tampa area has a 5-5-25 game like 3 days a week now (sometimes 4-5). granted its not really open to the public. but bring enough cash and look like a big enough idiot and you will get a seat!

I hate to be that guy, but pretty sure all the tampa area vs sofla and what games run in the tampa area posts go in a different thread.

I'm not sure if its the time of year, proximity to the holiday or I just got lucky with opponents but this is one of softest rooms I've played.

I mostly play Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods in CT, much more difficult than rooms in Vegas I've played but jeez luise were they terrible at the Hard Rock tonight.

I table selected for stack size at 1-2 and 1-1. I only ran into 3-4 decent players at the 4 tables I played all night. Most were tight-weak or loose passive with a few uber donks sprinkled in. The rest were playing very transparent ABC poker.

None of my cbets or steals were played back at, most of my value bets were called. Great night of poker. Would play here again, especially this time of year.

One thing, I was able to get my whole stack in preflop in the lead with AA vs KK, unfortunatley the river was a K and lost a $360 stack (1-2). The room was so terrible though overall the evening was a $3 profit! Wooooooo

It may have been unusually soft due to the holidays as we get a lot tourists from CT down here this time of year.

Had a funny thing happen today at the table concerning high hands. This guy gets quad 8s, but they only last about a minute before they get beat by a bigger hand. The next half hour, he gets quad 2s just a couple of minutes into the new half hour. So the guy next to him says "I wouldn't buy that from you for $10" and everyone laughs. But then a player at the other end of the table goes "I'll buy it for $20". The player with the quad 2s says OK, and the guy tosses the chips to him. Right as the chips hit the felt, they announce a new high hand, quad Ks. The guy hits quads twice, and neither one holds up for more than one minute, but at least he made $20 on the second ones.

That $20 would have been better spent on powerball tickets lol

How does the gas card promo work? Is it 25 hours in a week? In a month? Can you get multiple cards in a week or month? Anything to be aware of? Thanks

Last time I did this promo a few years back, it was a limit of 1 gas card per week.

When I did it no, it was by week, but I can't find any real info on the site. You could just give them a quick call.

You can spread the hours over multiple weeks and you can get as many cards as you are able to. No limit of one per week or having to do all 25 hours in one week. They've been doing it this way for the last few gas card promotions.

Hey all

I'm coming down to the sarasota area later this month and have never played poker in FL. I prefer plo8 and plo, but would also play NLHE . Can you tell me what games I can expect to see spread on weekdays at the tampa hard rock? I'll be there on a monday-friday. Any special nights that plo8 or plo is spread?

5/5 plo runs every day except Mondays, when the game is Moved elsewhere, for the most part, PLO8, on the other hand, isn't generally spread ever, atleast to my knowledge. All holdem games are spread throughout the week, except 5T which generally only gets running Thursday thru the weekend.

Could have been some spur of the moment thing, but for the most part plo8 won't run. Plo min Max is 200/300 - 1000..not sure if they changed the min when it changed to 5/5 but it's one of those 2

5/5 PLO buy in min. is $200, max $1,000.

IMO they should increase the min.

As mentioned by TG38 PLO8 never runs at THR, there is a game that runs at Derby Lane on occasion. You'd have to meet some of the players and get an invite.

Yes, running it twice is allowed in any back of the room games, 5/5+ PLO and 5/10+ NLH.
