It must have started after your previous report and when I called he room, I was told it wasn't running. So I headed over to the Taj instead.

Hopefully it will get running tomorrow.

Stan -
How has the turnout been for the Survivor Tournaments? Specifically the Friday 5 PM ones.

Also, I've noticed over the past year that the Friday 50K guaranteed tournament has dwindled significantly in terms of turnout. I remember playing sometime last year and having over 500 entrants. Nowadays it seems like 200 people is a lot. I'm wondering if changing it from a 75k guaranteed to a 50k guaranteed has had that big of an effect on the numbers. Anything else you can think of that would cause that kind of decline in entrants?

The biggest culprit would be the economy. Stan

Stan, is there any way that a PCG of OE could ever get started there? What about HO?

How bout the turnout for the survivor tournaments? How many entrants have you been seeing for the Friday 5 PM survivor?

Next time you're there playing pink O8 or hold'em, start a list for OE or HO. if they get 10 names, they will call the game. Pink OE would be tough, they get 10-20 OE on a daily basis so you'd def have that option.

Their stance is always, "get a list and we'll call it". The problem is, there will be 10 names, they will call it and 4 will show up....then they won't want to play short handed (the players, not Borgata). If a 7.50-15 pink HO game was called and people would start 4 handed, I have a feeling it would get to at least 7 handed within 45 mins. That would be a great game. There are plenty of days where pink LHE and pink O8 don't run at all...but I'm sure players from both are there playing something else and pink HO would be a go.

Anyway:
Start a list...
Be willing to start short...
Be patient waiting for player 5,6,7+++

Hopefully it runs on Saturday. Do they ever run the 5/10 any more?

If the 10/20 OE is going ... and you might find it's turned into a 10/20 O8 and there's only like 5-6 people, start the PCG list and tell the table so they can sign up. All those people will likely sign up.

Hey Tab,

Do you know if you intend to have special holiday tournaments running on Thursday, December 24 or Friday, xmas day? Any details you can share?

Honestly, 60 ppl on Friday doesn't seem like a lot. I would have to think there is something other format that will draw more people to a tournament.

What have the numbers been on all the Fridays so far? what did you get when it was just a normal tourney?

You just don't draw em for a $400 event like you used to.

Prob one on Xmas day (12/25) similar to the Holiday event on Turkey day:
http://www.theborgata.com/Main.cfm?C...6EE5BC47C42DDE

Looks to be same as the daily $100 event except: $150, 25 min levels, 4pm start.

Hey all,

Is there an easy way to get from the Greyhound Station in Atlantic City to the Borgata? Should I just take the Jitney? Or are there direct shuttles that can take me where I need to go? I'm thinking about taking the bus down instead of driving from Center City.

IMO take the train from 30th St...its about the same price (16 vs 15 RT)...there is a shuttle from the train station and it is MUCH more comfortable and takes about the same time

Otherwise...walk to Ballys and take the Jitney or hail a cab on the east side of the bus station

Also as an FYI you can use your train ticket to take the 551 bus back, so that's always an option

The biggest motivator for me is location. I live very close to the bus station in Philadelphia and want to be able to come back in the middle of the night and only walk a few blocks home. Getting from my place to 30th Street will be a hassle.

I just called the Jitney people and they say they have one that leaves from the bus station and stops at the Borgata. So that problem is solved.
