Thanks.

I bookmarked the link. I figure that others would bookmark it too.

Hopefully, they won't keep asking for a game report, unless they miss seeing Stan post. I might not be here to post the link throughout the day.

Oh no!

Thanks.
I asked that already. Stan said 11am usually has limited games going and a report at that time would not give much info.

Personally I think it should be 11am-1am, done every 2 hrs, but that's me.

Even better would be it linked from the actual software used at the room to list/seat tables.

It's a good start though.

Stan, could you update the page to add "This page is updated at 2pm, 5pm, 8pm, 11pm and 2am"?

thanks!

I take it you arent the one who updates the live action report webpage?

Else I would assume you would update that page, rather than just posting updated info here (not that that's a bad thing), or both.

I think in this case, there was a specific PLO question so he answered it....

The updates are done automatically. I do not do them. I will still give a live game update here when asked. I just haven't been asked in over a week!!!

So the wife and I were thinking about going to the Borg next Monday into Tuesday. I called Tuesday and they said they had a complimentary room for me for Monday night. Sweet. They asked if I wanted to book it and I told them I wasn't sure if my wife could get off work Tuesday and would call back.

Called back yesterday and they said I had the poker room rate for Monday which was something like $79.99. I told them "I believe there has been a mix-up, the woman on Tuesday said I had a complimentary room". She told me to hold on so she could speak to her supervisor. She came back 20 seconds later and said they had to override the system and that my room would be complimentary. Good ****.

So how did I go from having a complimentary room to not in 2 days?

Not sure how I manage to get comp rooms on weekdays because I only play for maybe 20 hours @ 1/2 while I'm there. Maybe they know my wife plays Blackjack while we're there?

It's great that you can get comp rooms for playing 1/2. I go there on a weekly basis, playing about 10 hours of 1/2 while I'm there, and only get the poker rate.

Must be the blackjack!

Offers are based on availability. When you called the first time I would assume the offer was available. That means there were rooms being offered for that particular offer the first time you called. When the hotel starts to fill up the offers start to fade. Just like when you book a plane flight. The further out you book the better the price.

Heading down to Borg today. Going to play some 10/20 limit and maybe 20/40 if I run well and the 20 game looks good. I'm excited and hope the room is lively.

Quick question for you guys.

For the first time I just checked my comps and have just under $900. I was wondering what is the best value for comps? Honestly, am not really sure of my options other than gift certificate, foods, spa, and rooms.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Sent you a PM on Monday. I understand with the weather I'm sure things are hectic. Just a friendly reminder whenever you get a chance.

Thank you sir.

Sounds like you're already familiar with the main options.

The absolute safest value is in paying the $5 room tax/occupancy fee. Can't get sick or experience bad service and you're getting full 1:1 on a non-marked-up price.

But any of the sit down restaurants/buffets are great, too. If you have to eat and you're not getting direct comps for your play, then using comp dollars is the way to do it. Since it sounds like you might have enough play for a black card, the $10 Player's rate for the Borgata Buffet is a great value. Trip to the Amphora lounge is great too for $10. For $900, though, you could grab a meal at every restaurant Borgata has to offer.

The worst way to spend comp dollars is burning them up at a 2:1 ratio at the food court or retail shops. $30 for a hero? $25 for a pack of cigarettes?

One more option (besides Spa) is to transfer the comp dollars into vouchers for MGM properties in Vegas (a side benefit of the MGM and Boyd partnership) This transfers 1:1 also, but I think there's a minimum.

One other thing to keep in mind. Comp dollars expire after 180 days, so don't let them expire on you.
