundo, which I can lose in the pits in like five seconds so why not.

I am sorry... the E was a typo. O8. The no-two way is because a few weeks ago that game was running 10-20 O8 for 1 hr and 30 mins stud-8. But now all omaha

I have a question, and I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post it. I play poker at the Borgata fairly often, and now I'm regularly offered the poker room rate for rooms in the hotel. I have been invited to join some friends on a trip to Las Vegas, I was wondering if the Borgata can help me get the poker room rate or a discounted room offer from any of the MGM-owned properties in Las Vegas. Is there someone at the Borgata poker room that I should ask about this?

One of the nice little bonuses playing at B on the weekend is going out to the smoking station in front of MurMur and admiring the eye candy.

If you go out really late it's like a +5 because most of them are sloppy drunk by then too.

Just call the poker room of the property you plan on staying at in LV, where (in my experience), it's MUCH easier to get the poker room rate than AC. I usually stay at Mirage, and they (used to) just use a paper & pencil system of tracking hours. I assume they're using electronic tracking now, but still easy. If you're an MGM-Mirage card holder, you should be getting great discounts on rooms anyway. (I received one last week for $66 Fri/Sat rooms from now through the end of April.)

Along with what's been said already, but not many people know you can also use your Borgata comp dollars at MGM properties via a voucher system you can get from the My Rewards desk.

Wow, they finally killed off the stud 8 half. I wonder if this is just a weekend thing, or is it going everyday as just 10/20 O8 ?

I also wonder if there's any interest in a stud 8-only game on Saturdays (if the 2-way game is essentially dead) ?

The last few times I've played it, the game starts off as OE (1 hr/30 min), then sometime after dinner, the regulars fight to change it to all O8. Sometimes they are successful and it runs full O8, sometimes they are not and it stays OE. I don't think they have killed off the stud 8 portion for good.

We decided to make it straight 10-20 O8. We changed it Sunday and the resuts have been wonderful. Normally the 10-20 O.E. would die at 5:30pm. Why? Because some players leave around that time and then the E part of the game starts and everybody would walk. Thus the game would die. Since Sunday the game has lasted well into the night. It went passed mid-night last night and it was strong all day today as well. Why? Becasue the game stays full. No walking. Two players went to eat together today and the game stayed 8 handed. It's after 10pm now and the game is FULL. This would never happen with O.E. If players want to play Stud 8 or better, we will spread that game. We just won't put them together.

I played in the game today and it was awesome! On a slow rainy Tuesday, the game was filled all day with a list. No people getting up for a half hour at a time, lots of juicy action, and lots of new players sitting down. For the first time, I didn't need the headphones because the game was not at all nitty, very pleasant for myself and probably the new folks as well.

Great Decision Stan!

awesome. this was a long overdue change. I look forward to playing this game now. I did like playing stud 8, but I agree it is a change for the better of the game overall.

Will every tournament have 3% taken out from the prize pool for dealer tips from now on? Even for the BSO tournaments not just the Daily tournaments?
