The 10/20 O8 game was called around 5:30pm yesterday and filled quickly, with a waiting list. A second table was called a few hours in, but one player wouldn't start it 6-handed. Another hour or two later the 2nd table was called and did go.

The main game ran until around 4am in the morning, and we're doing it again this coming Saturday and will be trying to keep the 10/20 Half-Kill running regularly each Sat around 6pm. Thanks to all who came out and said hi and signed up to play!

They already have seat assignments for day 2 of the $350 but yet still have day 1 flights to play. I've never seen this before, is it normal?

Yes, WSOP does the same thing. Day 1A may take up seats 1 and 6 on a table, 1B will have seats 2 and 7, etc.

I just hope they are actually combining all days in the redraw. I think I remember the last multi day tourney I played at hard rock did the same thing and everyone at my day 2 table had come from the same day 1 flight, which I found ridiculous.

For it to truly be random this needs to be possible, although it's more likely to be lazy seat randomization

How long to the comps stay in your account? The FAQ doesn't say.

FT the PLO and the turbo. Had a small cash today in the 100k but nothing major, got to be the one to bust the bubble tho, so that was semi-cool, lol. Hoping to make a run in the 560 this weekend, but for some reason seem to be a 150 tourney specialist only lol.

They actually jus ended up chopping heads up in the 100k a few minutes ago, usually doesn't even make it that far.

I'd say congratulations, but I know those aren't words you want to hear. Still, cashing is better than not cashing.

I wasn't prepared for how shallow stacks were going to be throughout the whole day. I figured we'd get a bit deeper after a bunch of knockouts, but that never happened. At one point, I was chip leader with 30 BB. It seems like this might be a regular occurrence from some of the conversation I heard.

Is it a rolling time period, or do all points disappear after 6 months of activity? In other words, would playing one every couple months preserve your point balance?

It's a rolling period calculated at the end of each month. So lets say you earned comps in Jan, Feb and March. The dollars you earned throught the month of Jan would all expire on the last day of July, or 6 months from 31 Jan to 31 July. Your dollars earned in Feb and March would still be good.

But here's something a supervisor told me shortly after they implemented the program. He said it was created to allow them to take off their books accounts where a person plays one weekend, earns $15 in comps, and then leaves town never to return. Without an expiration date, they could have to keep that potential liability on the books. Same if someone played for years and built up a huge balance.

So he told me that they werent going to automatically delete funds from everyones account exactly at the 6 month mark. That their system wasnt set up like that. I cant verify that's true, as I now usually use my comps regularly. I wouldnt recommend testing the system either. But that's all the background as to why they added the expiration date.

I heard similar things when they implemented the system; I'm not sure whether I heard about it in person or if I read about it here. That's actually the reason I'm asking, as I was curious as to how it was implemented.

I can verify that when I went to THR last week for the first time in probably over a year, I had zero points. Not that I had many comps to lose, but I do know they delete them at some point.

i'm sure you know this, but just to double check, when you said you were at zero dollars, did you check that on the machine across from the brush stand, or by swiping your card on one of the machines near casino entrances? They are two different systems so your card will show zero on the entrance machines or slots.

Just this week I heard a guy complaining that he had been playing for two days straight but his card had zero dollars. Turns out he was checking it in the main casino and not the poker room.

I checked the poker machine. I fully expected any comps I had to have been deleted, I was just verifying that it had actually been done. It had to have been a very nominal amount to begin with.

We'll be playing 6/12 Omaha hi/lo with a half-kill tonight, usually around 6pm or so.

Not sure. We only recently brought the 10/20 HK back, and the casino is already trying to kill it.

The first week we played it (two weeks ago) they charged the regular rake and we had two tables going.

The second week a number of players arrived much earlier than the 6pm planned start time and got the game running around 4:15-4:20pm

The floor had the dealer collect a time charge of $6 per person, then about 10 minutes later a new dealer showed up and wanted to take $6 per person as well.

FOUR guys got up and left the game pissed. I arrived around 5pm or so and we kept the game going, but were told they wouldn't do rake, it was only going to be a time charge.

Not only did the double-dipping upset a lot of players, but also the fact that:

* A number of dealers in the rotation are extremely slow. So we might get six hands out of them on their down but we're paying a time rake

* There was an issue where a dealer counted the well/till, counted it again and thought she was under by $7 so she called the floor. It took awhile for the floor to show up, then he counted it and saw it was $11 over. Meanwhile we've paid our time charges but have sat for 10 minutes without any hands being dealt

We wound up having one full table and then a waiting list of 6 players last Saturday. Of course, if the poker room had actually not been looking to get pennies at the cost of dollars they would've had two full games running again, but it seems they don't care.

We'll be playing again tonight though (I'm planning to arrive around 4pm)

Last week I was on a full table 9-handed rock garden 2/5 and moved over to an 8-handed aquarium 2/5. Even though I had been 1st on the transfer list a supervisor forced me to move back until they filled the seat I had just left. How can these supervisors continue to make these appalling rulings? It is clear that they dislike me but the way I am being treated you would think I'm sleeping with their wives or something.

Is angle shooting normal here?

I played at the Hard Rock for the first time last week. There was an older guy playing dumb and angle shooting all night. He would only make one or two “mistakes” per dealer. I guess so they would not catch on. One player called him out on it, but nothing happened. He would constantly bet or check out of turn. Twice when he checked out of turn with the nuts or second nuts only to raise when it got to him (both time a player bet before him so he could raise). Another time he pushed what was clearly a raise and said, “I guess I call” as he pushed the chips in. The dealer ruled it a raise since the chips when in first. This hand worked out well as the other guy reraise him, angle shooter instantly went all in, and lost with the nut flush to a rivered boat. Im from out of town so will not be playing here often, but wondered if this is common or not.
