The amount of bias that goes into floor rulings in this room is beyond abhorrent. Last month I was on the transfer list to go to a full table and after over an hour a seat finally opened up. The brush at the podium sent the next player (a scumbag known for ratholing) on the waiting list to this table so I immediately went up to a supervisor and attempted to claim my seat. I was told that because he had already been dealt in there was absolutely nothing they could do about it.

The supervisor from this incident happens to be extremely uptight so this was very shocking. On multiple occasions I have witnessed this same supervisor hand a player a rack and tell the dealer to have them dealt out because they transferred themselves without permission. This is AFTER they had already paid their blind and requested to just play their button before leaving.

I get it. Rules are rules. But when when your personal feelings ultimately dictate how you enforce them it is disgusting, unprofessional conduct. You cannot choose to let sh*t slide with one person but let another get away with the same offense. Hollywood Hard Rock is a class act in comparison to this joke of a room. The incompetence and corruption here never ceases to amaze me.

Saw a sign on the brush stand last night that said starting Oct 1 they are doing away with the 1/1nl game. They said they arent lowering the min buyin for the 1/2 nl though. A dealer then told me a funny story about the 1/1 game. He said the sb and bb posted the blinds, and after the deal the UTG guy is tanking. Thinking he must not realize its on him, the dealer mentions to him that its on him.

The UTG guy gives the dealer a dirty look, and says in a very annoyed tone, "I know. I'm doing the math ".

Also had one of the craziest hands I've ever played last night. UTG raises, about 5 people call (it's Friday night at the HR!) so I call OTB with Q7s (soooooted!). Flop is Q77. I can hear those aces crackin already. UTG bets, everyone folds I call. Turn 6, UTG bets pretty big, so I raise all in. She snap calls, and I'm thinking I just have to dodge an A or K.

That is until she rolls over QQ! Yikes! What a cooler. Until the river comes out a 7! So my quads win, and it just rolled over to a new half hour for the high hand by 1 minute, and my quads hold up for the $300 high hand. It's nice to see all my game studying pay off!

Any reason for getting rid of the 1/1? I know it wasn't as popular as 1/2 but it still was a draw for lower limit players wanting a $100 buy-in max.

Didn't realize they got rid of it but happy to see. It's almost impossible to make money playing $1/$1 with a short stack with the rake they charge - and it's especially impossible given how bad short stacked players usually play at the cheapest stakes. All that game did was generate money for the casino and no one else.

I think it just wasnt attracting that many players. For example, when the dealer was talking about it, we looked at the wait list on a holiday weekend Friday night around 11pm, and there were only two 1/1 tables running with no list. I think the reason they created it at all after raising the buyin limits for 1/2 was this notion that they wanted to keep a $100 max buyin no limit game as a legacy game for those customers who played the 100 max buy in game when that was all the law allowed.

But its been a long time since those days, and those people have mostly either graduated to normal buyin games or left by now.

Those old time players are probably at 1/1 at Derby, chasing the better high hand jackpots.

$1 and $2 comps per hour coming in October according to twitter?

Permanent or just an October promo?

This may be replacing the poker room comps with casino comps, which would mean that the comp dollars would only be good at the casino venues (restaurants & stores) and not for poker room tourney buy-ins.

A dealer last night said they were just increasing the current comps to 1/2 instead of .60/1; using same system and all.

Nope. Here is an explanation of the new comp system, taken from the Hollywood Hard Rock thread:

We are integrating our poker comps to the tie poker players with the rest of the casino and all Seminole Gaming Properties. This program will standardize all properties and poker players will now have one account across all properties combining all their poker, table games and slot play. This will allow players to earn and spend comps from property to property and consolidate their play in regards to casino promotions. The current program in place is funded by the poker jackpot drop and starting October 1st the new program will be funded by the casino. Those funds that were formerly designated for player rewards from the poker jackpot drop will now be used in the poker rooms for poker promotions starting October 1st . The comp rates are increased for most games across all our properties which is added value for the majority of our players. There will be no need to print comps in the future state as players will just need to swipe their Seminole Wild Card at our outlets to redeem their comps which can be used throughout all the properties. The Seminole Wild Card program is an existing program and comp dollars have a 60 day expiration date so to integrate poker to this larger plan, this was something we decided to change and feel 60 days is enough time to spend earned comp dollars. During this change we will make sure no players lose any comp dollars and if anyone has issues with expired comps please contact a staff member to rectify the situation. While Comp Dollars can be used at the hotels, steakhouses and other outlets they can’t be used for buy-ins at the gaming tables, slot machines or poker tournaments. Keep in mind these Comp Dollars are funded by the casino and this is just the beginning stages of a larger program that opens up a wide variety of possibilities for cross-property promotions, expanded casino promotions and tier benefits for poker players. In the future we will be able to include poker players for programs like Elite Seminole Wild Card status.
Take-aways:

Earn rate for comp dollars for poker will be higher.
Comp dollars will expire in 60 days.
Comp dollars can't be used for tourney buy-ins.
Comp dollars will be on same system as the rest of the casino, and available cross-property.
Comp dollars will no longer come out of the poker jackpot drop.

...depending on what they do with all those extra dollars for promotions available to the poker room from the jackpot drop, I would imagine. Could be great, could suck.

So I'm guessing we won't be able to use comps in the food court, since they don't accept casino comps? Doubling the hourly is nice, but waiting forever at Rise for a pre-made turkey wrap, not so much. It'll probably be constantly packed if poker players can't get their free meals at the food court. I hope this is somehow not the case.

I thought i vaguely remembered seeing signs up at some of the retail stores long ago that talked about comp dollars not being equal to real dollars. So I just looked at the THR poker webpage, and they have a section on the new comps. Sure enough, at retail stores in the casino, 2 "comp dollars" equals 1 real dollar. So depending on where you spend them, that increase to two comp dollars per hour isnt an increase at all. They are careful to use the term Comp Dollar instead of just Dollars to describe what you earn, since they arent always the same thing.

Given the high prices in the retail stores, and the new 60 day expiration of comp dollars, and the 2 equals 1 dollar exchange, I guess I'll never be able to afford that flashy Hard Rock Coffe Mug anymore.

Guess I'll just have to wait for the next Swag Bag promo and hope I get lucky.

But is it only "retail stores" where it is $2 Comp Dollars to $1 real dollar, and restaurants, hotels, bars and lounges are $1 Comp Dollar to $1 real dollar.

the comps come out of the jackpot drops? and then expire? so they get to put that money in their pocket too (just like the tourney fee when they give away tourney seats out of the jackpot drop)?

if the action here weren't so good i'd never go here. i wish another major casino would give it competition. they're just looking for any way to gouge their customers it seems.

i realize i may be misunderstanding something here... please correct me if i'm wrong or missing something.

Time to update the FAQ, Browser:

Comp Dollars are earned for live poker play, using your Seminole Wild Card:

$1-$2 No Limit/Pot Limit & $5-$10 Limit games and lower earn $1 Comp Dollar for every hour played.
$2-$5 No Limit/Pot Limit & $6-$12 Limit games and higher earn $2 Comp Dollar for every hour played.

Comp Dollars expire after 60 days.

Comp Dollars can be redeemed at hotels, restaurants, bars, lounges and retail stores at all Seminole casinos in Florida.

The redemption rate at the "retail stores" is $2 Comp Dollars to $1 real dollar.

Comp Dollars cannot be used at slot machines, table games or poker tables.

(Unexpired Bravo poker rewards dollars earned before Oct 1, 2015 can no longer be redeemed but can be exchanged at the poker podium for equal value in Comp Dollars.)
