A little bit of garage gossip: We will be losing a good sized chunk of the top parking level (level 2) as it is going to be taken and used for VIP parking. I was told the section of the garage to be taken will include the north elevator area which is the elevator that takes you directly to the poker room. This is for level 2 only as far as I know/been told

I must admit it's a little disappointing that our 2+2 parking commissioner hasn't already let us know of this development to squeeze the garage a little tighter.

I usually get there between 9 and 10pm and the right into level two is usually blocked off and few if any spaces. I just go to level 4 automatically.

When I went on Saturday around 5, the sign said 160 available on 2 and 14 on 3 and 16 on 4. 2 was blocked off. 3 & 4 were just a mass of cars driving around fighting to find someone leaving the casino. After circling for almost 30 mins I went up the exit ramp and sneaked through the cones on 2 and parked there. I hope this isn't the way it's going to be from now on.

Was the entrance ramp for level 2 blocked on both sides? When arriving I've often seen cones on the right side (where the North Elevators are) but none on the left (Resort Elevators side).

Yep, cones as well as attendants waving people down to 3.

I'm surprised they wouldn't have made a deeper garage. Unless they couldn't due to the water table or something.

For any wondering about the new tier system

are 'tier credits' the same as points? implying that one would need to play 7000 hours to reach platinum from poker?

I don't know if they will be giving any tier credit for poker play, but if what you suggest is true that's literally unattainable. You'd have to play over 19 hours a day every single day for the year.

Who is playing the 600$ 250k guaranteed next week? If some of you want to get the mixed games going once we finish (or more likely go busto), I am game.

There are 3 day 1: 26th, 27th and 28th. (+ some satellites)

Spoke to the floor a little about getting that mix going and got all kinds of conflicting info but yes, Like you guys stated above I think the only way to get this going is to have a group of players agree to play at a certain time just get it going and see who will join in. I will try to get that organized. I think we'll aim to start at the beginning of the year since this next two weeks is difficult scheduling.

I did play from 7pm Sat until 7pm Sun which is pretty insane that I didn't collapse from exhaustion. Played 3 hours of 2-2 PLO8 until the game broke Sat night around 10pm. Jumped into 20-40 stud and by 2am it was 5 handed and the players wanted to add Limit Hold'em and Omaha high only (at 20-40 limit).

I have never played stud for this long but felt I learned a lot (by learning I mean donating tuition money to better players who kept outplaying me). Overall I think it was $ well spent as that game is always running and it seems profitable because there are always 2-3 super loose passive players but there are also 2-3 very good players who seem to be able to narrow down your 2 down cards quite well. It seemed that everyone who popped in from 6am - 2pm liked the idea of a high only limit game mix and were willing to gamble.

This is what got the pink chip game going regularly at Mohegan.

The core that's going to get the game going at Encore are probably a lot of the core players from the Mohegan game (I've seen a few in 8/16 LHE on a Saturday).

Encore has the advantage of a bigger local market, but you can't start the game at 7 PM for the core stud/mixed game players, who tend to be older (I'm 68 and mid-range for that game). Note: It is 8:20 AM, the game is going at Mohegan with 10 names on the wait list). Know your demographic.

Establish a regular day of the week with a morning start time, and the younger crowd can filter in during the day and keep the game going into the night after the old farts like me get tired.

If that could get that regularly started for a Saturday, it could work.

Sorry for the privacy info above. Basically it got full again which was a huge surprise from the early morning until 2pm before it resorted back to straight stud.

I'm going for the last flight on Sat, but worried about if they can handle the turnout. They just had 600 players for a one day holiday tournament recently. Seems like this one is going to smash that turnout.

Any regulars heard from floor/TD if they are willing to lock up all the tables for the tournament if they need it?

I'm not worried looking at how they handled the black Friday tournament. There was a higher turnout than expected and the organization was very smooth.

They've heard all the complaints about no cheaper food options and rolled out the Encore Cantina.

There is also free coffee, hot water with lemon, and milk tea (no boba) by the Pai Gow/Baccarat area near Red 8.
