A firm rule needs to be in place...whether it's a time limit or dealer changes or buttons or whatever....and the rule needs to be enforced.
Of course, it would be great if everyone who works for Borgata knows Borgata's policies, and would enforce the policies consistently.

If your stack was picked up based on pressure from the players at the table, because a dealer/floor person did what was easy to shut up the complainers, there's another problem.

I had fun playing. I had been up and down day/morning/evening...It ended up a small losing session (only 300 bucks). But overall, have to say the players were fun and there were some pretty skilled ones who came and went throughout the day.

Stan - wish you could have some kind of High hand/Bad Beat deal or promotion for the PLO Omaha (H) game(s), I think it would possibly bring more players to the table if you did that.
Yeah, that's me. Did you have a flannell on? Went to UT? I remember you.

Agreed...game was a ton of fun with enjoyable players.

A re-raise is to $96... a $28 call (pot is $68) and a 68 raise for a 136 pot.
Yeah, I think we are saying the same thing. $8, $28...etc.

A post was made about $7 then $24...etc. I guess I was correcting that. No big deal...

at the borgata, at the extreme minimum, you can be gone for 30 minutes before getting picked up. if you play one hand with a dealer that just sat down, you can be gone for 1 hour in a rake game, and 1 hour 20minutes or so in a time charge game.
I'm not saying you can't get away with being gone for an hour before being picked up.

My point is that if you ask for the official amount of time you can be gone, the answer will never be "one hour and fifteen minutes"...it will usually be 20 or 30 minutes, depending on the casino (probably 30 at Borgata, since you need to be gone at least one whole down).

More importantly, the way the poster phrased his question ("How long can I be at dinner") makes it sound like he is asking about the dinner list, not how long he can leave a stack unattended, so I don't blame the dealer for answering how he did. Players shouldn't be leaving their stack on the table to go to dinner when they are in a full game with a list and the dinner list option is available.

Disengage I was not the individual with a g/f in Brazil. I was only there for 30 minutes ish at 5 am and was in the 2 seat. I thought the game was at table 51 in the back row in front of a wall. The game sounded great and I'll make sure to be there whenever it runs again.

The Borgata dinner list policy.

You may put your name on the dinner list only for the game that you are currently leaving to go eat. You have 1.5 hours to return Sun -Thu. 2 hours Fri and Sat. If you return in the allotted time you will be inserted to the top of the list or inserted according to others returning from the dinner list.

Please be considerate to others if people are waiting to play. Go on the dinner list and give the next person a chance to play while you are away.

Borgata Pick-Up Policy

A player should be picked up after receiving two buttons and 20 minutes. Yes, there are circumstances that may give a player a few minutes longer and approved by a manager.

I'm also in nyc n I don't have a car. Usually ill just take a bus down from port authority ( academy, greyhound) unless I know someone is driving. I have to say that although the buses get there promptly, they are not the best experience. A lot of the time the bus will be dirty (stained seats, nuts and crumbs in different places, ect.). I was thinkin about traveling with my girlfriend when I go in jan and I def don't want to take the bus in this case. Has anyone had any sucess with the aces train? I'd like to know more about this. Thanks

I think I played with some of you guys yesterday. I was at the plo table in a Virginia Tech hoodie and hat. I couldn't believe how bad some of the players were. Alot played it just like it was NL with extra cards. I doubled up one hand after repotting the flop with a set and getting called by top pair with no redraw. Definitely the juiciest table I've ever played at.

This sounds beyond reasonable....can't see why someone would have a problem with it.

Yeah, I remember you as well. You came in with the newer people in the early part of Sunday morning/afternoon. I think I busted out an hour or so after you sat down. Yes, some of those players were playing it like hold'em with extra cards...that's generally why the people who play PLO seriously leave with a rack or two or three, you can't argue for better opponents. Against my own better judgement, I would have been in the winning group had I just gone to bed while my chip stack was high instead of making some severely questionable calls and chasing cards down. But so goes PL Omaha right? You win some, you lose some, you learn (and hopefully those we all lump in as hold'em-esque players don't learn as quick)

Definitely a juicy game.

What you mean by "Winter Tournament Schedule".. is this new schedule just for a few weeks.. or until you decide to change it?

For the $220+30 30k guar, is it the same structure as the $100+20 15k guar?

This schedule will change again sometime around May. The $220 is the same schedule that you have been playing every friday.

Stan (or TAB) can you take an educated guess as to how many runners the New Years Eve Tourney (Dec. 31) will have ($200+$30)? Just curious whether I should rush down there and play this. I think I prolly should.

Stan what is the 'Re-entry' tournament? Is this similar to the triple play where if you bust, you may go to the cashier and pay for another seat at a new table? What is the structure, and are the reentries 65 or 80?

I see 1-2 PLO is running, I will likely check it out tonight.

Stan,

Please clarify the pick-up part... by two buttons, the assumption is 2 ABSENT buttons. If so, then a player walking would receive 1 hour and 20 minutes, before being picked up. Longer, if they work the angle of playing a hand or two with a new dealer, then leaving. They would get about 3 dealers (2 absent buttons) + 20 minutes - for about 2 hours.

This is not much different from being away on the dinner list. In fact, it encourages players to just walk and take the 1:20+ with their chips on the table, knowing that they could return and sit right back down, without having to go back on (albeit to the top of) the list.

If the policy was two "missed big bling" buttons + 20 minutes, it would be more incentive to join the dinner list, assuming you needed longer than about 45 minutes (the time for two orbits + 20 minutes), rather than leave the table short for 1:20+.

The latter would also help avoid situations where multiple players go away for 1:20+ and the table becomes really short - often with a long list of players waiting to get into the game.

I only played timed NL games, but buttons mean two absent buttons. So when a new dealer sits down, and you are not on your stack, you get an absent button (and one Big Blind button, no matter how many rounds you have missed)
