Wow, that's the first I've heard of this. He was a really nice dude. One of my favorite dealers to see coming to my table, actually. Always in a good mood, always smiling. Damn. That SUCKS.

Chatter in room last night was that they arrested someone playing at one of the poker tables and that the person had a firearm on him which was confiscated.

Did anyone see this happen or can anyone confirm?

Can confirm, it was at a 1/2 table around 715-730. Cops walked right in, stood buddy up, frisked him, found a concealed weapon, and cuffed his ass.

I was at that table

Dude led out $10, and then they grabbed him. I was on the button with Q/J and asked, "does the $10 stay in" lol

they gave him the $10 back....

no idea why he had a piece on him, but was told he had a permit and someone that saw the piece alerted the cops

they were on it though, so if he had bad intentions, they werent going to give him an opportunity...

Even if Florida has a carry & conceal law, the casino is private property and they don't have to allow it even if allowed by law.

Refresh my memory.

Is it still absolutely freezing in the poker room?

Do the tables have USB or outlets?

There are outlets along the walls you can use, but none at the tables. As for "absolutely freezing", the answer is no. It's usually about 5-10 degrees above freezing.

Table #14 has i believe USB outlets. They added it to that table some time ago as a test.I did hear from someone recently that THR was considering replacing the tables to include new shufflers and usb ports, not sure about a timeline or if its just a rumor.

I'm a 2-5 times a month rec player and usually play evenings into late night. I may go play tomorrow (Friday) from about 11am-6pm. How are the 1/2 games generally during that time?

Active and profitable (although get a table change if your table is too difficult). Evening is better, obv.

Unless they changed it in the last week or so, 1/2 is 60-300.

Thanks for correcting! I see that this is what it also says in FAQ.

We can run it twice in the back, 5/10+ NL and 2/5+ PLO in normal raked games. Must be heads up only on turn and/or river.

Can you still run twice all in HU pre-flop, just with one flop and two turns/rivers, or is it specifically only allowed post-flop? If that's the case, it's quite weird.

One flop with two turns and rivers although Im sure this will depend based on dealers and floors.

Question for our tourney players. Is this big stack event coming up considered a big deal? By that I mean is there a lot of interest/buzz about it among tourney players? Do you expect a lot of out of town players to come? How would you compare it to say the little slick?

The little slick got around 1400 entries. Do you predict similar turnout for the $150 deep stack. Seems to me having a Thurs Day 2 would limit people who could play that. What about the $350?

I know I'm just asking for crystal ball guesses, but just wondering if this tourney is on everyones radar or if it's really considered a "ho hum" deal. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

The buzz from surrounding rooms seems pretty high. I don't make it to HR on a regular basis outside of decent tournaments and I think the numbers will be nice.
