As for staying at the hotel I do that all the time. Soul still intact (there really isn't anything to do in AC anyway, so no point in staying anywhere else).
yeah this is what I figured, wasn't sure if there was a waiting list for the future or what not, going to bring down much less and just hit up a bank if i lose that roll

is there a decent gym to work out at?

There is a gym at the Borgata, but it is not free to use for hotel guests. I don't remember how much it costs, but it is not cheap, like at least $15 a day, maybe more.
I think that sucks, but it is the same way at the Taj and other places. Really worse at the Borgata though because I cannot even go out for a walk to get exercise, since it is not on the boardwalk and there is really no good area to walk from there,

Didn't play in the room this week since my friend and I were too busy dumping money in the regular casino. I guess they didn't like us since I only got 7 in comps for losing much more haha. I may be in this weekend.

One other thing that I really was impressed by in the tournament was the fact that when I went to the desk to sign the papers and such, the TD informed me that the Borgata did take 3% for dealer tip when I pulled out my wallet to tip the dealers. Another casino in this area cough HET cough didn't say a word of their 4% dealer toke from the prize pool. I think it is fine they take a dealer toke, but to make sure the players are aware of this shows a lot of respect from the staff and another reason to only play at Borgata.

The gym at Borgata (Pump Room) is $12 per day. At Harrah's the gym is $15 per stay. When I was there in August my GF and I paid once and used the same card. There's no one there to check. You pay $15 to the pool cashier and they give you the door key.

I don't remember since it's been awhile. But I think you could pay in cash, comps or billable to room if you're staying.

Heck, you know you could use the inlet walkway to Harrahs. Best to use when there's sunlight. ;-)

Mini TR:

Spent some time at the Borgata this weekend thanks to a nice poker room rate. Planned on playing 1/2 but the comp made me navigate to 3/6. The swings are so much easier to handle. Ended up ahead for my sessions but you could tell it was just a lot of regulars. I guess that's to be expected when a room offers 2/4 and 3/6. Was planning on playing the Sunday morning $40+$10 and was shocked as the person at the booth asked for $1K. Didn't know there was a gigantic sat for the deep stack tournament instead. Oops.

Room: Decent but nothing special. From all the talk, I was expected to be blown away about how much better somehow a Borgata room is compared to anything else in AC. At the end of the day it was a standard room. I was at least expecting a flat screen TV.

Buffet: Very nice for dinner. Possibly the largest selection of any buffet I've been to and very tasty. Went for brunch as well at 9, which was a mistake. The omelet bar line was long and frankly there was nothing there that should have made it over $57 for 2 people.

Table games: I know Stan would disagree (at least it sounded like it when we spoke) but it was nice that there was $10 and even (from what I heard) 1 $5 blackjack table on a Saturday late afternoon. Since I'm friends with very low limit players, it kept us from just checking our bags and heading back to the boardwalk.

Also was cool to actually meet Stan. Very nice guy.

I would too if it were not for the fact I am going to Fort Lauderdale for the weekend.

Excellent action this weekend in the 25/25 NL/PLO rotation game. The floor even game us a break on the time during one down (hope I don’t get anyone in trouble!) – way to support the high limit and PLO games Borg. Regularly $5k-$10k pots (I know because I lost one of them!). Everyone was prepared to rebuy which you need to do to keep the game going. At one point we were 8 handed. The dealers were usually very good about calculating the pot although at that level the players in the hand also know the correct raise sizes and are always willing to call it out. There was also a 1/2 PLO going Saturday that I played in when I ran out of Pepto Bismol given the swings in the 25/25. All the players were complete gentlemen.

Hope to see more PLO games going in the future.

I have always thought that the Borgata casino is the nicest in AC, and the poker room is the nicest in the country (and I have been to a lot), but the hotel rooms are the least nice of any in AC. I have stayed at Taj, Showboat, Bally's, Tropicana, Harrah's, and Trump Marina, and I liked the rooms at all of those better than the rooms at the Borgata. The Borgata rooms are smaller than the others and the beds and pillows are much less comfortable (to my head and back anyway). However, that does keep me in the room less and the casino more, which may be the point...

Forgot to add that the eye candy was def far and away better than anything else in AC, from the waitresses to the girls getting ready to hit the clubs.

I thought I saw a redhead in that game but didn't even think it could be you because who in 4L plays that high?

One day when I feel extra-degen I'm gonna take a shot in that 1/2 PLO game. I can't imagine playing 25/25. Must be crazy variance.

After a really ridiculous run at 1/2NLH at the Borgata a while back I sat in the 1/2 PLO and spewed off two buyins in about an hour.

Whoops.

But hey, at least I got to play in the high limit room (for some reason).

Those were a couple of weeks ago. For the rest of the month there are double comps for stud hi games, and guaranteed Sunday stud tourneys.

really, 1/2 PLO in high limit room. Must not have been Saturday since it was in the regular room. I should have played but didn't since I was drunk. I should have in retrospect, since I probably would have lost the same amount either way haha. The PLO game isn't hard, I know most of the regs and just try to avoid them and target the fish. Avoid high variance spots like getting it all in preflop or flop with certain hands you would online if you want to play a safer style.

Whaaaaaa....1/2 PLO in the High-Limit room? When was this? I never played there before. Though I really hope future games start in there, too! ;-)

Hey stan or anyone who know I will be heading down to Borgata next Monday through Wednesday and was wondering how many runners the $80+20 tournament has been getting and which one the 11am or 7pm has been getting more runners. Also if you can give me an idea of what 1st is taking down in those tournaments it would be very helpful and about how long they have been taking to play through... I am thinking about running one of them next week and just wanted some more info about them. Thanks!
