Any special tournaments for Memorial day weekend? Is there going to be a $100 K guaranteed on Saturday May 28th?

What are the poker room rates for Sunday, May 29th or Saturday May 28th?
I know it may be a little too early, but I am planning to bring my brother and sis-in-law (who will be on their first trip to the US) and have promised them that the Borg is the place to be (and making the trip to Vegas is not necessary to have the best of the US Casino experience).

I called the poker room few minutes ago but was told ..."its too early...call tomorrow morning and ask for Tab/ Debbie."

Would appreciate your feedback.

They have free wifi in the Living Room lounge and the Metropolitan restaurant.
I have heard some people have gotten access in parts of the poker room but I haven't tried.

I've never had wifi issues anywhere in the poker room with my iphone. Can always connect.

The wifi in the room works best in the lobby area(front desk) The tables in front of the High Limit Room got pretty good reception, but perhaps it was because I was using my laptop. The 3G used to be spotty for me, but it has gotten better recently, but is still not perfect. I use Verizon FWIW.

The only issues I have really are with the women. They are so hot! It makes it hard to concentrate on poker sometimes ; ). Other than that, oh wi-fi, right. Yeah, wi-fi is decent too.

After my experience last night at Harrahs Chester, i am thinking about playing more tourneys at the Borgata rather than going back there. Whats the turnout for the daily turnouts like? Especially the two 15k gtd's on wednesdays and the 30k gtd on sunday

The two wednesday tournys ALWAYS clear the guarantee with rare exception and usually have between 200-250 runners. The 30k is not Sunday, but rather on Friday and also always meets the guarantee.

Having said that, this upcoming week will probably have smaller numbers since the week or two after a big tournament series usually sees smaller crowds.

How is the game selection like around 6am-10am?

Do they always have at least 1 or 2 tables of 2/5NL running?

I see Taj Mahal during those hours have at most one 2/5NL game if lucky. But usually just 3-4 tables at the most.

I remembered i walked around the Taj Poker room at 10am and there were no more than 5 games running at that time and it was pretty apparent all of those games were either 1/2NL or 2/4 Limit.

I don't think I can ever remember a time when the Borgata did not have at least a couple 2-5 tables, no matter what time of day.

Lets see if asking this a 3rd time is the charm to get a response...

Anyone know the usual number of entries for the 11AM Saturday tourney and also how long it usually goes until? I'll also assume this Saturday will be a little bit less due to the series ending right before it.

I was also there for day 1. I try to always be objective and I won't say I'll never go back to Harrah's Chester. But, it's the Borgata, Parx or DP for me. I'd much rather play where I'm appreciated and Stan's place is one that I'll never have to wonder what they're up to. I left the opening $245 wondering if I'm a friggin idiot.

One rack of red. If the stacks on the game look especially large, I will sometimes buy a red rack and a $500 stack of green, but that's really my buy-in for the 20-40 game. Generally, I think the correct initial buy-in on the 10 game is a red rack ($500); $1k for the 20-40 game; and $2K for the 40-80. But I am sure other people will disagree.

I used to play at Borgata two weekends out of every month (20/40 and 40/80 LHE). That was years ago, when the poker room was in the basement. I hadn't been back to the B since before Hurricane Katrina--until this past weekend. First of all, I had a very good experience over all, and I am grateful to the staff for making my experience such a good one. At first, I was put off by the high ceilings in the "new" room (I know, it's not new anymore--it's just new to me), but I quickly adjusted and found that the action was all that I had remembered it to be! The regulars were also very welcoming to me. I am 100% sure that this is because they assumed that I was a tourist donk who came to infuse their 20 and 40 games with several racks! Regardless, it was good to see that the regulars in those games FINALLY figured out that you catch more flies with honey (the reg's on the 20-40 game used to intimidate and slow roll new players, which drove me crazy because the new players would rarely play with us twice!).

Because I have returned to the East Coast and will likely be playing at the Borg again, I read a lot of the previous posts on this thread. I have to say that Stan is the mf'ing Man!! His player-oriented posts are awesome, and he clearly has a sick work ethic and is willing to go the proverbial "extra mile" for the players. All very impressive!

So now my questions for the Borg nits:

1.) Are the LHE games (20/40 and 40/80) always as good as they were this past weekend, or was this due to the Poker Open? If not, I will just find other games...

2.) Any comparisons of the 20/40 games at the Taj vs. Borg?

3.) I have looked at some of Stan's posts, but would still appreciate confirmation that the 20-40 actually goes on the week nights? Any difference between the week nights and the weekends (much tighter on week nights, I imagine)?

THANK YOU. SEE YOU AT THE B.!

That is AWESOME Stan! I am so excited to see this! In my experience (albeit at other properties, since I haven't been a Borgata regular since 2005), having an ultra-high limit area has a REALLY nice effect on the 20 and 40 limit games in the adjacent rooms. I am glad that this is happening, and I truly commend you for all that you have done for the Borg poker room. I am so impressed.
