So I got the answer to my question. Lattimer, if you want to put this on the first page, I can confirm the following for the TIERS:

RED CARD: 0-6,999 TIER Points
PLATINUM CARD: 7,000-69,999 TIER Points
BLACK CARD: 70,000+ TIER Points

Does poker earn tier points? If so, what's the rate, and does it vary by game/stakes?

I am not 100% sure, but the document I viewed did not exclude any specific games. It basically said "Players can earn Tier Points by playing their favorite games..." I assume, poker is included in this. Anyone who is a regular (and only plays poker) can probably confirm what kind of Tier points they get for their play by logging onto their Wynn Account and viewing their current status.

Unfortunately my only play so far in 2020 was last night from 10pm-130am. Currently showing zero tier credits, but maybe it needs a day to post.

I don't know if the poker system will work with Wynn Rewards, but this appears to be separate from Red Card when you look at your profile. (WR is all the way at the bottom)

No surprise. The dozen or so times I went from Millbury half the time I was the only one on bus.
Had too many scheduled trips each day so maybe if only one or two or if in spring they start again. How knows.

Unfortunately for us, tier credits are not earned with poker play, per the poker room director.

Local paper reporting that automatic drink dispensers will be installed sometime in future. I like those. Also reporting that there may be a layoff coming of 70 emloyees but Encore says no.

They aren't for customers to use (like the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines you see), they are for "back of house" bartending. In other words, you'll still order from a server. The server will go out back and put the order into the machine and it will dispense it rather than the server giving the order to a bartender to fill. Pros are that the drinks should be consistent in ratios. Encore is claiming it will help speed up service, but I'm skeptical. If you've ever been to a restaurant where the server had to punch your order into a device tableside rather than writing it down, you'll realize how much this could actually slow service down. I'm sure there'll be some quick keys like the beers, Jack & coke, etc. But then when you have more unusual orders you'll have the server trying to navigate menu after menu looking for this mystery drink. Time will tell.

What you say makes sense. The article stated that bartendering jobs were at risk. Now I see why.

Reminds me of when Mohegan reopened their poker room, and I asked for a beer, and the cocktail waitress moved on before I could specify what type of beer.

The Lord of Hobo will love this one

Caesars and/or MGM properties in Vegas have begun switching over to this. I think there are observations in LVL about the difference in service (I can't recall if better or worse).

At Encore, the only slow drink service I ever experienced was in the poker room. That seemed to be due to not enough waitresses, though.

And they still don't offer an IPA in the poker room, but tht's another rant.

I've found the trick in the poker room is to take a table as close to the cage as possible. Servers pass by the cage to get to the backroom (between cage and elevators) where they get the drinks. So service is usually best here.

Idk. Today I’m in the 70s so I can watch the girls go back and today has been the absolute worst service I’ve ever experienced. We would go over an hour inbetween drinks

Worst at MGM properties.

Not being able to earn Tier Credits with poker is standard at other casinos or no? Is it true that poker players got free rooms at Foxwoods and Mohegan with enough hours of play? If we did earn Tier Credits I wonder how long it would take to get to 70,000 TCs for Black status is what I am curious about primarily for the VIP parking.

Foxwoods and Mohegan allow tier advancement through poker. I know a couple people who made diamond @ foxwoods with only poker play (average 61 hrs/week.) Most regs have platinum (21 hrs/wk) and even at gold you get room offers. They do however have a surplus of rooms in an undesirable location.

Tier levels(except Diamond) isn’t a guarantee of free rooms. I know platinum cardholders who have been stiffed and I’m a gold now(previously platinum) and I don’t get free rooms Encore Boston Harbor Casino (Everett, MA) - FAQ in OP

Your numbers are way off... the number for Diamond is roughly 28.2 hrs per week while the number for Platinum is only 5.6 hrs per week.

Jsych is correct in that gold or platinum doesn't guarantee you any free rooms at Foxwoods. Room comps are mainly based on how much action you give them, how much you lose gambling playing games other than poker, and to a lesser extent how far away you live from the casino.

Today is the quietest non-inclement weather Thursday since the Encore has opened.

Today has the smallest non-Sunday night, non-inclement weather tournament (52 entrants) since tournaments have started at the Encore.

The poker room has to be under-performing management expectations.

Anyone else notice the draft beer cup has shrunk in size?
The poker room is down to 2 draft beers available and no call liquor, just well liquor. Only a matter of time till the Perrier bottle water disappears.

The Encore Everett is the ugly step sister of the Wynn Resorts brand.

They are doing whatever they can to try and make up for their slot numbers falling so far below their projections.

Negative sir.... 10k pts for diamond. 6.82/hr averages out to 61 hrs per week in a 6 month cycle. Perhaps you are confusing diamond for platinum and platinum for gold.

You have to have done some really weird **** to not get free rooms as a platinum. Although it's not completely guaranteed like it used to be, except for June/July/August you'll get rooms. If you play pits or slots you'll get rooms even easier. The new CEO is gritting a bit stingy with the rooms but they're still not hard to come by.
