Yes but only in hu pots meaning it can be ran for side pots if they are hu but the main pot goes only for the first board.

Oh...the dip**** dealers/floors out there finally got the way to do business right. Maybe I'll come back out there and play again.

You mean you stopped playing at the THR because of the way they used to run it twice? I'm not that familiar with different ways of running it twice; how did they used to do it that drove you away?

Before if there were more than two players involved in the pot, you couldn't run it twice. Before that, there was no running it twice at all.

Just thought I'd pass along a really strange hand that happened this morning at 2/5nl. It's not a strategy post, just a WTF hand.

Play up to the river doesn't matter, but after the river is dealt, the board is Q8585 and the pot is around $400.

Player 1 checks;
player 2 bets $160;
Player 1 check raises to $360.
Player 2 tanks and says "do you have quads" then finally calls the 360.
Player 1 says "you win"
Player 2 says "full house" and tables J9; that's right, J9, not J8; he realizes his mistake and goes "****, I thought I had an 8"
Player 1 says "you're still good" even though Player 1 is now playing the board. He holds up his hand and I see it's 67, but I can't say anything. After what felt like forever but was probably 10 seconds, Player 1 casually tosses his hand face up on the table, in effect tabling his hand.
Both players chop a pot over $1000 by playing the board.

Anyone else playing in the little slick series?

I fired a bullet yesterday but got sucked out on for most of my stack after some guy bluffed off his flush draw and hit on the river. I have only played a couple of live tourny's but it really blows my mind how many players have no clue what they are doing. There were multiple times I would 5x or 6x on the button into 5 limpers and all 5 called and going to showdown with hands like T7s. I figured the 150k would have a stronger player pool but it seemed like I only played with 1 or 2 players that could beat 2NL on Bovada.

It's a $150 buy-in tournament. It will generally be populated by $150 players.

You should move up and play higher buy in tournaments where they'll respect your raises and where they never semi bluff or chase frushes.

Thank you for the sarcasm. I mainly play online so what I was asking is if the player pool is always that weak or it was just a coincidence.

Live poker in Florida is always full of weak players. Sometimes it's a gold mine, sometimes it's a mine field. Think variance-squared.

The flyer for this tournament says 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19. In actuality, Feb. 19 is a Thursday.

The series schedule has it at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19.

Which day is this tourney? Thursday, Feb. 19, or Friday, Feb. 20? 2 p.m. or 3 p.m.? Thanks.

Stupid question: which location is "better" (or at least larger, more table etc), Tampa or Hollywood?

Tampa has more tables than Hollywood by a fair margin.

I like the extension of the high hand hours to 3am on the weekends. I think it will encourage many weekend rec players to stay longer into the morning. I thought it was dumb to cut it off at 9pm last month.

How do i find out who buys the $100 gas cards at 80-90 cents on the dollar? Best offer ive got is $70. Also a guy next to me the other day won a $3500 satellite seat and sold it for $2000. If i were to win that i think surely i could find a buyer for $2500

TBC at THR Tampa. I'll give you $85 if I run into you to help you out. You don't know me. I'll keep an eye out for you. Maybe you can get your pic in the poker room somewhere between JaRule and Meatloaf.

I feel duped. They call them gas cards, so I gave it to my wife, thinking she could just use it for gas. Then she comes back from the convenience store seeming unusually upbeat. She discovered she could use the card to buy lotto as well. Oh well, at least we got one tank of gas out of it.

You bring up a good point. I knew they were usable for anything sold at the gas station, and used mine to pick up a 12 pack one time, thinking nothing of it. But now I'm thinking, just imagine how many more people would be there grinding hours for this promo if THR advertised them as "$100 beer cards". That would be the thing to do.
