I agree, but I want to be sure this was a sleight at my dollar tip first, rather than be wrong.

Only if you know each other well enough to where you could know that was a totally tongue-in-cheek comment by the dealer could it even begin to be acceptable (not to mention the way it still might be construed by the other players at the table), and you clearly don't know him/her that well. I see dirty looks from dealers in the area all the time for $1 tips. Tampa area dealers are used to being spoiled. It used to be you'd see them rarely tipped less than $2, and I've seen at least three times the percentage of pots tipped with redbirds here versus any of the other venues I've played in around the country. And hell, the cost of a decent standard of living for Los Angeles and San Diego dealers is MUCH higher than here, but they still respond as if they are grateful for $1 being thrown their way, even in larger pots. At the very least, that's basic customer service tact. Who's working for whom?

Thanks for your input. Your thoughts mirror my own. Looks like a second slot has been filled on the tipping blacklist.

Yes, but people think they don't.

I wouldn't try to get one. Passing along a horror story from a friend:

I was super tired. I went to get in my box [iirc, they didn't even ask for ID, just a name], they opened it up for me and it was empty. It turns out, I had put the cash in the box below my box the night before, and they never even locked it. So, anyone could have gotten into it, and if you lose your key, they don't check your ID so anyone can get in your box. Totally not secure. You'd be better off keeping the money in your sock.

Florida does not count as deep south

Florida is sort of like Long Island South, with nicer weather. Its really a melting pot here and not really the South, except for certain areas, but then again you'd probably never be in them..

I've played everything from 5/10/20 to 1/2 at THR , and you could not be more right. Lower stakes has lotsa poor players, but its a grind. easy money, smaller pots. Big games has lots of deep pockets who are hard to shake once they feel committed (doesn't take much) , so be prepared for mongo swings-

They finally put another TV up for the list. Its right over the ATM and the machine to check your hours. Its not up and running yet but that is the plan at least.

Have they fixed the rest of the TVs yet? Been in there last couple of nights and all the TVs had tons of static and flickering.

No, it took them 3 or 4 days to fix the same problem when there was a big storm a few weeks back. Probly another 3 or 4 days again.
The funny part is they have an A/V department to handle these things but still nothing gets done.

LOL. Yeah has to be the laziest AV dept in history. Not unlike the rest of their service of course though.

Funny random comment about last night. Not sure I've ever seen this happen, but I saw a complete drunk donk drop 22 full buy ins at my table last night. Not half buy ins, like 50 on the 1/2 or 300 on the 2/5, but FULL buy ins. Yes, 22 of them. Craziest stuff I've seen in a LONG LONG time there as far as pure donking it up

What stakes?

More importantly, did he mention when he'd be back?

Anyone care to give an update on the promotion and BBJ? I've not been this month and wonder if it'd be worth it to try to get in on the promotion. Is there a way to tell how close the 400 is to filling up?

Even if I knew when he'd be back, that would be my secret, lol. But that particular night I was on the 1/2. He dropped a 22 hundo spot! Wasted off his ass of course. He said he was coming back after the 22nd buy in, but 30 mins later, he never showed. I only got a hundered off him, but it was too easy.

Had KQ in the SB. He was in the CO position. Flop came out AQ6. Checked around. Turn was another Q. I checked again to let him get crazy, he didn't. River came a 3. No flushes possible. I just bet 10 into a pot of ~11. Got a few others to call, then he just shoves for a hunge when it gets to him. I snap call. 2 others fold. He showed 73 with bottom pair. Ship it.
