Stan, I saw in another thread that the 10/20 game tomorrow will definitely be 1 hr O8 / 30 min 7CS8. Is that a weekday-only adjustment, or is that going to be "permanent" (for the time being) so that 7.5/15 is promoted as a standalone game?

Permanent. We will start spreading 5-10 Omaha H/L and 20-40 Omaha H/L for those that prefer Omaha only.

Stan
This is in addition to the 7.50/15 O8 that has been going recently? 5/10 seems a bit too close in stakes for both to work.

Pink chip game was fun on Saturday. I saw the usual people, though I still don't know anyone's name or their 2+2 handle, but it was cool to say hi to Stan. 3 tables of PC is awesome.

Too bad the main PC game was too tight for my tastes. Plus some unneeded drama about picking up a player who should have gotten picked up (2 buttons+), but didn't, and her friends saying they'll get up if the floor picks her up. All was fine when she came back 15 minutes later. "Pick me up? I helped started the game." Like I said, unneeded nitty drama.

Also, I still notice dealers raking 10% instead of 5%. Not a big difference, but...just a note.

I lost about 200 at the PCH, but made more than enough at 10/20, and also in the pit, so it was a good trip for me. Ate an awesome dinner at SeaBlue, which I had never visited before. Seafood paella was delicious. Prices are all high, so be prepared, but I was satisfied drinking at the bar and eating my meal, while watching the Eagles trying to give away the game, but ultimately winning the game.

I hope to be back soon. Thanks again Stan for running a top-notch room.

Interested in your thoughts on the game and the state of the game at the Borgata.

Interested in other people's opinion as well.
One player's thoughts - PLO gets very expensive, very fast. It also doesn't really allow one to protect big hands in early position (If 1/2 are the blinds, then first to act can only raise to $7 - which isn't anything. Next person gets to make it $24 - seems wrong, from a NLHE standpoint - somehow.

I like Omaha. I've played the pink chip game on the rare occasions when I've been in the room and it ran. Wish it, or a 5-10 or 10-20 Limit Omaha, would run more often. That I'ld play. I'm sitting out the 1/2 PLO for now, and I'm a regular 2/5 NLHE player.

Just one player's thoughts, your milage may vary.

Funny. About 2 weeks ago I was playing in the PC O8 game....a few hours in I asked the dealer how long I have for dinner. He said "an hour and fifteen minutes". I left and met a friend at the buffet....was back in an hour and found my stack was picked up. I was very upset. All the nits at the table said I was gone too long.

A firm rule needs to be in place...whether it's a time limit or dealer changes or buttons or whatever....and the rule needs to be enforced.

I completely disagree. I get very irratated with people who insist on following the rules of trivial issues to the absolute letter. This is not the legal system where such a rigid enforcement is necessary. It's about the spirit of the rule. No need to be so nitty about these issues. somone comes back 5 mins later than the rules allow? Let him sit and have fun

Letting someone slide a bit is fine (if the table agrees.) It's picking someone up early that's the issue.

There's supposed to be a two-button rule. In practice, however, usually the floor just comes over and asks the table "how long has this guy been gone." If the guy is good for the game, the table will usually say "he just left." If the guy is a nit the table will usually say "oh man, he's been gone forever. . . ."

also if anyone here is good with math, i have a 39 month lease and the drive to work is about 24 miles roundtrip and the drive to ac is 250 miles roundtrip.
question is..
my lease allows 10,000 miles a year.
how many times can i goto ac a month and keep it under the 10,000?

once, with a few miles leftover

24 mi x 5 days/weeks x 50 weeks of work per year (assuming 2 weeks vaca) = 6000, leaving 4000 leftover, divided by 12, 333 mi./mo. = one AC trip per month

adjust accordingly for less work, etc.

Since you are not good at math, we want you in AC as often as possible.

IF you JUST go to work and ONLY go to ONE casino in AC you can go 16 times a year.

Now, from Maryland including gas and tolls, it is about $75 round trip to drive. Why would you do that? The train is a little more, net $100, and allows you to rest. There is a free shuttle that takes you to your hotel.

I've personally done it twice and it's wasn't that bad. Considering the fact that I hate driving long distance I always prefer taking the bus. However it can be very uncomfortable at the bus. And then you would have to cab it to the Borgata.

Assuming that you're in NYC like me somewhere these are your expenses:
$20.89 Tolls(Got this from my EZPass statement)
$60 Gas (Assuming 500 Miles roundtrip with 25MPG)
$5 Parking (I'm only red card unless I can prove it to Stan I'm consistently visiting his zoo)

Total $85.89 Per visit

Now if you take the bus down and just cab it back and forth
$35 Bus down to AC
$30 Cab Roundtrip to Borgata ($13 Max rate + 2 dollar tip)
$4.50 Roundtrip to Penn Station

Total: $69.50

You would save money by taking the bus, but like I said it comes down to how comfort you feel sitting on the bus. If anyone has any input on how the ACES trains are it'll be good!

Oh also another bad part about taking the train is that they do run often, but there are LOTS of people there trying to get back on Sunday. I usually don't get a hotel so I would go there during the day, grind +10 hours and then take the bus in the wee mornings. Saves you worries about going over your allowed mileage on your leased car. Also you get approximately 1 1/2 hour sleep on the way there so you get to the Borgata nice and fresh! I probably wouldn't want you to though if you're sitting at the same table as me.

I have no sympathy for a player with two buttons that gets picked up when there's a wait list. I don't give a **** if the person started the game or not.

I don't know the details of this girl that was about to be picked up, but as far as I know there is a firm rule in place - 2 buttons then pickup if there is a list.

Where in NYC are you? I'm in Jersey City and it's exactly 125 miles (250 roundtrip) to AC. My tolls are less then $20 too (but I don't have to pay to leave the island).

Diablozz that sounds pretty good to me. and those buses go quick, i feel like there is an unspoken rule between the bus operators and the jersey state police. you bring us money to our state, and in exchange you can go 85 mph. seriously tho if anyone has been driving up and down the GSP you know what im talking about those buses are nuts.

and im from long island new york. so 40 mins from the island to the jersey turnpike and then 30 mins from the turnpike to the gsp and then gsp to ac expwy takes an 1 1/2.
the turnpike to the gsp rather than the gsp straight is a trick i picked up that saves me precisely .02 miles so its one of my proud points

To make the bus even better, you can get about $20 back if you take the Academy into a casino (I think it's $25 cash back at the Taj). Since you have to take a cab anyway to the Borg, it doesn't matter if you're taking a cab from another casino or the bus station.

Dope that means my math is totally off. (I keep thinking AC is 500 miles roundtrip)

That means gas is probably $30 which makes a total of 55.89. I drive a pretty crappy car (07' Mazda) so I probably get a lot mileage on mine but I usually fill up twice because it's cheaper in NJ.

I'm also coming from Brooklyn.

Stan alluded to the fact that there were two different "rules"... one for hi-limit and another for everyone else. More liberal in hi-limit. I think this what I heard, but I was too busy losing chips to remember

Stan,I apologize if I misunderstood or misrepresented.

If you're interested, here's the Academy bus schedule from Port Authority http://www.academybus.com/LinkClick....bid=60&mid=448

and here's the info on how much you get back from each casino http://www.academybus.com/Casinos/Packages.aspx I'm not sure how accurate this list is (I did Trump Plaza within the last few months and got $20 cash + $5 food), but it should be close. (Trump Plaza is a good place to come in bc it's already so close to the Borg.)

Obv, the bus will now have to add some more time for you to get to Port Authory.
