I hear ya - but, if they are hurting now, can change only help?

e.x. you go to the Borg one day to play 10/20. Alas, 10/20 is not spread, nor will it be spread. But, there is an Pink and a 15/30 - what do you do?

The 10/20 O8 game sucks. How could Pink and 4/8 suck worse?

3/6 is pointless, as the blind structure is bad. Perhaps, if it were a 2 chip/3chip blind, it might be better.

For the same reason, 15/30 and 30/60 are better games than 10/20 and 20/40.

Why 2/4 is even spread is beyond me.. but, I digress.

Keep things the way they are. It was just a thought to "shake things up" and maybe be different (and better).

Blue, thanks for the feedback, but I was actually looking for the average number of players (i.e., field size) in each tournament -- not how long they take.

Haven't been to the Borgata in a while, but going next week. The 6 max games aren't running at all, are they?

Many businesses in various industries have proven that consistency is a model for success. I am not suggesting that nothing should ever change, but the reduced traffic in poker rooms are a result of macro conditions as well as the competitive as discussed ad naseum on these boards.

i thought the 10/20 O8 game goes pretty regularly. it always seems to be on the live game report which i check semi-regularly. but like others have said, if it is struggling, why should we worry what a 4/8 O8 game would do to it? the difference in stakes between those two limits is not insignificant and it seems silly to shut out a potentially larger player pool that is unwilling to play that high (like me)

cliff notes of this post: i want a 4/8 or 5/10 O8 game, will not play in the 10/20 O8 game, would like to think there are others like me

I agree. As an Omaha/O8 dabbler I would sit down in a 4/8 game for sure, but 10/20 is too high for me considering how bad I am at the game.

Absolutely agree. The 4/8 o8 game at parx is soft, fun, and low enough stakes for me, a very straightforward tight player in omaha 8. I would def play if it runs.

Shhhhhhh.... don't say that.

Now the collection of human-ATM's in the Parx, game will all be replaced by 2p2's, trying to grind it out

Me too, it was great with the pink chips too, liked it best when we mixed it with LHE, not interested in the 10/20.

No comp dollars. During the last tournament series it looks like tournament entries were good for a discount at certain restaurants and discounted room rates.

What are the playing requirements for the Poker rate anyways? I'm pretty sure I play more than enough the times I've used it, but I've never tried to determine how many hours were needed.

Before the Borgata existed and before NL was spread, the Taj spread 10-20, 15-30 and 20-40. The 15-30 game was not stable and the Taj eventually stopped spreading it. When a room has established limits that work (10-20 and 20-40 have worked for years), the room shouldn't change them.

Mason Malmuth has suggested in the past that the 2-chip/3-chip structure is not good for game stability, as bad regulars lose too quickly. Not sure if this is true, but it is a consideration.

Also, note that 15-30 plays almost as big as 20-40 ($25 in blinds vs. $30 in blinds). It would not replace a 10-20 game.

The 10 & 15 games at the Taj, back in the day, were great games. The 15 went often and usually there were 2-3 tables on fri/sat nights. This ran for a long time, until some reg's decided that they wnated to play a little higher and the 20 was born. The 20 game killed the 15 game, actually. And, it also, IMO, contributed to some people moving to the Borgata, when they opened.

Really? The 15 game has been a staple at Bellagio since.... forever. It's probably the best mid-limit game in LV (other than the Bellagio's 30 game). I wonder what Mason would say about NL - no place other than NL do "bad regulars" lose more money - yet, that continues to thrive.

Which is why you need something like Pink or 8-16 to fill that gap.

You might then get mixture of the 20 players, now playing 15 along with some 10 players that can move up. Those that cannot would play pink and/or 8. People would be more inclined to move up from 4/8 (3/6) to pink or 8.

In the end, you could end up with more players in all of these games.

I'm sure some of you guys are staying there so wondering your take on it. I think I'll come back down in a few days or so, I'm looking to play on my aircard in my room some and also to be able to work out and eat somewhat healthy as well.

I'll probably be bringing down low-mid 5 figs, is it impossible to get a box unless you are a regular?

Thanks
I think this is different from the poker boxes, but they have boxes in the offices behind the main front desk. They walk you back, make you sign some stuff, etc. I've used them simply as a room guest.
