Im not sure how I feel about how they handle the end of each 20 minute period for the high hand
At first I thought it was great as there could be no tanking to try to pass over into the next 20 minutes if your hand is already beaten in this period but now I find it frustrating and annoying because of how often they have to go to the cameras to verify a buzzer beater. We had two of those at my table yesterday that were beaten by the very last hand. Both times there hand was announced as the winner then it was retracted minutes later after they checked the cameras. The last guy had a major freakout and left in a huff.
Idk what a better solution would be but this one is pretty crummy

One idea, using technology:

1. To qualify, the hand must start before the end of the period.
2. *Start* is defined as the shuffle is completed.
3. The shufflers have a time stamp (I've seen it sitting in the 1 seat).
4. When the floor calls a high hand and table number, the data should show for which period that hand was dealt.

The other problem comes before any announcement of going to the cameras in the minute or two following clock expiring, The clock is at 0:00 but now the player with the HH has no idea when each table has completed their final hand. There were a couple of these instances yesterday alone.

There really isn't a solution. It's pick your poison......the second sweat after clock hits zero or deal with tanking. I'd prefer dealing with the tank but it's probably 50/50 if you polled players.

I for sure prefer the second sweat way. At least this one only affects one person having to wait, the dealing with tanking can affect way more people. Feasibly could be two or three tables with someone tanking with aces full of kings waiting so they're in the next time period.

Tiered Card Coming to Encore Boston:
CEO Matt Maddox mentioned on the earnings conference call with analysts late today that Encore Boston would be first North American property to shift to a tiered rewards program. Something about especially important for a regional market like Boston...launching Q1 '20.
Be interesting to see if they match competitor's levels.
I also wonder what the impact may be on Vegas offers, and how poker play will fit in.
Stock was down at the close, but rose back a bit in aftermarket trading.
Seems Macau had a few blips, but related to high roller variance.

Shuffle Master is pretty tight with their software, doubt they want hardware communication possibilities as that could be exploited. I've also never seen a timestamp on when the hand was shuffled, only a counter which shows completion percentage progress of the shuffle and number of seconds it has been shuffling.

I could be mis-remembering what I saw.

I am serious when I say I am thinking of hiring someone to develop an app for this (which applies to other things like meetups). Let me actually do some work on this but in the meantime I don't even mind doing this laborious work manually and maybe creating a few WhatsApp groups. I have found WhatsApp groups work great for poker games.

I think I will create a few groups like 8-16 mix, 20-40 mix, etc... and then people can be notified when there is the possibility of a game and add themselves to the actual list on Poker Atlas and we can try and get the floor to call it, etc...
