They would need more staff to run tournament so it's probably not gonna be one of their top priorities since they're catching up on lost revenue due to covid.

MDL runs 7 handed tournaments (I think daily) and I was there plenty of Saturday's when they had long alternate lists and It's well within driving distance for people who are craving tournaments.

I’d rather wait for real borgata sized tournaments then have them make mini ones akin to the harrahs Sunday special

I just logged into the hotel reservation site, and after the middle of April, I am not being offered free rooms anymore, just discounted rates. Is this happening to others? I haven't played in almost two months, don't know if that has anything to do with it, or perhaps they are figuring as more people get the vaccine, their business will be way up...

I'm on the Borgata table list and I see 1 table of PLO-7. That means a 7 seat game? thanks

I think that this means that each player is dealt seven cards, and you need to play two of the seven cards to make a hand with the board cards. Only six players can be dealt-in per hand.

I’m kidding. I believe that you are correct.

Varies from what table you end up at and also the time/day. A lot of people playing though

Looks like just about everyone, heard you will only be able to book couple weeks in adv. Unless you degen.
Idk if its covid/people coming back out..or mgm changing plans.

Will be super bad for poker if rooms dry up.

I booked every weekend through april prior to the new calendar. However, in the past when it still had a rate and I called up, I was still given two comps per week (including weekends but that might change in the spring).

I prefer Parx anyway, I think it's a nicer room with a bigger player pool, but if I have to pay 79/nite at borgata I may as well stay at Parx for another ~$20 (comes out to be the same with the "resort fees"). I only play here because of the room comps and most of the players I talk to from northern NJ/PA say the same thing. If they take away comped rooms the room will be a lot slower.

+1 here.

Borg used to have lower rake ($4+1 instead of $5+1 on 1/2 and timed rake on 2/5) and didn't unnecessarily split its 1/2 and 1/3 games. Now both have 1/3, $5+1 rake, and pot rake 2/5.

Borgata still has mid/high stakes limit games on weekends and a better overall comp structure (doesn't expire after 3 months, more/better places to spend them) but that's not going to be enough to ever justify the drive being twice as long without cheap rooms.

Borg is discontinuing bonus comps for 60 and 90 hours played in a month. It’s no longer listed on Bravo or on the website and a friend who is there confirmed that he was told it is gone.

I checked a few days ago and then today and I saw that more days which weren't comped become comped. It seems that comps extend out 3 weeks from the current day.

Idk if your card level matters but I'm Platinum and get two nights per week except for Saturday which is $159+tax. Hopefully this doesn't change.

Looks like everyone's being downgraded if you haven't been going regularly recently

Aug 2019-Dec 2019 I played 3 weekends a month, ~25 hours a weekend and was given any two days per week comped. Continued same schedule until St Pats weekend of 2020.

Since then have gone once in March 2021 and only played like 4 hours plus some sports betting and now it looks like I'll be back to the motels on White Horse for a few months whenever I can actually start going again. Eating egg noodles and ketchup like an average nobody, living like a shnuck

Play slots if you want rooms, us poker players are scum, and deserve nothing. With that being said l, I get 7 days a week comp I think up to 3nights. and I play penny machines here and there and play poker maybe 15-20 hrs a week tops.

Borgata Atlantic City fully integrated as MGM property; $40 member bonus in April
http://dcnewsroom.blogspot.com/2021/...ntegrated.html

hopefully this means i can easily use non-poker comps from mgm national harbor instead of going to the front desk and have them xfer $ to borgata.
(pain in the ass because of lines)

also, hopefully this means no more having 2 cards that look exactly the same:
one for borgata and one for all other mgm properties
i have to write on the card 'Borg' so i dont mix them up.

First time i got the Borgata mgm card, i mixed them up because i didnt know.
Hilarity ensued... (not really)

One last thing- Why did it take FIVE years for a multi-billion $ company to do this???
