At least PBKC has same-pool bonus hands, but in Omaha its on the flop only, to make the same amount of cards seen as Hold'em.
It's not that clear cut. You can use 1 card for 4 of a kind or Str-flushes in Holdem. That offsets the Ohama advantage. To what degree or how exactly the math works out, I don't know, but it at least feels like it's nearly even.

What kills the hell out of me is they said they are going to structure the high hand so the bigger games pay more. Every table is dropping the same $1 per hand. Makes no sense.

Bigger games should be paying less in JP$ as the frequency at which hands reach showdown is significantly less, and disproportionate in favor of the other games.

How's the 5/10 hold'em been lately? Soft game or mostly full of pros? What days does it run, and what days and times are the best? I usually play 2/5 but am thinking about taking my first 5/10 shot. Is the 5/10 here ideal for taking a first shot?

Game usually runs fri and sat, sometimes sun afternoon or mid week night. Late afternoon to nite are best for a game.Better action during tournaments and a mix of players.

Yes. It's a mix of good and bad players. If you go during busier hours (afternoon, evening, weekend), it's easy to change tables if you find yours is too tough (except for less populated games/stakes - PLO, 5/10 NLHE).

Congratulations THR poker room management, you solidified your place as a contender as the worst run poker room in America.

They had a tournament running on at least 12 tables (111 players), about 10 cash game tables running, about 30 empty tables and well over 150 people on waiting lists at 12:30 on a Sunday. Pretty much every game had a waiting list in the 40's. The poor people wanting to play 1-1 didn't even get a table running until about 3:00 even though the list was over 30 people.

Standard for THR. Thank god I had family plans or else I would've been there at that disaster.

Just don't emphasize your criticism to them via Twitter . They have a tendency to block you from their official Twitter page and their directors page.

Who's dumb idea was it to make taking pictures with Hard Rock girls an actual promotion? They are all normal waitresses/bartenders we see everyday anyway. If we really wanted to see some girls we would hit up the strip club. I'm sure the horny old farts are thoroughly enjoying it though.

Yes. I would expect only 2/5 & 1/2 NL to be playing at those hours.

How are we still feeling about the Tampa vs everywhere else debate? From what I've read seems like this one single solitary place is better than all of south florida? Would anyone agree?

There are bigger games in South Florida. Isle is spreading a 10-25 nl and Hardrock has a 25-25 plo.

Not to mention the cyclical nature of the west coast of Florida.

East coast has solid action year-round, whereas the west coast has their best games from Dec-March, and then the snowbirds go home.
