Same. I feel like the amount new nixed games players like myself should more than make up for the relatively high rake. The 8/16 mix I played at Encore a while ago had a lot of big pots with marginal hands at showdown, including one where I forgot aces are high in 2-7 Triple Draw.

Big bet and limit game mix is not going to fly at low stakes, you are talking about two different breed of players.
How do I know? Because I'm strictly limit player and know many others who would not touch big bet poker.

If somehow the room can get a HORSE, HOSE, or even ROSE on regular basis I will be there every weekend faithfully.

Let me know when you will start running this game - I'm in. (This week-end could work for me)

I’d be happy to join if it happens Friday. What time do these usually start?

Not sure of schedule yet but I was planning on stopping by today and seeing if the floor is up for calling this game often on Fri/Sat/Sun when it is busiest. They should be happy and I just want the plaques and other details ready ha.

$4 small blind $8 big blind $8-$16 Limit Omaha hi lo 8 or better

$4 small blind $8 big blind $8-$16 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

$2 small blind $2 big blind NLHE $160 cap

$2 ante $2 bring-in $8-$16 Limit Stud 8

$4 small blind $8 big blind $8-$16 Limit Badugi Triple Draw

$2 small blind $2 big blind Pot Limit Omaha hi lo 8 or better $160 cap

$4 small blind $8 big blind $8-$16 Limit Hold'em

$4 small blind $8 big blind $8-$16 Limit Badacey (Badugi/A-5) Triple Draw

$2 small blind $2 big blind Pot Limit Omaha high only $160 cap

Now if they can get both this 2-2/8-16 and 5-5/15-30 going but that would be nice. Not sure if there are enough players for both.

Damn, this is actually perfect with blinds, limits and games. I would definitely be in for this and could get 3-4 other people interested as well. Let’s do this.

Very interested in the mix at any stake 8/16 - 20/40. 60-80 bb cap on the big bet games feels right, otherwise they will dominate the play too much.

One suggestion on the 9-game would be to drop PLO8 in favor of either Big O or No Limit 2-7 single draw. Very in favor of setting a standard mix and sticking to it so you don't get the politics and people adding their name to the list just to back out when they don't see the game they want or don't want to play a certain game.

If this was reliably running I would play every time I was in the house on a Friday or Saturday, just tell me when to show up!

Let us know, even if only tentative date/time, after you speak to the staff. I'll surely try to get out of my way to come and play at this table, should be a fun one.

The big bet games would be very awkward with $2 chips. I'd rather 10-20 than 8-16, but 15-30 would be my preference.

I'm in favor of this concept, but I think the key to make it a good game is to have both limit and PL/NL in the mix. The last thing you want is a limit only game which would attract just the, sorry guys, limit nerds. I've played the 8-16 mix and while everyone was pleasant, it wasn't what I'd consider a good or even just decent game. Lots of blind chopping, players only giving action when they had the nuts or sitting out a round because they weren't an expert in one of the games etc. You'd have to have some sort of rule where people can't continuously sit out 1 or 2 games.

And fwiw, imho badacey, baducey are garbage games created just to confuse new players.

Not only that but those hands take forever. Not fun games at all.

For mixed games you should eliminate Hold'em and 7 Card Stud from the rotation. A good mix would be:

Omaha 8
Stud 8
Deuce to Seven Triple Draw
Archie (5 Card draw double qualifier. Pair of 9's for the high, 8or better for the low.)
5 Card Omaha Double Board
Dramaha (5 card Omaha with the best Omaha hand takes half the pot and the best draw hand takes the other half.)
Razzduecy Duece to Seven (Aces are high. Split between best Razz and best 2-7)

and you are sure the Mass.Gaming.Comm has approved these games?

A good rotation would be games that everyone is familiar with, to include:
H-old em
O- maha/8
R- azz
S- tud
E-ight or better Stud hi/Lo....perhaps, like almost all the rest of the country.

If one is trying to build out a customer base in a new poker room, you don't want to spread a game that a number of people never heard of, never played, never will, and will walk away from.
Congrats to the room for trying to establish a good, solid limit game base; the game that brand new players wiull actually feel comfortable at.

Don't think they've approved the newer/less played games tbh. But THORSE and then potentially add in some nl2-7/other big bet games with a cap seems like a good start.

Also razz unfortunately not approved. 2-7 Triple Draw is though. I agree with avoiding the obscure games but I think triple draw as a limit game is non-threatening enough to replace razz in a HORSE-like mix.

Any progress on starting the mixed game mentioned above one of these days?

Looks like a list only with 2 players. But there is one 8/16 Limit Holdem game

I assume the 8/16 mix game listed is still the limit mix game that's been happening already and the proposed game in this forum would be a new game on the list?

I would disagree.
Badacey and Badeucey are good games, but I would avoid any triple draw games unless you're at a short table. Hands just take too long. Razzdugi would be a good replacement.

Stelios suggests a good mix of games.
Now, I know it will never happen, but these games play great as Pot Limit.

It's all about those 4-5 folks who show up and play regularly until enough people know to rely on it happening. I'm not likely to be one of them but I'll support just about any mid stakes mix spread when I can get to Encore. Which just so happens to be tonight.

Not sure what some of you fools are talking about but limit hold'em is the game of the future. Recognize.

My advice, worth exactly what you paid for it, is the same.

As long as you keep bickering over what games and what stakes and what day, nothing will happen. Someone needs to get 4 other people together, set a time, and all of you play short. Do it for a few weeks. Once the time is established, more people will come. Once you have a full game running on its own, then you can start to noodle with games or stakes. But until then it is just a distraction keeping the game from even starting.

I heard you can get 2 free Chick-fil-a sandwiches from tableside service, you just have to red card booth for the offer. Anyone confirm?

First I've heard of a CFA anywhere near Everett. Wouldn't waste points on this anyways.
