I was at Borg weekend of 7/18, and the 4/8 HOSE was going Sat afternoon. I hope to play it the next time I am there, which should be mid August. That, and maybe either some 10/20 or 1/2 NL.

10/20 2way is notoriously nitty, all the time. If there's only one table, you couldn't pay me to sit with those nits. 15 minute arguments, 6 hands per down, just downright unhappy people are the norm. If there's a must move table, then I will always play in that one, as that table usually has action and less of the .... you know...suicide-causing effects.

I love the 10/20 2 way game. My fav game by far.

The closest I've seen to this is the cctv feed at the Wynn. You can see what games are running while brushing your teeth.
Yeah CCTV, meaning it's not available outside the hotel network.

Borgata would have to develop that and feed it to their portal website.

It's not as easy as opening up their signup board to the web. That would open up their internal systems to a security risk.

All depends on what they have setup, like the reservation system, if they could piggy back on that it should not be too hard to do.

But then again why would they publicize it? Would they want you to not show up cause there's a "long" wait list for 1,2nl, but a short one at the Taj?

Don't hold your breath.

As Stan mentioned before, the key to getting the 4/8 HOSE going is to have an established start time. That way enough people will show up at once so that the game actually gets off the ground.

Stan! I hope you're enjoying your vacation!
I would hope that you would feel the love as well.

I think I'm taking the plunge in a couple of weeks and taking a shot...are the 10/20 LHE and OE games raked? or time games?

I know there's nothing to do about it, but man the jump from 3/6 to 10/20 is big

I was at the Borg this weekend.
Saturday night sat in the 1/2 PLO game, full table till atleast 4am when i left, and we had a list most the time. 2/5PLO was a must move to our table i heard?? Had a nice 700bb session too, lots of big pots and deep stacks. Was a 2800 3way pot... one dude flopped the nut straight on a KJ9 board i believe, and another player had top set with small flush draw, while another player had AA with nut flush draw, turn brick, and river was A. straight wins. He was stoked, everyone was excited, and when i said that must have been nice he goes "yeah, mainly because i was stuck for 1700".
while still another guy who was hitting boats like he was at a marina, was sitting on a stack of atleast 2k (but he said he was in for 800). that game runs so big, but a ton of fun.

i believe saturday there was a list of interest for the 5/10LHE?
i know a 5/10LO/8 game started sunday...

and while playing i heard the story of the "fight" that broke out.. an argument over something, and a dude pop the other guy in the mouth, breaking a tooth? and the attacker said he will just take his money and leave... but of course security wasnt having that. but thats all i heard about it..

Stan, would you please set the record straight for me on an issue that I have seen inconsistently ruled upon by dealers? In a cash game in which the pot is heads-up, are you allowed to turn your hand over without killing it? Can you watch your opponent react to it, then make a decision based on his reaction? When in this situation, I have asked dealers and have been given answers on either side multiple times and am curious as to what the official answer is. Thanks.

First time would be a warning the second time would be time off.

I saw the aftermath b/c I was at the table in front of the cage (table 6 i think and its annoying when people try to cut through those tables to get to the cage). We did see security talking to the kid who apparently was the instigator (he was in a black blazer and black shirt) and an hour or so later he was over by MurMur so I guess it wasn't a big deal.

For my first live cash game..it was a great experience. I think I played about 12hours, drank 12 Coronas, lost $80, and learned a lot about my abilities.

Thanks again to the Borgata staff for providing a good experience to a newbie. I'll be back.

Stan.

I'm curious, and I'm hoping to better understand Borgata's policy.

It's my impression that showing cards in a heads up cash game hand is accepted in almost all Casino poker rooms, without warning or penalty. I definitely understand the problem when there are three or more players in the hand. But why is this frowned upon at Borgata?

(As a side note, I'm sure that all of the kids want to look cool like the players that they've seen on High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark show one or two hole cards).

Thanks.

Personally i do not think it is good poker. Arguments have erupted because of this. Only two things can happen when players show their cards before the show down and they are both bad.

Showboat dealers are dealers, not poker room directors... they can post here as players but they cannot discuss, represent or shill their card room on 2+2 in any way, they are not authorized.

PS: I am waiting for a call from you btw...

I for one saw someone do this HU and the dealer didn't care at all. There seems to be conflicting opinions among the dealers then on whether they can do this or not. Perhaps something to bring up to the dealers?

That should be reason enough. Do you really want people to flip over their cards and then spend a couple of minutes "getting a read" on their opponents? There are enough TV acts on poker tables as it is.

This is why I wanted to get the truth from the horse's mouth so to speak. I've actually gotten into arguments with dealers over this because a previous dealer has allowed me to do this. This past weekend, a dealer told me my hand was dead when I did it (my mistake for not clarifying first). I'm glad I was able to get the official ruling, and will not attempt it anymore. While I believe it is a part of poker, I respect the house, and recognize that not all feel that way. Stan probably forgot more about poker than I will ever know.

I asked this weekend if i could while i was in a hand. got mixed answers from the table, and dealer was confused right off the bat, so she called the floor. Gave me the same answer as stan.. First time is a warning. But for the second time he didnt really say what will happened... dead hand and time out?
